nice work E! to bad you don't like Vista.. your stuck with it... i still have XP, will keep it..

i really like the region overview (what a suprise), the new part looks nice, it follows the railtrack..

i like to see dusseldorf and i really think you should build koln as well!

how much time do you play sc4?? cause i read that you let a city develop/grow 30-40 years.. that's pretty long, and if you do that with every city...

looking forward!

    E-ALTENDORF

@ Benedict; I did know what you ment! haha! thanks for the compliment! It's most dificult to get the transition done within low & med density..

@ Uumke; thanx for the comments always. It's good to see a fellow-dutch man often around here!

@ Tommiej; Windows Vista.. Urgh; YEAH!? :-S haha! But, I play SC4 not on daily basis. It's just when I have some spare-time in RL (mostly weekends and sometimes in the evening) I play around 5 hours a week SC4 I think, but that is average. Sometimes 3 weeks not, and then as many as 25hours a week.. it depends. And, my strategy is always to get transport done in a area, and then start zoning in. I let the game go on Llama speed (and sometimes cheetah) and build so on. (approximately 5hours to get infrastructure with help from google earth done within large citytile. And I think around 10hours to adjust everything and let the city grow to it's size (takes appr. 40years on average, but the city now showing, Essen, is allready at the age of 85 now I think)

Junction in "E-Frohnhausen", just gotta love the w2w-buildings made by our BATers around on ST

Little de-tour towards Essen-south; the river  "Ruhr" near "Baldeney-See"

Well, see you soon @ the next update on Essen's suburbs... Keep commenting, and suggesting me to do things different. Also, real-life pics would be nice of the area

Help me out, because all help is needed!!

the bigger the city, the older it needs to be! my oldest city ever was like 125 years.. it was my very first city i've build when i got sc4 deluxe, it was called tilburg.. what a surprise, my own city where i live.. it was all purely maxis, no mods, no custom content and way to american...

do you use any mod or something that makes sure that there are so many red-roofed houses?? i vaguely remember a post somewhere a long time ago in a thread about a mod that changes the growth rate of those red houses...

on the last pic, on the left side of the water plant, are they dumping sewer water in the Rhine?? cause if they do, i don't think the dutch further down the river will be pleased with it!

you forgot again to cut the vista menu bar on the pics!

Essen looks very good.. looked a GE today.. the comparison is amazing.. so many details are thought of, especially the highways and rails, of course!!

looking forward for the next piece of the Ruhrgebied

Hey, that highway in east/west direction that goes parallel to the Ruhr for a while and passes by that white patch (airport) - that must be the A52, right? To the right it ends by joining the A40 at Essen-Ost, and to the bottom left that should be the Autobahnkreuz Breitscheid, where A52 and A3 intersect - or am I mistaken?

If I'm right, that's the way I drive every few weeks when I visit my g/f! This is so cool... I see me driving over that bridge that crosses the Ruhr - the next time I'll do that might be this Friday. Whoa. I love this. 4.gif
