Unwanted Lots

I've organized, re-organized, and............yes................organized my plug-ins folder and yet I have lots that I don't want anymore. As you know, the name of the lot in the game may ore may not have anything to do with the name of the file. Is there anything out there in Sim Land that will help me find that damn plaza lot in my plug-ins folder that I don't want anymore.

lol...........I guess you just met Miss Misery, my friend. The only way I can think off is going through the files one by one and open them with LE or the other tool (SC4tool I think its called) and look at the picture. Long and painful......... That's what I did, when the name ain't ingame or is different from that in the plugin.

One solution that is just as painful is to delete everything, start from scratch, and download all of the plugins right from the beginning. That is, if you have the time. Then please put them in individual folders!! I learned my lesson too but I learned it early.

you really do not have to delete everything and download them again, you could always save them to CD or DVD and then place them into folders to organize them after you delete them from your folders

K, standard trick to find a file causing trouble, or a lot  you don't want.

Create a folder on your desktop.

Take half your plugins and move them here

Restart the game. If the lots still there then the half still in your plug ins contain the lot.  If not its the half on your desk top.

Create another folder on the desktop.  Put the half you have found not to contain the file into it.  Then split the remaining files into 2 - half to the desktop (make sure you keep them separate folder from the ones you have confirmed don't contain the file)

restart game, check.  Put the set that are clear into the folder with the first half and repeat with the remaining files untill you have found the file.

This will probably need to be opened in the Reader, which is beyond my skills.
