Maybe that's why Easy Bakes thought the two were the same. I was quite saddened to hear the students unreaction to Bill Nye's fall, but was really happy to hear he is still around trying to teach about science. I haven't heard any news about him in a long time, and thought that maybe he retired.
  3. Benevolent Dictatorship

Anyways, in my experience, I have never run into the red when I give the schools and hospitals adequate funding. As long as you, the mayor, make wise and prudent decisions, you shouldn't ever run into the red. That means putting off building certain buildings (like a ton of parks, rewards and yes, schools and hospitals!) until you have a sizable population that can support this extra expenses. Also, you can't give 100% funding to these buildings in the beginning: the funding for the schools and hospitals needs to adjust to the demands of the city. So a school shouldn't have a capacity for 600 students if only 200 students are enrolled. And the funding for schools (I'm not sure for hospitals) pay off in a big way. The smarter the sims, the higher the commercial and industry demands grow. I had a city with very low commercial demand, and because of this, there were a lot of unemployment. After I built some schools, libraries and museums in the city, not only did the sims IQ rose, the amount of commercial demand rose also, allowing everyone to have a job. But really, I won't be surprised if this turns to a whole different topic.
  4. American Politics

Golly gee whiz Chuck Ferrari, Bush and Reagan also skipped the wreath laying at the Tomb of the Unknowns at least once during their times in office. I guessed that slipped out of mind huh? Oh that's right, when a republican does it, all is good in the world, but when it's someone else, all heck breaks loose. "Is Obama the first President to skip the ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery?" (Answer of course, no) http://www.snopes.com/politics/obama/memorialday.asp
  5. Best City Skyline

Well, it isn't the biggest but I think the Nashville skyline is pretty cool: And a city with a building nicknamed the "Batman Building" has to be pretty cool. However, I think that NYC has the best skyline.
  6. The region looks very nice pakersfan. What are the lines in the water though? Is that what you mean by fake looking? As for the Bridge height mod, are you talking about the one made by joerg? You can find it here: https://www.simtropolis.com/stex/details.cfm?id=21327

If it were me I would have never ran the light in the first place, but if I did, I would have just given him the info and been done with it. And I know some is going to say it so... I know if it was my mother dying, I would of done the same thing. And I can't even imagine how would the family be calm "Gee, my mother is dying, have maybe mere seconds until she dies, and a cop is pulling me over. Let me just put a smile on my face and be completely cooperative!" All the cop had to do was follow the family to the hospital, and either waited to give the ticket, or just drop it completly and give them a warning.

  12. Edit: Argg I feel so stupid, I don't know how to work this forum. Now everythin should be up correctly. I just recently installed Simcity, and after I installed I wanted to see what I can read in the French version. So I went into the regedit and changed the appropiate files to render the game in French. Everything worked fine and I was having fun learning new words, but I wanted to get NAM, so I changed it back into English just in case. I changed the version to English, installed NAM and started playing, but this time, text appear wonky when I'm in mayor mode. 1) Pretty obvious here 2) ^Same 3) You know those funny text that pop up when loading a city? That didn't appear when I was loading. 4) When I click on the tabs, the buildings show, but with numbers in front of them, like 5*3. I'm guessing it's showing the radius of what it affects. Also, in God mode, it shows something like GodTools-Mountain. If it can help, here's the two pages on the regedit. I don't know what the problem is. Please read the rules for posting in the forums. Images are limited in size to 800x600 pixels. tungston

  20. A new BATer

Hello everbody. This is my first post here because, well I'm a shy person. I've been using 3ds max for a while and I now want to officially start to BAT. I have seen alot of great works on this sight and I have a few questions about BATing. First off, is modeling complicated and realistic buildings hard to do? There has been many fantastic models on this sight and it looks like it takes months to create. Another question is what steps are normally taken when modeling a building. I presume creating a rough sketch or having a real life picture is the first step, but after that, then what? One more question, what is the hight of a story to be used when creating a building? I hope I can master 3ds max enough to create magnicient buildings like a lot of people have and I am willing to work hard for that goal. Here is a church i recently started for SC4 and some of my other work. Edit: Here's the link to the other two pictures http://profile.imageshack.us/user/jorganza/images/detail/#230/citystreetnv5.jpg http://profile.imageshack.us/user/jorganza/images/detail/#230/churchgv1.jpg Im not sure why the other pictures didnt come up.
