First I must say i'm sorry for not posting last night, I was a bit tired and was busy with some other priorities. Now the answer to the west...4478-is the combined penalty total of each member of the Broad Street Bullies from 1972-1976.

Going out on a limb here cuz most of what i could dig up resulted in malls being built nearby or after demolition... The Hartford Civic Center where the Whalers played was located next to the Civic Center Mall. The Mall was part of a larger 4 block complex which included the home arena of the Whalers.

You might say I've given up. The questions being asked are too ridiculous for a trivia contest, and I don't have the time or the patience to spend 3 hours looking for an answer only to be beat out by 30 seconds and have that time wasted. MiniMark, you've heard my suggestions; I only hope you implement them for next season.

It does seem that we've hit a brick wall here. I do agree that the questions lately have been based on a lot of statistical abstractions, but there should be more to it than who can answer "Who won the 1988-89 Stanley Cup Finals?" first. If the question is easy, skill is removed, it's all a matter of who happens to be logged on at the right time. We haven't heard from MiniMark in over a week, so maybe he's got something up his sleeve...

Take a look at Season 2. Those are reasonable questions for a trivia game. Sure I still had to look up some stats and do some creative thinking, but I didn't need to find the link between Ryan Smyths 23rd goal in the 2003-2004 season and Bill Guerins 1st career assist and how it relates to the like lockout. Like sheesh..

First of all, im sorry for not being active. Some personal things have come up. Second of all, I know most people have "dropped" out which is fine. Thirdly I'm cutting back the season from 30 games to 25 as I can see everyone is anxious for some kind of result. The playoffs (if people still are participating) will continue with the top 6 teams (regardless of conference) will qualify with the top 2 teams will receive a bye. The first round will be a best of 5, the finals and the SCF will be a best of 7. There will be no awards this season apart from the Stanley Cup.

Next Season: There will be approximatley a 20-30 game schedule (depending on participants). You will still be placed in the "West" and "East" but will play everyone in the league two times and everyone in your conference one additional time. Playoffs will be determined by points for each conference. Questions will be easier but some will be a bit of a challenge. Not some question like Which team was the last to get a regulation tie.

Now before I proceed with the next question I need to know who's still game (apart from who's already told me) and who's not. I will post the next question this weekend (probably on Saturday Night).
