City does exist but it doesn't

Hi!
My name is Mario, I'm from Italy.
Often my game freezes, but this, as far as I can read, it's "normal".
However, last time Simcity hanged up just after having saved, and the result is that my city Polis yet exists as a file, but doesn't exist anymore in the region, it is disappeared, and I can't neither import it. I suppose the file is corrupted, and so the game can't read it.
So do you have, experienced mayors, an idea, a trick, a magic to get my city back to existence or I must definitively say goodbye and farewell to my beloved city?

ehm... what does it looks like in the region view?

If it looks like an empty city tile, just a plain terrain, it might just be a thumbnail error. That means you can just load your city and still everything is as you safed it.

It just looks like the city has vanished, but in fact, the city is still there, only a wrong picture as safed to the region view. the region view is just a map made of pictures of the city, giving the player the illusion of a region.

try to load it as usual, and tell if it works

The same thing happened to me once.

If you'd like to rebuild that city, you can make a new region with all of the city tiles the same size as your old one, and you can import all of your old cities in.  This way, your region won't be a donut.

yes, I forgot about this. If it looks like a hole in the region view, just do what jason said. works almost all the time. :-)

Well, I'll try to explain better: the region is ok, the other cities work as usually, but one (named Polis) is disappeared after a freezing occurring while saving it, and the region tile of Polis is now empty. I've tried to import Polis again in that tile (the file exists in my computer and is in the folder "Documents/Simcity4/Regions/Edenia") but when I try it seems that for Simcity that file doesn't exist... simply the program sees all cities of the tile size (so I could import everyone of them) except Polis. My fear is that the "freezing" has corrupted the Polis file while saving and now it is no more good. Thanks anyway for your help. Polis was only (don't laugh!) 12000 people, and the other cities of the region are safe, so nothing really tragic!

This is a good reason for you to do regular backups of your regions.  Copy the whole regions folder along with your plugins to a DVD-RW or a CD-RW at least once a week.  More often if you play very much.
