Bookworm: it is a list of many of the ex-staff members. there are some missing that I need to add, like hello_sc4, but it's mostly complete.

Hmm... but Ash, Compromise, Vandy, and you are still mods, right?

It does make me sad though... used to be that SS was in chat all the time, and you coulden't go a day without a topic locked by Oakenshield 3.gif

I never knew the others though, cept maybe Yellowlab, I talked to him once... Dev, I dunno... I didn't know he was ever a mod, and tolo's like... gone... almost like she went under cover or something 2.gif

JLT:  Glad you approve.4.gif

Fred_Ginger:  Well, I don't pay attention to reality when I'm reading Sci-Fi (but then N_O_Body has determined that Sci-Fi is the plural of Scum-Fum3.gif).  Glad to hear that you enjoyed her work.  I'm going to confirm that I'm a Halo fanboy, but I'm looking forward to getting to read the latest book, The Ghosts of Onyx.  Not that you're necessarily into the series, but check out the synopsis.

The Spartan-II program has gone public. Tales of super-soldiers fending off thousands of Covenant attacks has become the stuff of legend.  But just how many Spartans are left?

While Master Chief defends a besieged Earth, and the myriad factions of the Covenant continue their crusade to eliminate humanity, an ultra-secret cell of the Office of Naval Intelligence known as "Section Three" devises a plan to buy the UNSC vital time.  They're going to need hundreds of willing soldiers though ... and one more Spartan to get the job done.

The planet Onyx is virtually abandoned and the perfect place to set this new plan in motion. But when the Master Chief destroys Halo, something is triggered deep within Onyx: Ancienct Forefunner technology stirs, and fleets of UNSC and Covenant race to claim it to change the course of the Human Covenant War.

But this reawakened and ancient force may have plans of its own...quote>

Nerd_Guy:  Government cover up, eh?  Well, people have always told me I look like I work for the FBI or CIA.18.gif

N_O_Body:  Well, picking channels can be tough when multiple channels are running things that you want to see.  But that's why they made TiVo.  It's a shame the remaining ghargh had to go home.  Could have had a good fight with him.3.gif

Actually, as I understand it, there are no more chat admins in the sense that we used to understand it in.  If I remember correctly, the premise of the "chat admin" was that well-trusted members were granted access to the chat administrator powers so that if they were ever needed and an admin wasn't easily accessible, you could contact one of these individuals.  As I understand it, site admins have always have chat admin powers.  Apart from Ski, I've seen Rybo use the powers before.

Here's a basic run down of the staff powers as found in the FAQ.

Chat Operators:

More commonly referred to as "the ops," a chat operator's job is to maintain peace in the chat room and see to it that everyone follows the
.
Their powers include the ability to warn, freeze, kick, or ban anyone who is breaking the rules.  These various functions are explained here:

Warn:
Displays a message saying that you have been warned along with the name of the person who warned you.

Freeze
: Temporarily "freezes" you, thereby disabling your ability to do or say anything for one minute.

Kick:
Kicks the user out of the room by terminating your chat session.  A user that has been kicked can return to the room.

Ban:
Likewise terminates your chat session, thereby kicking you out of the room, but forbids re-entry for the next fifteen minutes.

Moderators:

Moderators are kind of like the administrative representatives of a particular forum.  They have the ability to move whole threads to different forums, pin threads, combine threads, delete threads, move individual messages to another thread, edit messages, and delete messages.  They also have the ability to ban or unban members.  However, their powers are limited to the forums they moderate.  All moderators also have chat operator powers.  If you have a question about something pertaining to a forum or want to report something that is inappropriate, contact the one of the forum moderators by sending them a Private Message.

Administrators:

Administrators are the chief leadership of the site.  They have all the powers of a moderator, but unlike a moderator, their powers are site-wide.  They also have the ability to create forums, modify forums, delete forums, edit site settings, edit special pages like this one, create announcements, and other such functions.  Instead of chat operator powers, they have chat administrator powers.  The basic chat administrator powers work much like chat operator powers, except that a ban from an administrator lasts one hour instead of fifteen minutes.  They can also reverse some of the actions of the chat operators, as well as edit room settings, delete messages from the chat, and read the chat logs if they are so inclined.  Odds are good that if they can't do something here on Simtropolis, it can't be done.quote>

As the FAQ also says:

What is that colored text message that appears under a person's name in their posts?

That is a Custom Member Label, or CML as they are more commonly called.  These little treats are given out by the Administrators to members who they feel have had some sort of impact on the community.  Again, these are not things that are given out by asking, so don't ask for one.  (Reverse psychology doesn't work either).quote>

How you get one just depends on what kind of an impact you have on the community.  There have been some people who have been complete toads and gotten commensurate labels to match.  Other people make some really cool stuff for the game or the site and get a label in commemorating that event.  Some people win a Trixie and get a recognition label for that.  Other people get them for being nice and lovable.  There are even cases of people getting them because the Admins were having fun with us.  Mine is part of a joking reference to something I did in the past.  If the admins feel that you deserve a label, they'll give you one.

hym: Well I pass myself off as a high schooler at the local football games!! 3.gif lol I'm in my last year of Jr High but I look like a Freshman or Sophmore to some people. So much fun...

N_O_Body: Isn't Guy Fawkes that one guy that tried to kill that other guy by blowing up that one building a long time ago?

    Menotyou & DioAngel: Nonsense!

I'll just "borrow" some of that food and have some fun around ST.....*does evil laugh*

I have a friend who once, with the help of his brother, hollowed out a golf ball and filled it with small explosives, like fireworks. The dog walked over to it though, and ended up losing a lot of fur...

Nerd_Guy:  Guy Faukes was the leader of the Gunpowder Plot to blow up the English Parliament.  Even the IRA were unable to do that but they did the job on Nelson's Column.

    EDIT: Belatedly for spelling.

I haven't had a chance to check out the new spot, Mr. Body - very nice, indeed.

And, of course, any place which can bring one of our old favorites back out of hiding is a very good place indeed 10.gif

Welcome back, Mr. Llama. It is nice to see you.

N_O_Body:  Sounds like the Moose Factory is going to have an explosive good time!18.gif  Too bad I'm not going to be here for that.15.gif  Going to be on the road on Sunday.  Save some of the party favors for me?

Nerd_Guy:  Well, people always tell me that I look like I am in college.  Some people actually look at me and think I'm in my thirties.47.gif

TDL:  Welcome back to the house!4.gif  Yes, the llama milk formula remains unchanged, but I've been known to tinker with the auto-system, so before you order anything, you might want to check that someone hasn't accidentally added something that might turn your fur blue.3.gif  Don't know who would do such a thing, though.12.gif

MrC:  Welcome to our humble abode.  Just remember, no culinary experiments in here!3.gif   Shivers at the thought of such a thing.3.gif

hym: I'll get the "party favors" for you. Might be fun on a long road trip... And I've always wondered what your avatar was. Can you tell me?

DioAngel: I've got a few more weird stories but some people might find them disturbing, and with the amount of Mods here...

N_O_Body: What is/are the IRA and Nelsons Collumn? Is the collumn in a place called Trafalgar Square or am I thinking something else?

Menotyou: Place the "food" in a toilet and run. 19.gif **looks out window to see toilet fly through roof of nearby house, crushing a parked car.** It works for me!

Seeing The_Dalai_Llama here reminds me, does anyone have a link to the Llama Song that works? Mine doesn't anymore...
