Turing Off Zone Streets

Hi. I just bought Sim City 4000 and it seems like a really great game. I will admit that I am an old fasioned Sim City 2000 player so this game is quite an upgrade for me. 

My only gripe about Sim Citty 4000 is that when I create zones (industrial for example) the game automatically puts streets in their for me unlike it did in Sim City 2000 where you can make zones of any size and then fill the streets in afterwards rather than the game automatically doing it for you. 

Does anybody know if there is an option or something that disables streets from automatically being created when you lay down zones. If anybody can help that would be awesome. Thanks!

hold down the SHIFT key while zoning to disable automatic streets

Welcome to Simtropolis.

When zoning, if you hold down CTRL, it prevents the game from subdividing the zone into smaller lots... thus enabling you to make any sized zone you want. However, if it is the wrong size, nothing will grow. Also, The game sometimes subduvudes the zone later on its own. Similarly, The ALT key will rotate the zones between two orientations when zoning... orientations chosen by the game. Hope this helps too.

What's Sim City 4000?

If you zone a little at a time streets wont appear. Only If you zone alot at once streets will hapen. And you could just zone alot and destroy the streets real fast. And rezone the empty spots. And If you dont have it already you should buythe Rush Hour expansion Pack. Where did you get SimCity 4000? I am thinking about buying it.

@ Spookiety: There is no SimCity 4000. They meant SC4. They are used to playing SimCity 2000, so it's probably an honest mistake.
