I love the detail and accuracy....I lived in New York ever since I moved to this country and though I live in Texas now I am still a New Yorker...finally, an accurate new york....someone mentioned they lived just north of Mt. Sinai hospital....I went to school across the street from there...a small private school caled st. Bernard's....wow this CJ really brings back memories....keep up the good work and if you ever get a chance the outer borough's are ripe for "Simming"....is that a word?????...you know what i mean though lol

Just dropping to quickly reply to comments before I visit with family at the hospital and take my leave of absence.

BubbaGump, Thanks considering how great the CJ Edmonton was that’s a very nice compliment. I not only used paint to make the taxis but also any other vehicles you see on the streets of New York. I downloaded Mikeseith’s taxis when he released them and used them as a base, as you can tell they’ve been given a New York makeover to include all the real life details they didn’t come with. I also used the Maxis vehicles as a base to make my custom real world vehicles. The Lincoln Town Car driving on the Queensboro uses the Maxis black sedan as a base, again, Mikeseith inspired me to customize the car when he came out with his automata pack.

Crazychickensc12, Thanks, I just hope I can get the money together to actually buy some of them in the future. They would look fantastic in the city.

    Alfred.Jones, Thanks and welcome!

Squizer, Thanks for your support and well wishes.

Jacqulina, Thanks for the support. The buildings in the post from August 5th are pre-made 3D models that were made by someone else which are being sold by a vendor. They range in price from $30 to around $80. I just posted the pictures to show everyone what I came across and explain part of the reason behind having donations for the blog.

Maranello575, Thanks for letting me know about the sidebar. It’s something with using IE, it also happened with Simtropolis when I browsed with IE a couple years ago. Thankfully, most people have switched to Firefox.

Speed Devil, Thanks. Yes, the master behind those masterpieces, eingabehilfe, did a wonderful job creating them all. I hope they get many sales, including a couple of mine.

    Red1530, Welcome and thanks.

yrogory3, Once a New Yorker always a New Yorker. It’s a small world, my sister was born at Mt. Sinai and KyNYC right around there. I think there’s some other New Yorker’s following the CJ also. Don’t worry the outer boroughs will get they’re time in the spotlight also, New York isn’t only Manhattan. Staten Island and Brooklyn are about halfway complete, Queens is about a quarter of the way completed, and the Bronx is about 66% done.

    luigiguy, Thanks and welcome.

That’s all for now, we’ll resume with the CJ next month.

What I mean about the traffic thing is all of the abandoned buildings that will create. It's nothing to do with failur to yourself, but I find that a problem with the game. It shouldn't be that effective I think.

    Hello Hanson,

First, I hope everything is ok with your family.

I really like your work. On the regional view, and only with a few buildings, we already feel the NY ambiance. Well done!

Beautiful this Governor Island, I can see a lot of great BATs, especially the Castle Williams, where did you find it? Is it one of your creation?

Keep up this amazing work! This Cj is one of the best!

    See you next month!

Finally, some will recognize the city's signature stoplights, which I've made in BAT and plopped in the game as props. I'm trying to figure out a way to make them functional or replace the Maxis stop lights but for the time being they'll remain props.quote>

Wow I love this in game traffic lights. You should release them to the STEX for downloading!

    Hi all!

Long time no see. Don't worry, this thread's isn’t dead yet.

Sorry for making everyone wait so long for any kind of update. I just want everyone to know I've been very busy with real life and haven't found time to post the Roosevelt Island update even though it's been ready to go for more than a month. Though, I did find small openings of time to BAT and post updates over at the blog. Be sure to drop by the New York City Journal blog to check them out.

I have a feeling this CJ will be updated very much like the CJ Edmonton; updated once or twice a month but well worth the wait. We still have Roosevelt Island to visit so I'll be back with a full update on that and responses to your comments sometime later this week.

Stay tuned for more! (BTW I'm a man for future refrence2.gif)

    Personal Replies

    jacqulina, Thanks

Cornoosh, Welcome, thanks, glad you enjoyed the trip to Governor’s Island

tankmank, Thanks for the help. I have maranello575’s Trump World Tower already, you can just barley see it in the region shot.

Unfortunately, ah123ah123’s are a too big to fit in my New York. I scaled the blocks to be 4 tiles (north and south) wide and 12 tiles long (east and west). Many of his building’s are 6x6. I wrote him a message asking if he’d send me the models so I could adjust them but I haven’t heard back from him yet. I’m keeping my fingers crossed though, that would save me a lot of future BATting drudgery.

Cjah, Welcome, good to see you here. Thanks for the well wishes and support.

Ilikehotdogsalot, Thanks. The bridge in the Roosevelt Island Tram screenshot? Maxis made that, it comes with Rush Hour.

    dogscarletnyc, Welcome, another New Yorker.

Pinchman, Thanks and welcome, Castle Williams was made by me in BAT. I’m glad you like it.

Crazychickensc12, Welcome. Wait no more, it’s here (finally)

thetryer, Welcome. As you can see the region is in development. Development is slow for a project of this size and magnitude because I’m choosing to recreate most of the buildings in BAT rather than zoning everything. Don’t worry, the region will continue to develop over time

    Sim_Jesse, Welcome and thanks.

guitarist4816, Fear not. I’m finally back.

MiniMark, Really? Keep in mind there only eye candy props so far. Plus, it looks a little strange to have two stoplights next to each other. Though, I’m going to ask some members in modding fourm if they can be turned into working stoplights which will replace the Maxis stoplights. I’d rather release a functional mod.

st louis dude, Sure thing, a downtown development shot will be shown after this update.

Maranello575, Welcome. There was a small glimpse of Times Square in the 9/11 update on the blog. Don’t expect a formal update anytime soon but I’m sure I can whip up something special for New Years Eve.

BTW, Thanks for making Trump World Tower you did a good job with it. Do you have any more New York BAT’s planned?

Goin2Chicago, Welcome and thanks, a lot of hard work goes into the blog so I appreciate the comment. I’ll try to release some BAT’s to the STEX when I have time.

Squizer, Thanks for the support, my aunt isn’t fully recovered yet, but she hanging in there. Wow! I’m flattered and glad this is one of your favorite CJ’s.

O.K. on with the update. It’s about time we finally took our trip over to Roosevelt Island so with out further delay, here’s some highlights from Roosevelt Island!

We start are trip in Manhattan at the Roosevelt Island tram station, waiting for the tram.
