I've had Rush Hour for quite a while, but didn't like it much before. Now that I'm a little more skilled, I thought I'd try it out again for the transit options it gives me. However, when I tried to install it this time, it told me that I have to have SC4 slready installed (which I do!), and doesn't allow me to go any further. What gives?

this topic should be moved to Bugs and Technical Issues

it's possible that somehow your installation of SC4 was damaged, but it still worked. most program installers look at the registry to determine if their requirements are on your system. it's also possible that the Rush Hour upgrade only works on an unpatched installation of SC4. i would suggest that you backup all your regions and plugins (if any) and unistall SC4. then delete any leftover files in the SC4 installation folder, and install SC4 again.

on a side note, if the version of SC4 and the version of Rush Hour are from different regions of the world, you're going to experience a lot of problems during gameplay. different region versions don't like each other.

additionally, remember to download the Rush Hour Buildings as Props file from the official website, along with all patches. download the patches only after you've installed Rush Hour. the Buildings as Props file is required for most custom content, and is available on the Lot Editor page. you're required to product register and login before the links are visible.

I think I'll just pass on the Rush Hour then...we moved and I don't have all of my SC4 CD's, so re-installing unfortunately isn't an option.

I don't know if any of those downloads are useful without Rush Hour, but I again will have to pass...I'm on really slow (28.8 on a good day) dial-up and avoid downloads like a smallpox quarantine ward unless I really need to download something.

Ah well, thanks for the input.

    Hello

i had the same problem when i try to install Rush Hour, because i had format my C: hard disk (sim city was installed in the D: ), and the registry was cleaned.

I had reinstall Sim city and now it's works

If you don't have the Simcity CDs, try to borrow them, you only need them to install simcity, then you can play with the Rush Hour CD.

    Mic

Note: i am Belgian, and I am not very good on written english, so excuse me for eventuals mistakes 2.gif
