FYI:

Alt+F4 closes the active window.

Hitting the windows key opens the start menu. Hitting up will then highlight the "turn off computer" button. Hitting enter will then open the "turn off computer" window. Hitting enter again with that open will send your computer into standby mode.

Both of these will of course cause you to leave the chatroom if you do them while chatting.

The risk taken, of course, was that if he had been using a Mac, neither of those key combos would have worked. Plus, he wouldn't have even had a windows key.
