This experiment is to attempt to recreate what happens in Queens; The Rockaways. The Rockways is mainly Residental and the businesses are in the center; near the A train station B116 St. I'm trying to see if people would leave their towns to go across the river to the places where industrial is.

I plan on having only 3 highway bridge crossings. Hopefully all of them can be tolled w/o No Job Zots.

This is the Park Area Project (PaP) in Mountainview. Here is a partial view of it.

Here is the service roads to the main highway.

Farming/Industry mixed together on the otherside of the Mt Range

The town of Elmer (Fudge ). Notice that the commerical dis. is doing very well near the highway interchange which ahs about 12,000+ going on/off



The first out of the 3 Bridges connecting the lands.



Bay Inet.  It's not really a town, but it's has commerical to serve as a rest area for travelers between the two land masses. This picture shows the Golden Gate Bridge between the isles. There is a total of 3 Bridges connecting the lands.

It looks good but personally I think you could do better. try to look around the other peoples' CJ.

p.s. I like how you separate out the highways a few tiles apart. mine is just zig-zag going through the cities, which I think It is not good.

by the way, how is your traffics? from what I experience this kind of layout usually will lead into traffic problem (a rush hour!)

Might I ask how can I do better? Rush hour isn't that bad at all. Only 68xx goes to Elmer, but to the Industrial Section 11,000+. I'd have to watch it more to see what it's like.

Withermay UD #1!

Here is my first update for the region. The City of Beachside.

 

These are one of the muilitable Residental Complexs in Beachside. There are some of them. Here is an example of one of them. (Eventually I'll come up with names later on)

 

***Before***

Here in the lower lefthand corner is a new commerical section. Lately the mayor hasn't been giving the commerical industry sections to grow lately. People report of Loud Voices at his house. . That blank area is now going to be apart of the main part of the city. This will be residental apartments.

 

The new temp. Westbound service road for the new sections of the city. Later on that Cloverleaf will be removed says the BDoT When there is more traffic loads on the highways, that interchange will only make accidents higher due to weaving problems...

 

***After***

Now here are the streets layed out along with the parks. Gotta raise that desirablility up

 

***Growth***

 

Strangely the Mayor didn't expect such slow growth. Considering the city is mainly R$$/$$$. No more Ms.Bucket Candle Light Supppers[:0] (If you watch Keeping up apperance's on PBS, Saturdays 8PM EST you'd understand what I mean). The mayor had an important meeting later on that day. He said Beachside is not growing because we are the only city here! We need neighbours..... After that meeting, he sent out his brother Thomas to made a town east of Beachside. This is how the town of.....

 

New Hyde

 

 

Thomas wanting to please his brother, did so immediately. He surveyed the land and this was an aerial picture from a Satellite.

 

 

He then drew with Crayons a picture which was how you say.....eh......scribble scrabble....Some how the picture turned out to be a partial layout of the town. Thomas finally hired his team for education, safety, etc. after being blasted at by his older brother George from Beachside. Thomas got very angry, for he wanted to do this all by himself. o 0 (Imagine that, 4AM getting calls about Education then Safety and the major Potholes in the road o.0) 0 o

 

Thomas wanted his town to be only Middle/Rich people. Obviously everything went the opposite. He often discrimates the rest of the town from the Island.

 

**Before**

 

This was a view before Thomas quickly decided to add in Med. Zoning on the Island. His team doesn't really get to have a much of a say anyway....

 

This is the Island. They get the best education in the entire town. He plans to tackle the Island with only $$/$$$ by raising the desirability and making historical buildings. 2100+ travels on that one road bridge.[:0]

 

Thomas is very friendly with the 2 story houses and Mansion neighbours. He purposely put a high green bush fence not to see the lower class. (Wrong is it not?)

 

Second step of his plan was removing the commerical district and putting parks. By doing that the desirtability would rise and the Av ...won't be so plain and disgusting- Mayor Thomas

 

3rd Step was to charge at the commerical district. He demanded that the Shopping Center and Billy Boy's Food Emp. to be built to help the commerical to be $$/$$$. Unfortunately his plan foiled and he currently pacing wondering what went wrong.

Interesting use of avenues. Cities often start out as low wealth but if you provide enough schools the neighborhoods will improve themselves. Add a few trees too and I think this city's potential will come out.

Sorry for taking long. IRL has struck again with laundry, cleaning, preparing for family coming down from boston, health along with School work..

This is a continuation to the previous update....

 

 

 

 

 

Thomas was taking aerial pictures of how his city changed trying to vent off the quarrel from his brother next door. The big issue was.....GARBAGE! Thomas wanted to get rid of his garbage by sending it to Beachside with Hitons vs. loprice

 

Please keep your images at 800x600, or less. And while it is not a rule, we suggest hosting pictures offsite to help save bandwidth.

 

As you can see he has an apx. $3000 debt. He wants more tons to be taken with a low price. His older bother didn't take that and instead giving him the backside with a hot leather belt (OUCH!) along with a reasonable price...Thomas's garbage scehme was foiled with a piece of leather. To make his anger to go up the top, his plan was going too slow. The Aerial shots tell it all. Stay tuned for a new city, updates of other cities and the HT Industrazation of Mountainside!

I didn't think anyone would want an update after a months...school and parents got me so busy I never gotten a chance to post the update I had... I'll have it up by Monday.

Hey, heads up young fellow (did I mention that I am that old??? ).

First of all your start wasn't that bad that it isn't worth an update. Even after three months.

Second we all have RL here. I have a job and a wife and I am going to be father beginning of next year. Nevertheless I try to keep my CJ alive by making at laeast one update per week (except for my holiday). Just a hint: never play only one city - play at least three of them. Don't forget, SC4 has regionplay!!! And if the city you want to put here isnt working as you want to - well, keep it a bit back and publish another.

Withermay UD #2A!
(Told you I'd have it today )

Much as changed since the last time we were here. Unfortunately we cannot continue with the previous storyline due to a terrible terrible disaster. The original New Hyde suffered from Earthquake Elmer and Tsunami Thomas which created havoc to the region of Withermay's encomicy. Strangely it only affected New Hyde and not the other cities. As a citizen in Beachside said, God works in mysterious ways.

Nothing survived in the disaster. Just an eroded beachline and the wonderful island that was in the middle of the bay...This is the raw New Hyde. So far there is only two ways to access this land as of now..

The new mayor Kenny Kenton designed the main roads through out New Hyde. He figured that a good road system would do the job.

And there was the road system. And so he was happy. Grid systems was and still a new hit to mayors across the region.

The mayor doesn't have many neighbours as of now. Wonder if it's the loud dinner parties at number 6 Parkline Dr.

New Hyde's First elementary school. Great for the kids since they have close ballparks and parks.

The mayor was unhappy about all the lower class people moving in. He worried about his rep. as to a 6-year-old told he's not allowed to have candy. Neten Harrismen was going weary as he's the only R$$$ in the entire town.

After weeks of ads to for R$$/$$$ sims to move into New Hyde; he finally had his 3 new wealthy-neighbours-who-are-like-him friends. Neten Harrismen secretly lower their taxes for awhile so the 4 of them can have some get rich quick schemes. Of course the rest of the neighbourhood didn't like them because they were so stuck up. Obvoiusly the rest of the neighbourhood had 4 new targets for halloween egg throwing [:0]

The entire area that the mayor was living in was updated to Medium Zoning. Neten's dream of a R$$$ town was fading out like how the world forgot about Cisco. He has set up daily appointments with his personal shrink from Mountainview. Interesting conversations if you ever get to hear them

Despite all the work he did to achieve his dream; it wasn't working much at all. This sent Harrismen into a having a heart attack and going to New Hyde's first hospital.

Behind the tight doors of City Hall is where he discusses this problem with the Town Concuil.

A police station was built nearby after Neten was getting awfully Rowdy. Then a news radio company called New Hyde News (NHN), was constructed nearby also to get the inside scoop behind those cardboard closed doors.

America's most favourite store...Walmart! Low prices; good deal galore =D

Few months later after Walmart was the major store of New Hyde, things started changing. More R$$/$$$ residents were moving in and the commerical districts were improving also. Neten was finally happy and his daily appointments with his shrink lessened to once a week.

 

New Hyde's first private college. Admissions are obvouisly overrated so that's what keep the class sizes small and honour roll students across the board.

CLASS OF 2005! WOOOOOO! (Actual date of my J.H.S graduation was 6 days before). Neten Harrismen was here to congratulate to the class of 2005. With his famous quote When your rich and high wealth; move back here, there is always a spot for you here. Students laughed but Neten was serious. He figured that's a way to do his scheme without doing any actual crime.

The new college neighbourhood. Notice only R$$/$$$ are moving in. It's very expensive to live near a college. Another part of Neten's scheme for an exclusive wealthy neighbourhood.

As we pay our respects to the 9/11 attacks.....</insert moments of slience>
The neighbourhood is growing, and the end result is more demand for commerical centers.

well nice work! really good quality pictures! i have to say that the region is very original, 'cause in most cj's people try some terraforming, and here we have a simple, nice region with a river (the river is really big y. now what i mean..) well amybe try adding some more grren stuff, like f.e. the trees...

Well if you have an earthquake; you'd generally would have a tsunami. Put the two disasters together you get destructive affects. I'll try slowing down, guess that's a little problem I havebigsmile:]

Withermay UD #2B
New Devolopers vs. Neten Harrismen and New Hyde 

Since the last aerial view, there were a two new memorials built to rememeber the terrible disaster on New Hyde. It is accessable through a walking path and car.

 

Of Course there was local opposition but the Neten whole heartly overrode the complains of people being misplaced and......

 

....BOOM! Place was cleared out within 24days. Leaving apx. 5,000 sims misplaced. Population dropped from apx. 24,000 to 19,000. Of course this raised demand for homes so other places in New Hyde started getting newer apartments and houses.

Now when Neten was asked to relocate he was furious! He refused to move.

 

Of course all you need is a lil Fuel, Fire, Eggs, Egg Nog and Snowballs mixed with mischeif teens and you get a quick easy same day move.

 

 

 

They were given until Janurary 7th to move. Consider it a nice X-mas Present. Those humble families sure did.

 

And there was the Los parques nuevos!

 

 

The Inital construction wasn't even complete and Sims started moving in. First Come First serve rule was in strong effect here. The Devoloper was happy, but Neten was not. He didn't like all the lower wealth moving in there. He was also thinking about raising taxes for the lower wealth. He'd be the first to do it, but the first of all of Withermay to change the tax rate of R & C (which is 7%). His shrink strongly advised him not to do it for he would be booted out of office. Neten decided it wasn't worth raising the taxes but he would still pursue his dream of R$$$ town.......just in other methods...

 

 

 

No Local opposition so....

 

 

 

 

 

And it was finished. The commerical Center loved it that it decided to remove two plazas to add in more shops which are currently unconstruction.

 

 

 

 

 

And it was complete. This continued to help the Commerical Sector. New Lifts were made so Peds. can across the roads without worrying by getting hit by anything. Also bus stops were placed near the elevators and ped. Malls which improved access to the mall because not alot of people are fond of walking good distances.

 

 

That's the new north eastern end of the Ped. Mall. The city wants to have Ped Malls connecting the three commerical sections together. There has been also talks of having a subway just for the commerical sections if it is too far to walk too, but plans are still on the drawing board.

 

 

 

 

Now let's move back to the new Residental Area. Beau isn't it? Neten has had a major change of heart since he's been on vacation. He noticed with a city at this size, he could never have want to wants. So he has retired from being mayor after 18 years of stressfulness. Elections are in November!

Beachside and it's Communties

Beachside is a city that is mainly comprized with private communties or private complexs.  Let's start off with a current view of Beachside:

Alright all of Beachside has been covered as of a current view. We have a new architech in town!!! His name is Benny Bell. The mayor Benard Bucket (Prenounced as Boo-Kay) gave several sq. miles for Benny to work with.

Next best thing was a new stadium. He figured that's a way to improve the area along with to keep fans around with the near by commerical center. Benny didn't want them just to shop there so....

 

....make Beachside's first casino! Fans could make bets to who would win when teams verus either each other. And of course possibly win the jackpot at slot machine #450
