This is not a question about if it's possible, because I did it, accidentally. But before I go too far in trying to reproduce this phenomenon I thought I'd check the forum to see if the sloping tunnel is common knowledge that I just never knew.

EDIT: I apologize if this does not belong in this forum. I'll repost in General Discussion.

I've had a tunnel that has both ends on different elevations. But I have trouble going through it in UDI mode, i get stuck at one end.

Yes, it is possible, I have done it several times, but as davito says, sloping tunnels and underwater tunnels are hard to drive UDI through.

Actually they are not really any different from normal tunnels. (I built a city on mountainous terrain that practically relies on sloping tunnels of highways, avenues and monorail tracks.) With UDI, your vehicle will fall out of the tunnel if the straight line segment connecting both ends of the tunnel is above land at some point... which happens for "level" tunnels too, say, if you lowered the land between the tunnel entrances. On the other hand, actually your tunnels are usually sloping to a very small extent anyway, if you are not building on a completely flat piece of land.
