Are we going to get any models of the Dash-8 outside of hangar? I think that'd be pretty cool, especially if in Horizon Airlines livery =)

bourneID that is your 737-400?  So your name is Martin Brunken if your statement is true (readme file).  I found a whole pack of these planes (not only 737s but others too) in a pack of low-quality GMAX planes.  The liveries that will be released will be the same ones including the pack.  The readme also states that it can be used anywhere, anytime and no permission is needed.  Thats why these planes are in lineup for release.  However, the models have needed some fixing.

I think neongamer should be able to do a very good lotting job with your current projects, simsmart.  I can pitch in on texturing and lighting, too.

A big announcement

This team has gone into ups and downs and many changes have been made since we were formed.  This is a major change, a change in name: from 6 May 2008 and on, The Airport Team will now be known as the SimCity Aviation Group, most likely due to our new position in the SimCity airport market.  We have been involved in many projects, big and small, the most notable being our Boeing 777.  I've decided to go take another look around the SimCity community, which is lacking.  However, it's not really lacking anything at all... I poked around the SCJU and Adrian Union and found that both unions have thriving aviation communities.  I decided to get in on this.  As a result of my curiousity, the SimCity Aviation Group is now in business with both the SCJU and Adrian Union and taking livery requests for the 777 and other aircraft from both unions.

Or, I mite sound dumb asking this, but would it be possible to create, for me and other people a terminal for these 777? Hmm... sorry for the lack of replies... but my CJ update is coming along nicely and will be done soon (and 777 work will resume soon as well)

akhil1280: It will be released when it's released; target release is late summer-mid fall if you want to know.

simsmart: I think there's a tutorial on converting sketchup models via blender somewhere... can't remember where I found it...

Jayster: The 777 aircraft will use the same lots and jetways used in the ACE 747 pack; I've already arranged for this with Voltaire.  A new terminal/jetway set is in planning for now, and if I do decide to work on one expect work to begin in the summer.

Good news the SCAG is building up a site and may ask for a team room at SC4D when the projects begin to really develop...

An announcement from the SimCity Aviation Group

I began my aircraft-BATting business over a year ago with the Boeing 777.  That aircraft has been with me for a long time and will remain the flagship of the SimCity Aviation Group.  Now it's time to make decisions: should the Boeing 777 remain the only aircraft available from the SimCity Aviation Group?  Or should we introduce another aircraft series?

That dilemma has plagued me for many months.  I have finally made my decision.

These are the currently available aircraft (BATs) for SimCity sorted by market:

See that "None" in the short-range market?  Most of the aircraft being made in the SimCity aircraft industry are bigger and more modern aircraft.  That is why I decided to begin BATting the McDonnell Douglas MD-80.  The MD-80 is a short-range aircraft series perfect for the short-range market.  There are many MD-80s in service around the world today.

The MD-80 will be constructed alongside the Boeing 777 in the SCAG aircraft factory.  Using new modelling techniques and new skills, it will have a much shorter timeline than the 777 project.  The projected timeline is as follows:

Model completion - Late June

Texturing completion (RL airlines) - Mid-Late summer

Nightlighting/extra details - Late Summer-Early Fall

Release (RL airlines) - Fall

The available models will be the MD-81, the MD-82, the MD-83 and the MD-87.  Not only will real-life operators of the MD-80 be made, but the SimCity Aviation Group is open to requests for either real-life airlines or custom liveries.

Can we modd the default SC4 helicopters? Because I'm thinking of BATting an SK-76 to replace the hospital chopper...?

nihonkaranws: The model isn't finished yet, but when it is, I'll make sure you get a spot in texture creation!  Thanks!  Good luck with your tower!  Also, you can mod SC4 default helicopters, but it is very, very hard to do so.  Plus, the models used for helicopters/planes are quite different than the planes I am BATting (they are less detailed and require properly made texture templates to go with them).  I suggest you don't go into that yet... but what you can do is begin BATting that SK-76.  I look forward to it!

It's been all MD-80 for the past few days; I'm continuing work on 777 liveries for this weekend and on... I'm packed with livery requests lol.

Wow!!! I'd be glad to have you help!  Your photoshopping looks really good; I might even have you do some liveries for the 777 and the MD-80.  Your aircraft also look very good!  I'm sure nobody would have a problem if I offered those planes to the public market
