Velkommin til Suðmundur!

(Vel-kome-een teel sooth-moon-dure)

That up there ^ is the royal flag of Suðmundur. An island country of only 24,005. (So far)

So, relax and watch as this small country sets out for more land and a prosperous future.

untitled10ed0.jpg

this is the towne of SælÞor. Pronounced Sile-thor. here it is just starting out. People from all over Scandinavia flock to the island when its existance was brought out to the world. There are currently 2 islands in Suðmundur's reign.

They're called Suðmannæjar, and Mannefoss. Only Suðmannæjar is inhabited. Of course, as the tiny country grows we'll watch the land use begin to increase. Many islands are out to grab for this country to gain. But they might have to fight for them....

anyway, here is some houses and shoppes:

untitled11ti5.jpg

The city grew so fast, the city officials had to upgrade streets to roads, and Imports from Iceland and Sweden quadrupled.

Here is a cargo ship from Iceland:

And here are some more shots:

City Centre: Many of the supplies had to be imported from nearby countries, making prices the highest in all of Europe. Even higher than the already expensive Iceland.

Here is another shot of the centre:

Next update, You'll meet the King & Queen of the country!

 and 'Bless' from Suðmundur

By the way, 'bless' means Bye in Icelandic.

    Welcome to update 2!

In this update, you'll meet the King and Queen but first, Here is this picture of a ship coming to inhabit Mannefoss island.shiparrivinginmannefpssfj8.jpg

    mannefoss1ek0.jpg

    mannefoss2xe6.jpg

Which went very well as account of all the people!

Here is the very first petrol station on Mannefoss:thefirstpetrolstationsf9.jpg

The towne quicky grew as the first ferry serviced opened from Sælþor to Mannefoss.saelthorshottx6.jpg

The King and Queen make their first trip to the island using the ferry service, which increased the traffic between islands 10X. The King and Queen are very loved people. Originating from Norway, Queen Ann and husband King Eirik fought for this barren country in hopes to make a new one for them and for thousands. And of course this was only possible because King Eirik is related to the King of Norway. They reached agreement that whatever they shall make (the King and Queen) off taxes from the people, the King of Norway should get 15%. And they had to agree or there would be no country. Finally they agreed and the land was handed over to them. Now, they are asking for more land, the land in the south, which is this:newislandnt9.jpg

The areas above had to be split in provinces, and governors in each province will overlook their people. And above the governors were the King and Queen, Eirik & Ann. The King of Norway agreed to give them this land becuase the other islands grew so quickly. But for a price... he wanted 5% more of the monthly wages. Which would make this country outragously expensive. 20% taxes went to the King of Norway. They finally agreed and they named their new provinces:

And now, the first people land in this new island which will be named Grösugurland which literally means Grassy land.

Now, located in the north-western part of the island, in province Sjórhérað is the towne The king and Queen will call their new home.

    Fensí:

Home to the islands largest volcano 'Hekla' and also very very very green. landjl8.jpg

    newchurchbb8.jpg

Fensí grew fast, but not as fast as Mannefoss. As word had to travel around about the new land gain for Suðmundur.

and here is the King and queens palace. And, as soon as this was built, people flocked to the island in droves...palacecityly7.jpg

And that is Fensí! And, actually the end of tonights update. So, thank you all for the wonderful comments, and Suggestions on how this could be better is appreciated! I can take criticism  =D

    Bless!

Fantastic start! Really cool to see an Icelandic CJ3.gif Your cities do have a really Scandinavian feeling to them, and I think you've made an excellent chioce as to what BATs to use. However, these four buildings caught my eye: buildingsvs7.jpg Where did you get them? I'd love to use them in my cities. Thanks! and keep up the great work! EDIT: Thanks! I checked, and the 3 first ones are not by Odd.. It'd be great if you could find out who made them 4.gif

To thundercrack83: That rounded building is an edit I did of some California palace of the arts or something? I edited the lot in Lot Editor, and to Mulefisk, the 3 buildings I believe are by 'odd from sweden' and I will doublecheck to make sure, and that one on the end is called 'kitami_apart' which I assume is Apartments, and I believe I got it on a japanese B.A.T site, and I'll try to find you the link!

    Here you go! =D

I finally found it haha after searching & searchinggggggg.

Lots of pictures to view, and like most good CJ's, the building style has a "feel" to it, not sure if you know what I mean by that....

The building style is not North American, and I can see the Icelandic influences. Sigur Rós, anyone (your nickname is after the group?)!!!
