I'm back from NJ, what a long trip, anyways... Looks like a lot got done.

    edit

    Page 4!

    Here's a status update:

Scruffey is still working on most of my intersections but as soon as he is finished with that the American version will be moved to the Modding part and hopefully in the NAM.

I haven't seen Scruffy since I got back from New Jersey, so I assume he is working.

I have school on Thursday so my time working on making the park and LOT versions for the NAM will be limited.

Ok I have a status update.

For the American commerical version on Brick + Intersections I will be using what appears to be a common style, seen on page 1 (Franklin St & Twiggs St) and also a picture that Sparky provided me from Portland.

Once Scruffy sends me my stuff back I will add it and my part will be completed.

Here is a better picture, provided by Sparky The Penguin

    Tampa Version

    ___________

When this is finished I want to look into making a mod that changes the intersections, I'd like to add brick cross ways to Ave and Rds.

Great project. I have just found it and I already have the beta. Just perfect for residential areas and small towns. My suggestion is to have different DATs for the different wealth levels. Other than this you guys are just going teh exact way it should be done. Keep up the good work!

EDIT: Tell me something though: how does it behave together with some of the already existing tree mods. I had Andreas Roth's mod and it seems to me like they are incompatible touight something weird happened: even with the tree mod, some textures showed and some didn't. I deleted it to test the textures and I will have an update soon.

EDIT2: What I could figure is that it works fine with street trees mods but (for me at least) they only show on med density residential and comercial development. The old textures are used on low density zones. Is this suposed to happen? If not what am I doing wrong?

EDIT3: I promisse it's the last one. Never mind what I said on the last edit. I just read the readme. LOL I had to eventually. Though I am not really sure the wealth levels have anything to do with low/med/high development. But what do I know?!?!

Well, as you might have found out already, my street tree mod only alters the props on the street tiles, but not the textures. So you can use it in combination with any street textures you like. Only if you want to install other mods that come with modified type 21 exemplar files (they control what props are showing up on the street tiles), you can't use both at the same time.

By popular demand (and due to stalling on some of the more complicated bits), I made a start on the wealth-dependent textures. Only the straights, T-junctions and crossroads are done so far, but I hope you'll like what I did with the pavements.

    lumbutts_brickstreets_03.jpg

Right now I'm stuck on the acute curve (the 135deg corner for orthagonal to diagonal), but once it's done, the remaining pieces will be much easier. Then it's all down to time and patience... Oh yeah, here's what's missing that I know about:

    Back to work!

Could I ask a question? or two?

First Question--> Are you only going to use the red paved skin for the street "skin"? I ask because for more historic settings, a grey/brown stoned textures would probably be more suitable for UK/Europeanesqe cities

Second question--> Will it be compulsary for all Residential $$ streets to be paved? I would rather the mod be organised so that you can take out certain reqirements as to where they show up if you get my drift!

Great mod though, and I am loving it in my City Centre areas!

Brooooown?!? For shame! Really, with a name like Wallasey I would've thought you knew about the redbrick streets around Victoria Road in New Brighton 3.gif

I tried looking for pics but couldn't find any, so this one of Hamilton Square in Birkenhead will have to do...

    hamiltonsquare_l.jpg

Glad you like what's done so far 9.gif

EDIT: Whoops, didn't see the second question there... I suppose I could offer each wealth level as a seperate DAT, so people could have them everywhere or just at certain levels.

After getting a Cammel Laid Crane in to whinch my mouth of the floor, OMG! Hamilton Sqaure! not cobbled as such but never mind!!

Victoria Road and the Marine Prom is red paved but to be honest, they are looking a bit scruffy and are breaking up now! Wirral Council have put bits of tar down in places. But I was think more of "Cobbles" as seen in the following images...

    Alston, Cumbria

    Beamish museum

Do you see what I mean? I just think that Cobbles would also be a nice addition if so possible???

BTW, heres a nice New Brighton image for you...

Oh, go on, Two images of New Brighton!

Aah, I see what you mean now. Someone else was working on a cobblestone streets project, but it was sort of iridescent with all the colours and stuff. I'll look into the sort you posted when I've got the 'templates' for this lot done.

Also, it's bizarre how New Brighton looks so different in those two pics, with the backdrop of Seaforth Container port in the first one, and the traditional seaside town look in the other :3 (I'm deliberately ignoring the fort; I think it's a horrible carbuncle of styles...)

Quick question... will Jeronij's sidewalk and Swamper's tree mod still work with this one?

The answer, at least for me, is yes. Althought the guys developing this mod will have to reskin the side parking lane. You still see that as regular asphalt.

ScruffyDeluxe: is there anymore room for beta testers? I really liked this project and I am willing to help the best way I can (I can't mod or reskin I don't know how!) BTW that side walk skin for high wealth is just perfect!

This project is coming along so well! Those footpaths look fantastic, they are really nice. I look forward to you finishing this as it will become my favorite (and most used) download. Especially if you have different paths for wealth levels and of course a euro version.

    Please don't stop now! Thanks.

New Brighton's a suburb of Wallasey and was a holliday resort but is now a little run down. Back in it's hey day, the town boasted a tower (higher than the Blackpool tower) and a olympic sized swimming pool. The tower was dismantled in 1918 (around then) but the Ballroom and the grounds were a big attraction untill the 1960's when it burned down. The Pool and it's buildings got washed away in a spring storm!

We have plenty of paved roads in Wallasey!

    Coming along beautifully my friend.

A question. I have tried the beta but it doesn't work with any sort of development near the modded streets. It turns back to grey street color. Someone mentioned that it's because you haven't finished the mod yet. However in the pics above I see houses beside the red brick streets with the mod working perfectly. I'm not sure what to make of this. Perhaps I have a mod that is conflicting with this mod?

I'm not sure. If someone could help me answer this I would be grateful. Thanks in advance..

Oh, that's progress I've made since the first beta. I figured a few people would want to see this stuff fo reals, so here the latest. I haven't had time to rewrite the readme, but there's two shots of the finished pieces in the zip. Replacing the old DAT should be OK, once again, please make sure it loads after any other network texture replacement mod such as the ERTM, etc.

If anyone is curious here is how the American Park Verison looks.

    5.jpg

I'm having a bad case of RLS right now so my completion mixed with Scruffy's completion of fixing up my stuff is pushed back.
