I think you need to placed mp3 files in the Radio subfolder in order to hear them during the game play, and in my experience i can`t select what customs songs the game is going to play

    Quote from Screwball:

"wanna know how to play your own music from within SC4?

its easy.... look for the folder C:\Program Files\Maxis\SimCity 4\Radio\Stations and then Mayor for music within the city or Region for the music that plays on the region screen.... we will use mayor for example... so C:\Program Files\Maxis\SimCity 4\Radio\Stations\Mayor\Music and then all you have to do is copy the mp3s you want to play in the game into this folder....

Once in the game, go to your "Options Panel" within a city and unselect all the music in the list and select "Custom Tunes".. make sure "Music" is selected at the top of this window... From now on it will randomly play any of the music you have in that folder. If you only have a few songs the chance that it will repeat itself every 10 minutes is good so i suggest at least 10-20 songs if not more...

walla!! your music will be played in the game..."

what said above is true, but personelly I skip the in-game music and turn it off while playing...and run a my music player in the background...this way i don't have to transfer songs around (accidently break links to the media player...and have access to my own playlists...4.gif

That won't change the status of the custom box.

If the custom music box won't work, try the following things:

    1) Make sure all of the music files are in the Mayor section

    2) Make sure they are in mp3 format. THE FILE EXTENSION SHOULD BE .mp3, not .MP3. I don't know why, but that's the only way it works.(At least for me)
