Another newbie with a problem here

I've downloaded several "apartment, hotel, condo" lots and have run into a problem that I cannot figure out.  My city now has 75,000 people.   But when I place one of these buildings down on my city it only lasts for about a month before all the people leave the building and it becomes abandoned.   Am I doing something wrong or should they only be placed when your population reaches a certain level??  (That's where my thinking ends)    Thanks for your help.

BTY - This website has renewed my interest in Simcity Rush Hour.  Great site and it deserves our support.

Residential ploppables do not work as a general rule. Unfortunately, in order for you to get them to behave properly, you'll have to wait for them to grow...

"plopable" residential buildings to not function properly, the only way res buildings work is to grow, early on some res plops were created thats why they are still on the stex, but as mentioned they only work as eye candy by using the no dilapidation mod.

hope this helps...

Thanks for the info. So if I let the dilapidated apartments stay, they may come around eventually???

    1. if they are "plopable" no...as the game only upgrade in zoned areas...once a building is ploped...is the way it is...once a RES building does go abanadoded...it will stay that way forever...think the  anti- dilapilation mod will stop the building going black for around 175 years or so, after that...it's a dead building
    2. one problem ppl don't realize is that RES plop while not yet abandoned...have no comuters...so all the SIMS inside don't contribute to the workforce or customers for COM....this can cauze all sort of problems in the demand charts...game thinks you have a high work force...but none of them ever get to work so it affect the IND and com section as well ussualy cause them to go abandoned cuz of lack of workers or customers.
    3. COM and IND seems to function correctly as they are the end trip for the sims when going to work

paersonely...I say not to use RES plops while playing at all...unless your looking to take snap shots and your desire is to have a particular building in a particular spot, cuz your doing a recreation or just cuz you think it look kewl there4.gif
