With the help of Dirk and kbooms1w, the EA landmarks are now up!

    Access here:  http://homepage.mac.com/zelgadis/FileSharing1.html

@guitarist4816:  Yes, they can be hosted on Simtropolis.  It is ultimately up to Dirk as to whether or not he wants to do that.  Mostly, this is for the Mac community, so I thought it prudent to host the files myself in order to keep everything on the level.

@maremet:  I'm not sure what else you can do with the file.  Aspyr told me that only one line was changed.  I can't remember exactly the wording, but it was something like this:

    nopartialbackstoringofcopies:  true

It was something like that.  You could try changing some other things and seeing what happens.  I'm not a programmer by any stretch of the imagination, so I'm not the go-to guy on this.  3.gif

Especially the landmarks. I got most of them from Aspyr when the link was still live, but not all of them were included.

A note about BAT and Lot Editor:They will download, and appear correctly on the Windows side of an Intel Mac (with Boot Camp). However, unless you have SC4 installed on the Windows side, neither program will run.

I'm guessing the Lot Editor and BAT could never work on a Power PC G4. It would probebly be too slow for me to run any way.

Thanks for the EA Landmarks I tryed to download them everywere but it wouldn't work.

You do deserve some sort of reward.

They only work on Windows, and even if you have Windows on an Intel mac, you need the Windows version of SC4 installed. Along those lines, would it be possible to override the requirement to have SC4 installed to use Lot Editor or BAT? Would this even be legal?

Wow, now that I didn't know...

I don't see any reason why it would be illegal to override that particular function.  I think the big issue is comprimising the functionality of the lot editor.  I reckon it ties into SC4 for a reason...

But would it even be possible to override it on BAT. EDIT: Also, do you think it would be possible (with permission of course) to get the NDEX global essentials on your site. The version on STEX is an exe, and File Juicer only extracts a text file for some reason. There was a non exe version once upon a time, but as far as I know, it has been removed.

I just got SC4 a few months ago. Do they not make BAT and lot editor (I don't know the difference between those) for PowerPC mac's?

Hmmm...  I was not aware of this issue.  I'll have to ask before uploading, of course.

Great stuff man... I have played SimCity since my PC days in SimCity Classic DOS (2 floppies man!) Since then have had all of them on PC, and when I switched to Mac 3 years ago (ye baby), now SC4. Your work and files and support are greatly appreciated by a now loyal Mac switch user. I am just now getting back into my SimCity 4 game play. I was never into mods much, but after joining this forum I see I have a lot more to learn.

Are there any graphics mods that allow full power of the ATI 9800 Pro MacSE (256mb) I hate to say it, but ATI seems to be a junk card for SimCity.

I have that, but I don't remember where I got it for Mac. I think that it was from Aspyr.

    Highway interchanges are now up!

Be ABSOLUTELY SURE you read the instructions in this thread:

    https://www.simtropolis.com/forum/messageview.cfm?catid=105&threadid=65153&highlight_key=y&keyword1=rh%20update

It is best if you read the entire thread.  If not, at the very minimum, read the post on the second page by jjakucyk that was posted on 07/12/05.

If you do not read this, you are guaranteed to mess up the installation!

Special thanks to Tropod for making this and to kbooms1w for making it available to me.

    w00t!!!!

Another good thing to add would be the original menu management lots, by Andreas Roth. File Juicer can only extract a single text file (sound familiar?). There was supposed to be a Mac compatible download at this thread but I couldn't find it.

    *cough*dead*cough*

You can download these on a PC if you are unable to make an account on the official site, for example if you lost your serial number

Another mod that doesn't juice, don't know what the deal is with certain mods. I'll run the .exe and post the files at the Mac Archive, but don't tell anyone...

Thanks. My Mac runs Windows through boot camp, so I already extracted the files, but I'm sure that other Mac users would appreciate this.

Need a NAM (network addon mod) for simcity 4 for mac. otherwise its impossible to have anything other than low wealth residents cuz commute times are terriblt even when jobs are just across the street. is there anything you can do to get this specific mod for us mac users???

The only difference is it's not in an Windows exe installer, so you need to read the readme file carefully for it to work properly.

I did exactly what the readme said.. and it is not working properly. Funny thing is parts are. Im able to make roundabouts and diagonal streets... and thats it. the menu buttons appear with a large array of neat new items. but if i go to click one i cant place anything in my city the cursur just turns red. no special overpasses, elevated rail on top of road.. none of that.

And when i do my experimental city, i still get no job zots. (i did an experiment to isolate commute time problem: 20 % tax on everything but high wealth, and all forms of education. within a year, a full city of medium and high wealth jobs, commercials, and eventually, only hi tech industry. after a while the no job zots start appearing on HI WEALTH RESIDENTS ONLY and attributes abandonment to commute times... houses with commuters walking across the street having high commute times.

now when i downloaded nam, i read the readme and put the nam.dat file and 1 of each file from every folder in my plugin file in the simcity4 data file.

my plugin file is as follows:

SC4_RH_Deluxe_Update1 (with a space so it is listed and loaded first) background3D0.png

    ~all the way to ~

    Background3D4.png

All of the NetworkAddonMod_ files (all of the optional ones as well as 1 of each of the automator and transit files)

    and lastly the NetworkAddonMod.dat file

I simply placed these files in the plugin folder upon download. no extracting, installing, or zipping. Please tell me what i have done wrong.

It's probably an older, conflicting traffic mod. That's the most likely reason, but it could be any pre-NAM file that conflicts. Try emptying your plugin folder, then putting everything made after a certain date back in.

Never mind, I just read your post all the way through.  The NAM has to be loaded first, so put all of the NAM plugins in a folder that will load first, and take the space out of the "SC4_RH_Deluxe_Update1."
