how do i widen highways

ive seen pictures off highways that are 4 lanes on each side wide how do i widden the highway and or and avenue?

I don't know of anything that does that now. Can you tell us where you found the pictures? Or show us the pictures?

To do that, you need to download the NAM and Rural Highway mod found here, and then drag two stretches of ANT next to each other, then drag a diagonal on the end of each piece, and then straiten it out, so that it is 4 tiles across. then drag two strips next to each other in the middle.

Do you mean Turning Lanes? Or are you on about a previous version of Sim City? I don't think it's possible to 'widen' highways in SC4.

Erm... those pictures were drawn, you do know that, don't you? The user was asking if it's possible to do that, not showing that you can.

The thing is, a wider 4 lane highway is in development.  Check out the RHW (rural highway development project) fourm in Modding: transit networks.
