Co$$$ doesn't stop growing

This really doesn't seem like a problem at all, except that I've also got high demand for Co$$ and any commercial i zone gets taken over by the Co$$$ and the few that become Co$$ get replaced shortly. The Co$$$ grows way beyond what it's currently asking for, so it becomes abandoned and Co$$ takes it over raising the Co$$$ demand back up again causing more buildings to come up, it's an endless cycle and my downtown looks really ugly with half the buildings being abandoned.
I'm not sure what to do and it's starting to piss me off, I'm thinking that I should just build another downtown for Co$$ only in another city nearby. Also I can't seem to get any stage 8 buildings even though I've more than passed the threshold for stage 8 development, I did get one, but as you can guess it became a big ugly abandoned building and it got demolished4.gif. Must certain conditions be present for the big stage 8 buildings to appear?

When CO$$ grows, make that building historical. When a CO$$$ pops up, and you don't want it, bulldoze it untill something you want comes up, and when it does, make that historical too. Eventually most of your CDB will be historical, and the way that you want it. That's what I reccomend anyway.

It's when it has a sentimental value to the city and it's protected from demolitions and renovated as a ''living'' piece of the city's history.

They hit it on the head...make it historical, they wont tear it down. That goes for any building you want your city to keep (that wasn't plopped)

PS - muscrat, you have an awesome avatar.

You can get one like it by searching "Animated avatars 80x80" on google.

I was having the same problem. I downloaded the "less abandonment" mod by Bones1 (on the STEX, not the mod page) and it solved the problem almost totally. Check it out. Some people hate it, but I swear by it. I no longer have the problem you're experiencing and I've found no bad side effects.
