If I recall correctly, in SC3K neighbors would offer you deals at varying rates, and you could wait until you got an offer at a good price to accept it.  Does anyone know how deal rates are calculated now?  For example, in a power deal, is the rate always a certain number of $ per MWh regardless of the deal size?

the prices of the neighbourhood connection deals (power , water garbage) cost the same as it does for the city that recieving the money on the deal...eg coal power plant in the city...the rate will be the same as the cost for the power plant plus a small service charge of about 10% or so....not sure of the exact number, but it's below 10%

so the cost of deals will vary from time to time...as a power plant ages the cost per wattage goes up also...the cost of certain power plants can vary also. This also applys to water, different type of pumps...garbage can be affected by landfill, waste disposal units and recycling centre costs (this can also vary if you use custom content that have been modded to have different costs)

so basicly there is no real fixed amount for any deal...they change from city to city and over time inside even the same city....just have to weight the pros of buying stuff from other cities (or selling) vs the amount of space and  ussually pollution reduction that the deal  saves

ps...if you run into the negatives for any reason...you break the deal automaticly....this can cause major problems if the city is dependant on another city for the resource...and it can take up to a year to re-establish a broken deal(not always, but ussually). the other city acts likes it mad at you or something for breaking the deal
