Hmm, curious about the el rail edition of the monorail station, it sounds like a valueable addition. Ever considered losing the building and dropping it onto the ground for Heavy Rail?

I think it is a good idea. I still have the monorail model in gmax maybe I can do what you suggest.

I've been busy with RL issues and haven't been able to BAT. I'm not as good as many of the BATTERS in this site, in fact I'm horribly slow with GMAX. So I do apologyse if I don't update too much in the next couple of weeks.

Today I had some time to work on the el-train station. I thought that since its gonna be 6x1 it has enough space to put not only a bus stop but an underground parking lot 3.gif as you can see it still requieres a LOT of work 1.gif

Small technicality you might want to consider: By bypassing the lobby, Sims may be able to get a free ride.

BTW, it'd make sense to have shops at ground level moreso than on the second tier.

This looks like a great transit-hub station. Speaking of which, I wonder whether anyone would be willing to build a rail/el-rail station at some point--keeping them seperate lines, as it were.

Having already populated cities with your brilliant GLR station I too would love to see ideas like this one: splendid, indeed. Especially with shops & whatnot. Thus employment, too?

Your GLR station is my favorite. Can't wait to get my hands on a matching el station.

But, you know, take your time :-)

Sorry for the lack of updates. I was really busy with RL 14.gif

Right now I have some time to continue BATing the station. I decided to modify the design again 43.gif and went back to what it was pretty much the original concept.

Still far from being finish but I wanted to show that I'm still here 3.gif

I got to play with the HSRP beta and I really like it so maybe when I done with this station I will update my monorail station to match the HRSP better 35.gif

Aww... I like this one, but I so fell in love with the other one. From an engineer prospective, the glass roof would have a hard time standing... just an idea.

I love your designs, and your logo is great, by the by.

EDIT: Ooops! I didn't look at the date of the last post, but it looked like someone else had posted recent based on... well, perhaps someone did post recent. All in all, I really like your work and I hope you have time to continue.

    Cheers!

Thank you for your comment and don't worry about posting. I reopened the forum because I wanted to show that I'm working on this station 35.gif

I did a test render before going to bed 43.gif

I will work on the roof tomorrow so is not floating in the air 43.gif

I think I'm going to leave just one bus stop and replace the other with a bike station.

I need to read how to make the roof transparent so we can see the trains.

Looks great so far! I think you've made the right choice in going back to your original design idea. This will certainly be my first choice el rail station when it's done. A bike station is a good idea. The roof needs a supporting structure, but of course you know that. Also, if it's possible, would you consider doing a version without the underground parking entrance? Not every station in a system is likely to have underground parking.

But anyway, it's looking great. The only problem now is that I can't wait for it to be done... :-)

Wow, looking great indeed! This will fit in very well in any modern downtown environment, and it doesn't look as odd as the in-game stations, where the trains are three times longer than the platforms. For the parking garage entrance, I suggest to use a more neutral road texture (without the yellow lines), so it blends better for us folks who have the Euro Road textures installed. 2.gif
