All Hail the Supreme (Sand) Wirdle!

Csgcseri Come join me, Jacky, and the others. We are building a replica Sand Wirdle in front of the concession stand on the beach. We are having a cookout later.

Hester You can come join us too at the beach party. We need flaming musical entertainment!

Bakercity Sure! Come on. Your farm in Old Schulmania is not that far from Risa Beach. We'll comp you a week. Then, come to our beach party... DioAngel is starting a limbo line!

Vandy Thank you for stopping by Schulmania again. The nose will be back on the grindstone in just a week's time, so I am glad to get a little more here before I head on back to the salt mines! You are more than welcome to buy more bonds. Exploration is continuing to the south and east by land as a new, stronger fleet of ships is prepared to sail west. These short term bonds will allow for expeditions to begin the rapid exploration and settlement needed to satisfy demands. In the 3 districts, housing demand ($, $$, $$$ combined) stands at ~25,000 - and there's only 85,000 in the nation right now! I am glad you like the guides. I thought it would be good to help orient someone who comes new to Schulmania and wants to place everything in context. I have plans for more graphical indices. One being a biographical index showing who is who and how they are related and so forth. Maybe a governmental flow chart. And also a district by district index to help those who want to see one place develop over time. I am glad you like Old Schulmania. It has been fun to do more rural areas. I want to have a variety of landscapes. Everything is a bit miniaturized though, as I try to give the illusion of greater distances between places. It does seem to be a bumper crop this year, doesn't it? The cats generally hunt in the countryside surrounding settlements, but they like a nice home cooked meal now and then too! I like the stone walls, too. They are fun. I have to keep from overdoing them!

For the current update, Risa Beach, you are welcome to come stay there anytime. The resort itself is from Goldiva. I got it on the EA exchange long ago. It is of a style and scale which fit well into the surrounding cityscape. The Supreme Wirdle is a mighty huntress. Though weighing in at about 5 pounds (2.5 kg), she possesses great strength and fine hunting skills. Many cats are solitary hunters. Some enjoy hunting parties. Cats innately possess great strategies... they would make brilliant generals, if Schulmania had an army. In case anyone is wondering, the current status of the military is: none. I am glad you like the blue tiled church. I got it off of the STEX. It is actually a Portuguese church. I see it rarely used and thought this would be a great place to showcase it. I am glad you like the Sand Wirdle. The Sphinx gives me a great chance to include another monument, of which Schulmania has just a few.

Rahjan Come on over! After the limbo, we are gonna skip shells on the water at the shore. Then, off to the cookout at Nemo's!

Jrhnemo Sure! You are just 2 blocks from the water. And you have plenty of space to host the cookout. When should we be over?

Topcliff Kinka is due to gain her fame in exploration. Details coming soon... to a CJ near you! (Promotional consideration provided by Kinka's Explorers-R-Us)

ky72x Come on over anytime, Kyle! The water is great and Jacky's doing the cooking for the cookout. Hester is providing the music and Vandy has brought over some games. It's gonna be great! Governor Cawale and her entourage will probably drop by, so this party will certainly make the tabloids!

It seems Mr. Fledder tried to rig the results. I say that deserves capitol punishment. Dispatcher, I need a few cruisers down here to arrest someone for embezzlement.

Atkinos: Schulmanidad - Gateway to the Southlands

Everyone remembers Schulmanidad , right? It's the home of Risa,  the first resort in Schulmania. Well, the good times continue to roll in the most southerly of Schulminion cities. First, Risa's popularity has continued to swell. Despite the fact that other towns are developing sandy beaches, none can top Risa. In fact, Risa is considering a massive expansion past the borders of Schulmanidad for a vacation destination like none other. This update, however, will focus on the growth in residential, commercial and industrial components of this "Gateway to the Southlands".

First, an overview of this southern reaches of Atkinos District.

    21wideallye2.jpg

Growth has pushed Schulmanidad all the way to the district line. Furthermore, exploration in the Plains of Wirdelonia mean Schulmanidad will continue to grow as the starting point for expeditions and the return point for the goods brought back from these excursions.

Let’s look a little closer at the town as it is now.

    2sdwide1da0.jpg

Older parts of Schulmanidad are at the bottom of the image. Dense new development has occurred to the south. The east (left) features new neighborhoods. The center and west (right) feature new commerce and industry. Raw materials processing and finishing has spurred a lot of the growth in Schulmanidad.

    2sdwide2iu8.jpg

South Central Schulmanidad features the North Coast Highway, now running all the way to Wirdleonia. At the center is an industrial park. In it, hundreds of workers, craftsmen and artisans create many of the goods used for household and commercial purposes.

As we begin our journey, let us recall that Schulmanidad started out as agricultural land, part of Old Schulmania. Some remnants of this farming past are preserved in Schulmanidad.

    2sdwide2iu8.jpg

Juan Rushour has built a shop next to his farmhouse. Here, he processes and crops and sells them or ships them out to Schulmanicus, for a tidy profit.

    2sdhse5rz6.jpg

In this wider view, one can see his extensive holdings. Across the old farm road are the fields of Benedict Sinclair, another prosperous local farmer.

    2sdhse1rr3.jpg

Parque Ernesto is the social focal point of the neighborhoods south of Old Town.

    2sdhse1app0.jpg

Parque Ernesto is named for Dr. Ernesto, Schulmania’s first cardiologist. His old family farm occupied the space where the development was built. Homes overlooking the park sell at a premium. In this neighborhood, successful entrepreneurs such as Fallon Oneforfore and C. S. G. Magyar live. Magyar’s penthouse occupies the entire top floor of the taller building (to the left) at the back of the park, Oneforfore’s the one on the right.

    2sdhse2wz5.jpg

Parque Ernesto is not the only beautiful public space in the neighborhood. Residents in these villas enjoy the fountain, recently installed by the Atkinos government.

    2sdhse10rj2.jpg

Nearby, Oviedo Marketplace offers consumers a great variety. Across the street, workers at Debussy Cat Toys (left) and Hester Cat Food Cannery (right) provide the good needed by the feline population.

These two are just a few of the new industries in the industrial sector of Schulmanidad. Over 15 crafts and trades have facilities here, employing hundreds of Schulmanidadenses.

    2sdhse4bs8.jpg

Near Parque Ernesto, at the south end of town,  are the Vandy Machine Shop and the Phat Phurniture buildings.

    2sdhse6rm1.jpg

At the base of the hill is Linda’s Art Supplies and at the top is the distribution center for Pared-Banca, a store with locations in nearly every town.

    2sdhse7we5.jpg

Heavy manufacturing takes place here. Cloth for the tailors and made here (left) at Mika Mills as well as pharmaceuticals (right) at Abcivvis Apothecary Manufacturers, Ltd.

    2sdhse8za7.jpg

Various talented craftspeople operate here. The largest in this image is NAM Tool & Hardware Fabricators.

This increase in population and prosperity make Schulmanidad the perfect starting point for southerly explorations, which are set to commence.

Sounds like a great party! Food, music, and games, I must be there! *Packs one bag and heads over to RB*

I agree with Leo: pure awesomenessositynessologynessosity. Nice variety of farms there, and the canal looks good. I see that the bear(s) have returned! I thought that they were hanging out back in Old Schulmania!

    Keep up the excellent work!

Snaps to John, our great poet! Now, to show up Explodingsims because I have to. That update, having now read it all, is supremenessosity in like a megasupermetahyperosityness coolium enchiladurritachoquitoness with extremelynessosity baked into the megasuperawesomenesshyperosity crust. Now, beat that! Seriously, great update and I hope you don't mind the double post. Remember, I'm partially related (somehow) to the SW!

Well, I better catch up with my replies, and here they are.

    Minor Update

    08-06-07 at 9:45 PM

I really think Chicken King would pressure the competition real bad... Jealous guys...

Anyway, I think that Chicken King will rule on! (All hail the King of... erm... chicken!

    Soliciting Funds

    08-07-07 at 11:25 AM

Nah, I think I'll pass on bidding for all that, even bidding on Chicken King 'cause I've got erm... uh... Chicken Ki- no wait, that's what I'm trying to avoid... uh.. Pizza... Think! Think! Um... King! Yeah, I've got Pizza... King... I'll be quiet now.

    Chicken King Franchise Auction

As I typed up earlier, I will not be a participant in this auction. Oh well... Chicken King will have to be where I eat, not work...

Atkinos: What's New In Old Schulmania

    08-08-07 at 3:43 PM

Mmm... that update was foody. With new vegetable farms, I think that the population is being well fed, but the pastures with their vast amount of cows probably will make the meals tastier! P.S, with that, are there any dairy farms there? Anyway, this was a pretty interesting update, that made me want a snack that involved cheese.

    Atkinos: Welcome to Risa Beach

    08-12-07 at 8:30 AM

Well, if anyone has anything bad to say about this update it's me. For starters, it's perfect. Absolutely wonderful. That's it. It makes me want to leave home and go to Schulmania right now. With it's excellent looking houses and it's seemingly wonderful beach, it really looks like paradise.

It looks like a combination of city and beach, which means a good chance of fun, but I question whether the beach is suitable for younger people to swim in (the water, not the beach) as the ground under the water drop pretty violently and suddenly. rather steep. Anyway, I'll keep on going with this one. (I typed up too much. Muahahahaha.)

Horgonn Heights seems like a good place to be living at, unless you're close to the cliffs, fall off one of the top level windows, and tumble down the cliff into the water. Ugh... that wouldn't be good, especially in a business suit.

About the church, I think it looks pretty good, yet a change in textures would be nice. They just don't really look quite as realistic as I'm fine with.

Now, the Sand Wirdle. Absolutely amazing! Hybrid cat and hybrid guy with a silly hat on. Interesting, but with the fact of erosion due to wind, (cross out water; it's above the shoreline) no wonder it needs 100 workers to fix it up!

P.S, what did Mattoman say in the first place? It was deleted before I could read it.

Atkinos: Schulmanidad- Gateway to the Southlands

    08-13-07 at 10:02 PM

Indeed I do remember Schulmanidad; that's where Risa Beach is! (picks up sunglasses) I think that It's really starting to prosper, judging by the update. Looking for more on this!

Anyway, I can't wait for the next update! Looking for more!
