PT: Hey PT, your AJ is really nice!  AC team's 737 and A320 project is indeed active, though the updates are coming quite slowly.  The Boeing 777... actually, if you look back, I have many many pictures of the project not only in model development but in livery development as well.

simsmart: Ouch, that must hurt.  Try checking the recycle bin, provided you have not emptied it recently.  If you can't find it, I guess you'll have to redo those good-looking models.  Next time, however, send them to me, and I can do the converting to GMAX via Blender.

Now as you all know, the MD-80 has been on a hiatus due to a lot of RL business going on lately.  I've been able to free up more time, however, and am expecting to have the model done by the weekend.

Now, the strangest thing happend. I got everything back. Okay, I'll send them to you to be converted and textured. I was having so much trouble anyways. I'll send them over somehow probably by Monday, as I will be away for part of the weekend and the models still have some fine tuning.

But I *Sniff* Lost my San Andreas saved games... I finished the all of the story missions!

Members of the SimCity Aviation Group and the fellow SimCity Community,

I have an announcement to make.

Yesterday around 8:15PM my computer detected a virus and immediately informed me of the situation.  I immediately terminated the virus and took extra precautions.  In just a few minutes, the same popup came again with the same virus, so I closed all programs and freed up memory for my antivirus program to operate.  Within the next half hour even more viruses were detected and my antivirus was so busy attempting to terminate them.  My antivirus counted some 2000  viruses, spybots, trajan horses and worms before it was forced to close, either running out of memory or consumed by the viruses.  The virus ended up taking over my entire computer system, and every time I try to boot it up I get repeated blue-screens-of-death among other problems.  I believe the virus may have entered the system through the temporary internet files from any one of the numerous sites I was visiting (they were not bad or dangerous sites).

This is the Many of my BAT files and SimCity 4 files (including a 1.7gb plugins folder) are still there, and I haven't been able to create a backup.   Now, many of you are thinking this is the end and the files have been lost forever.  That is not true.  All of the files in my computer are in fact INTACT.  The virus mostly affected the computer system and not any of the files within.  This means there is a potential for me to recover any files and transfer to another computer/delete the virus altogether.  I am doing everything I can to recover my files and terminate the virus.  I have disconnected all of my computers from the internet and have contacted authorities.  Only my laptop runs on wireless internet using a good signal from the upstairs apartment.  This is my only method of contact to all of you for now.

While the MD-80 project may be lost forever, the 777 project will indeed live on.  People who have volunteered to create liveries (skyliner22, nihonkaranWS, supla007, bourneID) will either be continuing this project upon my request or sending the files to other airport developers such as AC team SHOULD I not be able to recover the files from my computer.  If I am able to recover files from my computer the 777 and MD-80 projects will indeed go on as normal either on my computer (if and when it is fixed) or another computer.  Otherwise, good luck with this project and take care of it.  I'll still be around to monitor you all and maybe even create a few liveries while I'm at it.

My fellow community, I deeply encourage you (especially those with huge plugins folders and BAT projects ) to get the best antivirus softwares and to be careful on what sites you visit and what you download.  This is the first time this has happened to me, and everything has turned out bad; I hope this is not the case for all of you.  To all, take care and of course, have fun playing SimCity!

I feel very sorry for you pilotdaryl, and I know how you feel, because I had this stuff too some months ago. Luckily I managed to backup my photo's and other important files. I surely hope you can as well.... I wish you all the luck in the world, and I personally hope the project will continue at the same rate, like it used to before you got all these problems. I'll keep on checking this thread, and I hope to see you around again when your viruses and stuff have been taken care off (for good, that is).

@pilotdaryl - Find out if one of your friends owns a copy of ERD Commander. I've used it to recover files from nearly dead hard drives in the past. It may not work if your boot sector is corrupt, though, so you may need a second hard drive with an XP install on it. If that works, copy the files from your old HDD onto the secondary one and you should be able to harvest all the files you need to get. Good Luck!

Ladies and gentlemen, I am proud to announce that both 777 and MD-80 projects will continue on the same computer.  Safe mode is able to open files and I will soon be backing up all my files onto a portable storage device, before reinstalling the system OS which is GUARANTEED to remove the malware.  Thanks for all your support and take care,

Aranho: Your Raffore International Airlines livery is done however my computer has been infected with a virus and for the past week has been in a state of disuse.  Every day comes with good news however, and this time its good news again.

My files have been recovered and placed on a portable USB storage device so reinstallation of OS will commence right away.  I must thank all of you for your help and your patience.  Cheerio!

PD glad to hear you could do the back up that was gonna be my suggestion to you when it first happened I had the same problem so I entered in Safe mode and backup up all of my importanat files onto a couple portable HD's-In fact I know run SC4 off of a Portable HD and still back it up to an even larger Portanble HD these things are pure gold I tell ya. anyways can't wait to see more pprogress once you get back in the swing.

Its good to hear the MD80 and 777 projects haven't been lost!

BTW, is there any way you could salvage that hanger and the lots for the cargo planes I sent you a few months ago? My HDD died recently and the PC repairer was too lazy to save the files on it, so I lost everything... (no backups, But I've learnt my lesson!)

I've spent over a month in 'hibernation' while my computer was being fixed...

I come with good news and bad news....

Ok I'm joking about the bad news; the good news is, my computer is fixed! 777 and MD-80 product lines will continue as usual by Saturday August 23.  We are very sorry for the inconvenience caused in this event and we hope that this event will not take you away from our top-quality service.  Thank you very much, take care all, and just for kicks, do a virus scan right now!

Just 5 days in, and I have to go into hiatus, yet again...

This one will be much shorter, though.

This is NOT another computer virus.  It's my computer itself.

I recently noticed my computer was slowing down on me.  Then I began getting notices about 'checking my hard drive.'  Just a few minutes ago, while I was minding my own business, my screen turned black and I noticed my computer was restarting.  After the restart, my computer loaded a temporary profile and warned me that my hard drive could be failing.  This may mean getting a new computer or a hard drive.  All files have been backed up, including recent MD-80 progress as shown on SC4D.  I have yet to decide what to do and when... hopefully soon.

That got you didn't it My hard drive has been fixed and I am baaack!

However, due to the considerable delays caused, I must now list my topmost priorities (in order) and some drawbacks:

- 777 real-life liveries

- MD-80 BATwork/texture creation

- my CJ, of course

- 777 livery - current reqests

As you can see, "777 livery - current requests" is at the bottom of the list.  I am trying to concentrate on having the 777s and MD-80s released as soon as possible.  So I'm sorry, but as of now 777 livery requests will be limited to current requests only.  "777 livery - new requests" isn't on the list at all, so sorry, until then I will be taking no or minimal livery requests.

More liveries to come soon!
