Hey there, I'm working on learning the B.A.T and in doing so I started working on a building that I think STEX would like which is the Tampa Theater, built in 1926.

I will also make

-Am South Bank Building (100 N. Tampa)

-Rivergate Building (400 N. Ashley)

-Bank of America Building

-Floridian Hotel

-Kress Building

-Verizon Building

-Park Tower

-Sky Point Condiminum

-Trump Towers Tampa

-Sun Trust Building

-University of Tampa (Tampa Bay Hotel)

-Sam Federal Courthouse

-Original county courthouse (burnt down)

-TECO Power Plaza

-Tampa Marriott Hotel

Depending on what I'm able to get done more will come.

I would enjoy the help of the veteran members as I'm reading the tutorial and building at the same time, so thus far I only have the basic part of the building created.

Here is a picture of the Tampa Theatre

Here's what I've been able to do so far...

Not very impressive but a start none the less...

This Excites me, since from what I recall, you like old buildings like me...so I cannot wait to see what you come up with!

Cool to see you jump into BATing! On the marquee, the real pic shows a sans-serrif font (no hooks on the end of the letters) and it looks like a serrif font is being used. Try switching the font to some non-serrif font. Arial comes to mind. With a luittle tweaking of the letters, you could get it exactly like the real thing, if you have the time and want to go into that level of fanatical realism (which I tend to dabble into in my own BATs at times).

Need any help? I'll lend ya a hand if you need something.

Looks, like a good start so far. Good luck and I hope to see more. I travel to the Tampa area alot so most of these buildings are familiar to me. When your done with these buildings, would you consider doing St. Pete/Sarasota area buildings, cause there are some nice ones there too.

I made some progress I added windows and made an extruded model for oyu to see a little better.

I'm reading the tutorial on how to make the window model things, but I don't want them to be transparent so I gotta figure that out!

Dupantfan24: it's funny I live near Tarpon Springs, and I've not been to St. Pete since I was 5. I can't recall any of the architecture there, but I'm taking a girl there on a date soon so I'll check it out.

Not a bad start. If you don't want your windows to be transparent you can just put any old shape in there as long as it covers the space. Best of luck in your efforts. BAT can be tricky but if you put in the time it has a lot of rewards (it took me a good 4-5 months before I had produced anything that could be released).

EDIT: Actually just looking at your front wall it looks like not all your windows were on the same plane when you attached them to the spline. That'll give you trouble later on when you go to put textures on. It's something you'll have to fix.
