    Thanks for commenting everyone 44.gif
Wallasey: that's good, i sometimes come up with ideas but with such a lon CJ I dont always remember whether they've been implemented in the CJ yet. 19.gif
Nik-nik: ahh those bumps 27.gif sorry I happened to leave off the BRF slope mod before doing the update, by then it was a bit late 46.gif i didn't actually plop the Borders there, I supposed the pub a couple doors down also gets a lot of business too 2.gif
jarnomiedema: thanks, yes I agree they do fit in quite well as a colonial style building 19.gif
Makollig Jezfahted: thanks for commenting 44.gif
Gryphonite: thats a bit unfortunate, it was bad enough having to reload all my terrain when i installed cycledogg's mod 18.gif
GingerBlokey: thanks for the comment 44.gif
Nik-nik: I had ideas for it a while back just there were not enough suitable bats at the time, with goldiva's mod it makes the task much easier and the slum kit too 10.gif
vanshnookenraggen: try searching for ardecila on the STEX
sharkbait16: lol i remember when i first signed up and looking at the awesome cities of joerg's and jhipolitio and thinking the exact same thing 18.gif
    sloppet: thanks 44.gif
Glenni: got to have slums 2.gif

Nice islands! I really love how you arranged those W2W from porkissimo - gives it such a nice colonial atmosphere! 10.gif Especially together with this nice beaches and as a contrapoint the slums!

    I love this CJ!

Cool updates, ff. I am loving the slums, and the story about not wanting to go around there at night, how realistic. 18.gif

Nice little island, though that hotel definately ruins the view. Down with Corporate, uh... Thames!

    Nice Update Froggy!

I like those pictures of the seaside and the Victorian houses fit just great. Nice atmosphere.

I noticed this picture as well:

Probably one of those Japanese bats?
Is that road in between those houses also from that thread? It gives a great slummy character.

thanks for the comments everyone, sory for lack of recent updates, i've been away in the lake district for a week (plenty of CJ inspiration9.gif) on a trip i'll have some updates soon 19.gif

Nardo69:porkie's bats really are excellent since they seem to fit in nearly any style of city! 18.gif i do agree about the beaches, it makes an interesting contrast.
Glenni: thanks for the comment 10.gif
    sloppet:thanks! 39.gif
    jacqulina:thanks for commenting here 2.gif
GingerBlokey:not suprised south town is quite a generic name 18.gif
DragonAnime:while its certainly no mogadishu, i certianly wouldn't want to wander in there as a tourist 3.gif
sharkbait16:Down with Corporate, uh... Thames! after the next update you might really hate corporate Thames 17.gif
Nik-nik:just to the bottom of the pic is one of the japanese bats which fit in snugly but the slums are from my slum kit. these are on a 5x5 lot, the small road is part of the lot so it can enhance the slummy character of the lot.
chocolatemax285: thank you for the comment 16.gif

I remember talking about how Thames functions in SC4 a while back and I found this interesting picture.
While Thames was mainly supposed to be an eye candy style CJ there are some parts that work.
    trans.jpg
Looking at the commute it looks like sims are arriving at Buckleigh North and transferring by bus to Central and continuing their journey by rail. For what is primarily an eye candy region to see a station interchange work I thought was pretty neat especially since I had built the two stations more for looks than anything else[:O] while I prepare the next update
just wondering if anyone else has experienced something similar? 2.gif

    Frogface,

I want you to know that I've really enjoyed Thames and it has gotten me back into SimCity. I may even do a city journal of my own.

I've seen some great cities on the web, but you have wonderful rural areas as well. I think Polegate is my favorite Thamesian place, with the stream winding through a village of shops with the church overlooking it all.

I developed a small country of my own called Ainkien in SimCity, and it also has its own colony, the Nalsa Islands. I'm really enjoying the fact that you have done the same thing here.

Once again, thanks for the inspiration.

    Frogface,

Could you please post some pictures of Tokara. You could write the update as if you were a journalist filming undercover. And I wonder what's going on back in Thames?

eeeeeeeeh, Froggy,..... it's still a game, so incredible things like this may be expected once in a while.
Anyhow, I am jealous of you as I play the game and not intentionally make it eye candy I do not get this nice a transition. 26.gif

Love to see more of Thames again though. 35.gif

Wow, Frogface, this is really fantastic work!! I'm especially impressed by the slums you've designed. The buildings and the alleyways make it look like a scary and run-down place indeed! Where did you get all the lots to design this?

Really great work ... I'll definitely be keeping an eye on this journal from now on!

This is a fantastic CJ. I've been to London before. My hotel was actually on the Thames River. It was right across from Big Ben. Hmmm... I forgot the name of the hotel... Anyways, great city. But I don't understand the palm trees, I don't remember palm trees when I went there during November.42.gif

6underground: maybe because I was on holiday in a certain country a week ago 9.gif (have to say I thoughrougly enjoyed it even if all it did was pour with rain and blow gale like winds)
    Nexis:thanks for your comment 29.gif
nofunk:Thanks a lot5.gif The slums and alleys are part of my slum kit I made a while ago. while they arn't highly detailed they do give the impression of a slum area  1.gif
Micah: hope you enjoyed your stay in London 2.gif the last few updates with the palms are from the colonies of Thames not Thames itself 2.gif but in real life the UK does have palms around the south and in Cornwall

    Great update Frogface.

    42.gif
What farm mod do you use? I really like your farms. My farms, on the rare occasions that I get them to grow, feature those annoying grain elevators. I use the mod to get rid of them now, but my cities are to a point that I can't get something more quaint to grow back.
