Ok, I know it says use at own risk, but I picked up a Trojan using the SC4 Terraformer. It sucks. Now I have to re-install the game, because now residential zones won't develop, even on easy mode. I don't know if I'm the only fool here, but you can't even add comments about that file. I guess I should have known better.

Hi,

That was the old version. The latest version is in the Modds and Downloads section. It was 9.0c. Yes, that is the latest version.

    Hello,

First off this should have been posted in the SC4Terraformer Support  Thread.

We had a problem during testing with a virus detection.  We thoroughly checked into the possibilities and came to the conclusion that it is a false positive.  What happens is sometimes for some unknown reason to us the installer used by SC4TF can create false positives.  What I can recommend is that you uninstall SC4TF and delete the installer and redownload.  If this problem persists, Wouanagaine the creator is away for another week or so on vacation.  When he comes back he may be able to send you a special copy of the program using a different installer or something.

Oh if you scan your computer and the trojan is only in the .exe files of SC4TF this more than likely means that it is a false positive.  Also to back up that it isnt from us, if you really do have a virus, is that there have been more than 7,000 downloads and now just 2 complaints about viruses with the final version.

Fair enough, I won't be downloading it again. It doesn't explain why I can't develop Res in my cities anymore. Sorry about my horrible language.

My virus scanner looks at downloads on the way in and is very sensitive to trojans (McAfee).  I downloaded that file, and did not get a trojan.  What scanner did you use that found it had a trojan?

The Trojan warning was a bogus error message caught by Norton Internet Security. SC4TF DOES NOT touch anything in the simulator. It CANNOT in any way prevent Residential from developing in your cities. It has to be attributed to a mod that you may have installed.

Well it was not Norton it was AVG, I also thought it may be a mod, but after my re-install, I ran it with no modds, not even an imported song, same result. I can't explain it, yet. I wish the answer was easier. All I know is that it worked, now it doesn't. Thanks anyway.

I had a virus report yesterday with SC4Terraformer and I too am using AVG. I suspect it is a false report as I have had SC4T for several weeks and this only happened yesterday after an update.
