Game Plugin's

I am new to the forum, and i don't know if i should post here.   Some of the plugins that I downloaded work well and some don't show up at all. I loaded some this mourning, like the "Navy Ships"  by whom i dont remember, they don't show up in the game. The plugin called "Additional God Mode Terrain Tools" one of many that i hoped would work does not work. Some of the files need to be extracted and run to install and some are just dropped into the plugin folder. I am running the SC4 Deluxe with all updates from EA.com. Can you help me??

The additional terrain tools run fine for me.  They show up in the various terraforming menus.  Don't you now have some fault line items?

Be sure when you unpack a zip that you read any document with it.  Also, your zip files should really wind up away from the game, and only the installable files should go to plugins.

I am new too and not sure if this question should go here.  I have a similar problem with some of the downloads not working but I seem to be able to solve most by downloading the dependencies (took me a while to work that out).  My latest problem is that I seem to have lost some of the graphics in the game.  I don't have any driveways in my residential anymore and the medium plaza has lost it's fountain.  Also, the flower gardens have no flowers and the stadiums are just a big lots of dirt.  I still have cars and people and there are trees on the footpaths etc but the rest seems to be missing.

I get a message when I start up my city of "missing plug-in pack 1850187694". Am guessing this is why my graphics are weird.   Anyone know what this is and where I might get it from?  Any help would be great.  Thanks.....

Same here !! One of the church plugins ground goes black, sorta like you can see underground. Ther are dependencies, but to find them all will take a while.

I believe that the message " Missing Plugin" means that you might have deleted that pack some where along the line. I have gotten this also and a brown box appears that says "Sim City".

Also, make sure your graphics settings are set to high. The game resets these settings to low when you update it. Additionally, make sure you have the two Buildings as Props downloads from the official site.

Query your brown box to find out what lot this is, then go back to your downloads and read the lot description again  You are missing some dependency or you didn't put all the right files in the plugins folder.

A plugin with the BAT consists of .sc4lot, .sc4desc, .sc4model files.  These may be all or partly combined in a .dat file.  Be sure all lthe content is in your plugins structure.

If you can't find the information you need in the local files, look at the page on the STEX for possible dependencies you may have missed.  It is important to read this carefully.

Of late, my BAT lots are being supplied as .dat files only.

So i've got a whole load of prop packs and plugins i download but when i go to place certain lots, like a 3rd party bus stop, i get brown box tied with string with 'simcity 4' on it appear instead, is this a missing dependancy or something else?

I would think that it was a dependancy. Find the plugin and destroy it, redownload the same file and see if it works. I have had luck with this method.

Some item is missing.  If this is a BAT lot, make sure you have the .sc4model, .sc4desc and .sc4lot files in your plugins.  Also, if there is a .dat file, put it in too.  See the reply above about these files.

when i run simcty 4 terraforming tool a box saying directX cant be loaded mayby there is another application that uses directX if it is not the case check the readme file for information. it really doesnt help me whatever ido that box keeps poping up. has anyone had this problem before and have fixed it please HELP!! me. i dont know why it wont work i have a dell xps computer the best there is and directx 9.0 all the raquirments needed someone plz help!!

I have not ran into that problem. The thing I would suggest is to completly destroy all SC4 files and reload. Then hit EA.com for the updates. This is only a idea.
