the nitewindows are actually files that I'm guessing aren't on your computer for some reason.

C:\gmax\gamepacks\BAT\Maps\NightWindows

There should be some folders there with the nitemaps in them.  If they're not there, then go on the STEX and find some new ones, or make your own.  The most straight foward way of applying nitemaps to something is to simply type "nite" infront of the name of the object you want lighted.

Your building is looking nice so far, but remember that each story should only be 4 or 5 meters tall.  From what it looks like, each band is 4 meters tall, which would mean that every other floor has no windows, and the floors inbetween those are all glass.

anyway, good luck. 1.gif

If you have installed additional nitewindows (by NDEX, Goldiva etc) or you have visited the nitewindows folders and now you don't have any nitewindow options available in the drop-down box, visit this thread, it may be the solution to your problem.

Nope, these threads stickied here are for asking questions in, that's their purpose.

Instead of double clicking on the file, open the BAT, and go to file>open and navigate to the file and open it that way.

A camera light rig is a rig that holds your cameras and lights. 1.gif

There's a set of cameras and lights for each zoom and rotation, and the rig holds them all together.  The rig comes with the BAT gamepack, which is why opening gmax alone (without any gamepacks) will not have those cameras or lights.  That's my reasoning for it anyway.

It's good that you got it to work, good luck with your project.

I had the same problem with this file...what you have to do is open BAT and the merge the UN file. Make sure you don't grab the thumbnail camera or the LODs and then you may have to open the MAP editor and reconnect all the texture files...then you should be good to go. The model does need some work in order to be finished, but can be rendered as-is...I've got it in-game now, there are problems with the nightlighting and the general model is not as detailed as I'd like, but I haven't had time to go back and fix it.

2 Quick questions - When I light up stuff with spots, how do I show the cone? The checkbox doesn't seem to work.

Oh, and #2 - I was messing around, and I ended up with a brown interface (like Hamster's). It's easier on the eyes, but I can't see the thicker gridlines (16 m), how do I revert back to the blue one, or change the grid colours?

EDIT: Found the answer to that one

Hello everyone,

The BAT - Open Discussion and the BAT - Workshop will be merged together in the future.  As part of the restructuring, this thread will be locked.  All questions should be asked in the all-encompassing BAT Troubleshooting Thread found at: https://www.simtropolis.com/forum/messageview.cfm?catid=37&threadid=87425&enterthread=y
