Oh by the way, I believe the foundation for the Ritz Carlton(It was going to be a Hilton, but was changed because of financial concerns) 55 story hotel is just about done. The beginning of the first floor is probably less than 2 weeks away!

The Grand Avenue Committee is making final preparations and meetings before ground breaks late this year or real early next year.

thanks! i'm currently redoing the windows so the vertices are at a minimum and so far looks identical to the first windows.

i'll be happy to redo the siding. nice links by the way.

the Grand Avenue Project has been changed significantly i believe, and for LA Live, better Ritz than Hilton (in my opinion, for city reputation).

anyway, i don't think i will work on those quite yet. what the city has built up to now is what i will build first, just incase those newer projects go throught some other changes in mid-construction.

L.A., i think, deserves a few more landmarks in simcity.

i don't have a set date for this thing to get done, but i think i can shoot for sometime within the next FEW months. thanks for the help guys.

Yeah, not many people know this, but the Tower currently has the highest helipad in the world.

I think the title used to belong to 2 World Trade Center Tower(south tower) of The World Trade Center before it collapsed.

Its possible that the International Commerce Center finished in 2008 will carry it.

The U.S. Bank Tower also is the tallest building in the world on a major seismic region.

in my opinion, we already rival any major WORLD city. first places people think of when they get here are Los Angeles, New York, and Chicago.

JDR brings up a lot of good development news. i bet a lot of simtroplis members also check out skyscrapercity.com

if you're really interested, check out the Los Angeles forums there under the North American headline.

there's a lot of cool stuff going on here (simcity4 in super fast forward mode it seems).

anyway, does anyone have any pictures of the base on any or all sides of the Library Tower?

also more importantly, i would like to know the window count from the first balcony down to... just above the lobby entrance.

i might walk past this thing this Saturday, but i'm probably not going to sit in front of a U.S. skyscraper and count the windows while all federal street cams watch me, lol.

I've tried so many times to count how many windows while sitting in the passenger seat  in a car on the freeway looking from L.A. Live, its impossible

i cant wait to see this one, there was one previously released and was top notch for its time, but now, with all the advances and BAT groups, this may out the other one.

wow! nice pics JDRCRASH. where do they have those models at? kinda looks like a concept model before it was actually built.

yeah actually i was being watched from the lobby of this thing about a year or longer ago when i was taking pictures in front. plus this structure has already been threatened twice i believe in the most recent years (wikipedia).

nice... 42 floors in between. thanks again. probably won't start up again on this thing until thursday (college reasons).

worked on it a little bit this weekend... i didnt feel like i got a lot done. figured out a lot of problems though. i can't upload pics til this weekend, my files are on my other pc. i got great shots this saturday too. funny thing is i forgot to take some of the base... it looks so great in the sky i forgot whats at my feet, lol.

anyone go see the spanish soccer team at hollywood and highland? miss universe and cobe bryant were there too. lots of people! i'll upload pics as soon as i can. lots of fun.

If I were you, i'd go with AON Center first .

As it is, people have been waiting for that abandoned BAT to be done.

Dunno what happened to the guy who was doing it.

Of course you could start on L.A. Live, but i'm trying to learn how to be BATer so I can try a wack at it.

For some reason, nobody's mentioned the Boneventure tower to be BATed.

i won't do la live because it isnt built yet. that's going to be a huge lot for SC4 though.

i was just looking at the cal plaza this morning, both cal plaza buildings look easy. but anything's easy compared to library tower . lots of odd angles on this thing. cal plaza is just a bunch of chamfering. base will be the hardest.

i don't know when i can release this, but this weekend i'm putting it into overdrive. i would like to finish this thing as soon as possible too, but i'm also a perfectionist on a lot of my projects. i can say for sure i won't take nearly half as long as the other one took.
