The latest NHP project is here:

Kinbasket Lake, by beskhu3epnm and HabLeUrG. This was a team project, with beskhu3epnm providing the 1:1 scale map, and HabLeUrG providing modifications. This no longer looks much like the original, that's for sure....

    Region Census Shot:

This is a pretty fancy map, being 9x9 large tiles. The central portion of the map can be developed into a large metropolis, with high alpine roads travelling into the mountains. It's all possible

    Hi!

Im not sure if this is the correct thread, nor if you still take requests, but im gonna make a post anyway, and hope for the best, or directions XD

Id like a map of Crimea, 12 LCT wide and 6 LCT high(so a 3072x1536(+1?) image). Ive made a basic map, but i cant find accurate enough elevation data. Thats on ~1/8 scale btw, i took measurements out of Google Earth so that scale is probably a bit off.

    (LCT = Large City Tiles)

So for the specifics id like some minor changes:

    1. The southern coastline, a 1-2km strip of fairly buildable terrain between the black sea and the mountains.

    2. Sevastopol(lower soulthwest peninsula) should preferably be fairly buildable, but with an fairly acurate coastline.

    3. Sea of Ismus(the lake(s)/marsh) seperating Crimea from the rest of the Ukraine, just shallow water here, so its easy enough to had terraform a bog/marsh area

Note, my map is a hand traced image of one from google earth, and probably isnt very accurate, but should be sufficent enough to identify the aproximate area. I guess you know where it is already, but incase not, it is the southernmost province of Ukrane, and lyes on the Black Sea.

Id be happy for any answer, even such directing me to a more correct location to post ^_^

Wow, these are really cool maps! I was wondering if you could help me out with a 'fantasy' map. It's for an idea of a cj I had, essentially it's Antarctica's Ross Island with a temperate climate.

That's a map of the island, along with an unnecessary portion of the mainland.

As far as dimensions, the island is around 950 square miles, a little smaller than Rhode Island

Question: What mod do the snowcaps come from? By that I mean the snow at the highest points on the mountains. Are they from the Arctic/Snowcapped Terrain Mod?

Well, there really isn't a short answer to your question.  It very much depends upon the specific map and then whether or not the map creater included their own or a modified version of a snowcap mod.

Whenever you download a map, the create should have indicated if a special terrain mod should be used.

Likewise, when you create your own map and wish to have snow on the mountains, youi'll have to find a terrain mod that allows this to be done.

    Regards,

    Gary (Vandy)
