Disappearing Walls--Please Help

When I download certain things, I do not get the whole building.  Sometines the walls are missing.  All I get is the inside of the building.  Can anyone please explain why this happens and let me know how to fix it.  Thanks.

I do not know how to post a screenshot.  This is in general though.  I dont know if there is a certain "pack" that needs to be loaded.

You can attach an image with a post, or upload an image to a website that will host images. Search for 'image hosting' using your favourite search engine.

to post a screenshot, the file needs to be  hosted on another site. try Imageshack.us for your image hosting needs.

once the picture is hosted, you click on the Insert Image button

then you copy the text out of this box on your imageshack page

and put it in this popup box

and that's how you would post a screenshot. remember that forum rules say that the pictures must be less than 800x600, so you can put those values in the Width and Height boxes if you need to.

now let's move on to your problem.

if you've recently updated/patched the game, you need to go to your graphical settings and turn Building Quality and City Quality on high.

you also need to be running Rush Hour or Deluxe for any custom made content to work.

and third, you need to get the two Buildings as Props downloads from the official Maxis website (www.simcity.com). the links are on the Lot Editor page, and will only appear if your logged in and product registered. the Buildings as Props are the most common dependencies that lot makers forget to mention. you should try downloading them and see if it fixes the issue.

additionally, post your system specs as well. (Processor, RAM, Virtual RAM, Graphics Card, google if you don't know how to find them). this is so we can rule out insufficient computer power as the cause.

man prince of sims, i could have used this very nice tutorial a month or two ago when i first joined and was trying to figure out all the image hosting junk. sorry, not really on topic...

i think you're getting confused about what i said.

the Buildings as Props files that are available on the official website have the ingame buildings as props. on has the original SimCity buildings as props, and the other has the additional Rush Hour buildings ar props. this is so that lot creators can put the Maxis buildings on their lots.

the Landmarks as Props file that is available on this website adds a few landmarks that Maxis forgot.

having them both is never a bad thing, but you mainly need the two Buildings as Props files.
