As a reminder to everyone, Trolca is not our slave who we can just command to do our bidding with, he is a valued member of this site and the SimCity community and is only doing this out of the kindness of his heart and the comradely he shares with his brothers who play Sim City 4. I strongly urge you all to refrain from nagging question like Is it done yet? and When will it be ready? Trolca will finish when he wants to finish and when he feels that his work is the best that it can be. I myself would like to thank Trolca for his ongoing efforts to grace SimCity with the beautiful trains. I believe that all of you should thank Trolca for what he has done. I am sorry if you found by rambling unnecessary.

    Trolca-
I'm still patiently waiting for something along the lines of a Ford Blue hauler with Ford emblems in the corners, and a picture of a `57 Skyliner. Maybe the number 1957 on the side. Hope I can expect it soon.
    -Fairlane
    quote>

I plan on making a set of cars with logos from a number of major auto makers. I'll use the 57 Skyliner image.

Some projects are quick and easy so I work on them inbetween others.

Congratulations on your 1000th post, Trolca!

In honor of the occasion, I made a modern passenger set.

Here's a 1000th-post commemorative car to go with it:

    BRF,

I think Trolca will be very pleased with that. You've done a very good job with the commemorative car.

I was a bit worried about what the new auto rack was look like with a big old car on the side. I am much more into the real look, but I have to say that is one good looking rack. Thanks for making it.

Many thanks for the car carrier.5.gif
It looks even better than I expected. This car will soon be gracing the rail lines of my sim cities.
Thanks again for the many wonderful creations you have made, and those soon to come.

Work is still looking great Trolca!

I was thinking today at work and realized there aren't many rural related train cars other than the CSX grain haulers and such. So I was wondering, could you make 2 cars with these logos for the respected companies:

Thanks again for all the work you've done!

I planned on making a JohnDeere boxcar. Thanks for the images.

For now, here are some custom boxcars. I didn't plan on doing none requested work but these are an exception.

It's really fantastic!!! I just thought 37.gif, maybe it's necessary to import some goods from the Old Continent, for example, cars.
There are those nice wagons with Crislers, Fords etc., but no VWs, Citroens, Volvos... Please, don't forget about us, Europeans 2.gif Even if some of your sims won't like them, it will be possible to throw some rotten tomatoes on them 9.gif I've read that somewhere in the States one man specially bought a new Peugeot so that he could make some money while allowing to bash it... You could develop even a kind of import industry, he he

    Trolca-
I don't mean to just keep building up requests, but along the same lines as Bougeois, I would like to see some foreign car companies. Specifically the Australian Holden Corporation. Even though I live in the Northwestern U.S., and have never seen a Holden, I still think it would be neat to see a Holden carrier. You are welcome to take as long as you'd like.

I don't know if you've already done this (it'd take a bit too long to read through 45 pages of stuff), but could you make a UP 4-8-8-4 Big Boy Steam Locomotive to replace the built-in steam engine?

There's three problems with the UP 4-8-8-4 Big Boy Steam Locomotive.
    1) The curves are too sharp. Something that long needs larger curves.
    2) There's no way to include the tender. To me it wouldn't look right without one.
    3) I don't know how to altar the drive wheel animation so it looks natural as it moves.

I hope I don't get in trouble for double posting.

Some projects can be completed in less than a half hour, others longer. The SD40 for example still isn't complete. There's part of the S3D editing in the Ilive Reader I don't understand which is preventing me from completing it.

It takes less time on each engine/car when I create them in sets.

Sometimes I wonder if people would be satisfied with a tank engine.42.gif They fit into a freight type background, are quite short, and best of all, have no tender. They also fit better into the scenery than an 1860's 4-4-0. I am not making a request, just posting my idea here.

    Trolca Transit Authority
    for immediate release

    [simCity, SimNation, 20 May 2004]

Following the success of its passenger rail service, Trolca Transit Authority was recently pleased to announce electrified elevated and subway light rail service connecting SimCity with SimNation.

    /idealbb/files/BRF_TrolcaSet_ElSubCarDetail.JPG

TTA has been pleased to see that ridership is at record high numbers, and that utilization has far exceeded expectations.

In response, TTA is expanding both heavy and light rail service. We have aquired several electrified cars from WMATA (DC-Metro), to serve on our elevated routes.  Also, we have aquired additional passenger cars from GO Transit, and just purchased extra locomotives from Caltrain's surplus.

    /idealbb/files/BRF_TrolcaSet_Extras_v2.JPG

All aquired vehicles have been fully rebuilt and refurbished at BRF's Rolling Stock Maintenance Facility, under contract with TTA.

Trolca Transit Authority looks forward to continuing to provide the high level of service that SimNation has come to expect, today and into future.

    Thank you for riding TTA!

    ----
In other words, I updated the Trolca Transit set on the STEX.  Enjoy!

To give it a bit of history, the former GO Transit cars were purchased from GO, which surplussed them as part of their rolling stock replacement program.  The paint shop does not yet have a full decal set for the Bombardier cars, so it traced the lines from the old GO livery to create a compatible paint scheme.

The former Caltrain F40PH was surplussed by Caltrain when it introduced its Acela Baby Bullet service, and sold to TTA.  Due to its immediate need, the logo and stripe were quickly painted over and the locomotive was put into service.

The DC Metro cars had suffered moderate undercarriage damage due to derailment in a yard accident.  WMATA's insurance declared the cars a loss, and they were sold as scrap to TTA.  BRF's Rolling Stock Maintenance Facility (under contract with TTA) built new undercarraiges for them, and rewired the car controls and signage to TTA standard.  As the cabs were not a match for the older TTA cars and the car sides were slightly different, the paint shop again improvised a scheme for them.

In a true illustration of irony in action, I am now running my own BRF-branded freight service, along with exclusively Trolca-branded passenger service.  That's funny. 18.gif

That ESPEE car really uses color well.  It looks right at home with the Southern Pacific equipment.

And now I'm going to have mystery nightmares involving Dustin Hoffman. 6.gif
