Oh, how I hate this one.

It happens from time to time in MS Word on my computer, and it's quite unpredictable. I'd lost a couple school reports before I'd finally had it with the darn program.

Nowadays, I do up text in WordPerfect 9. No crashes = happy camper.

Oh, how I hate this one...

untitleddk9.jpg

Happens every time I open iTunes, no matter how many times I reinstall.

This is, of course, Windows XP, it just looks like Tiger (The actual Tiger would never have any errors, because its perfect in every way. 3.gif)

This is the weirdest error message I get, I don't know why it happens, or what its too, but it happens about once or twice a week. I'll let you guys try and figure it out, because I gave up!

BTW, this computer was in a box december 24th, 05.

Fischbob:  Had you been going to the MS site and getting all the Win & Office updates??  I been running WinXP and MS Office for about 5 years now and have NEVER had Word crash on me.  And I did an entire Masters program on it.  What's your hardware, and do you have the latest drivers for all of it too??  Did you search the MS site for C+ runtime error topics??

MayorTim- Ooohhh that darn Instashield/Program updater. That one is sooo irritating! I just got a new laptop, and that suddenly kept popping up. Thought I had a virus or something. I dont know why it wants check for updates on programs it has nothing to do with, or where it comes from. Ive tried uninstalling but it doesnt look like you can get it off your computer. I turned it off, so hopefully I wont have to see it again.

I've had this one twice now, on my Mac of ~3 months. I've also had one or two freezes. Both of these errors only came about when using resource hungry software (Parallels virtualising Vista) on my slightly underpowered machine, so I'm pretty much inviting crashes 3.gif. Other than that, I can't think of any other errors at all, other than specific programs occasionally failing to respond, but force quit very quickly dealt with them.

Hehe... I know how to make Norton go nuts... if you run two instances of CCAPP.EXE at the same time, it gets really confused, gives an error, shuts down, leaving you with a Norton screen, partially loaded, that can't close. It's funny, maybe I'll do it sometime, when I'm not busy...

There is one error screen that's always fun...

Evil, it is... very, very evil...

Edit: Here's another one I just got:

Eh, I dunno, it's always done well for me, it just dosen't update enough, and digs so deep into Windows that uninstalling is a real pain.

at our school we have a program that would crash AFTER you closed it. quite funny actually because after you click don't send error report, the program would crash 3-4 more times. and it wasn't even running.

Bookworm: Noo. Nooo!! I cant look!!

Anyways, my computers pretty good. I almost never get minor errors. Its always the ever irritating, really horrible, haunting blue screen of death, or, the computer just shuts down all by itself.

I've had to redo a large part of a yearbook page because of that. 26.gif

I made a program about a year ago for making your own sequence of error messages as a prank. I haven't used it in a while though.

From my Application Services Log:

Faulting application McNASvc.exe, version 1.0.188.0, faulting module McNASvc.exe, version 1.0.188.0, fault address 0x000057c1.

I turned off the service after the 4th such crash.  Send the dump to Microshaft and to McAfee.

Sure you can have a copy! Though how to use it is semi-complicated:

When you open it you will come to blank, black screen.

In order to create an error message, you need to type in a line describing it in this format: Prompt;Title;Buttons

A great example would be Please remove all bologna from drive e:\ then hit OK.;Error in drive e:\;ok

remember to separate each field with a semi-colon ;

Button types include:

ok

okcancel

yesno

yesnocancel

critical (will create a giant red !)

abortretryignore

retrycancel

!

?

i

To make compound errors (After one error has been avoided, another appears) simply place another error code on the line below the first.

Click on the black textbox to execute your script-ola.

Please ask if you have any questions.

PS: Any one is open to use this BUT please use at your own risk, annoying someone with a never ending error (which can be ended [unless labeled as critical] using the task manager) can get them pretty ticked off at you.
