  1. Revelstoke

Hey everyone it's time again for Update 12. Here are some replies to your comments first... Ntq$310: Thanks for your comments. I'm glad you like the realism of my region. I hope you like this update. haljackey: Glad we finally added each other on web messenger. Thanks for the comments as always! Schulmanator: Thanks for the comment. I don't think this journal will ever end just some nice breaks. Shadow_Assassin: Thanks for the comment as always you have some insightful comments. I hope to hear back from you. jutrock: Thanks for the comment. As I said earlier I really don't think Revelstoke will be gone completely. I always spend my spare time on it however school does take my higher priority. sedimenjerry: Well I'm sure glad you didn't delete me from your favourites. I hope I will be one of your reccomendations soon haha. anarchy0029: Thanks for the comment. I hope you enjoy the two night shots I have enclosed within this update. Twenty20: Thanks for the comment and I'm really glad you have taken the time to notice the realism in the CJ. I appreciate it. GreekMan: Yes...I am back and I am glad you enjoyed the last update. The street side trees are a Street Side MOD I downloaded on the STEX. Alright without further adure here is UPDATE 12. Finally...an ad on Revelstoke's newest subdivision West of Red Coat Trail. As always comments are appreciated on here. Thanks for vieweing Revelstoke. Cheers.
  2. The Greater Terran Region

Wow. What an excellent update. Sorry I do not post too much on your CJ. I have just been busy with university as you already know. Anyways your highway is as always the best you always seem to have the best transportation networks as well. I don't know how you do it but great job! Cheers.

After a long and unprecedented break from this City Journal I am back. I have to apologize I have been busy with other things. However that's enough for excuses here are some replies for your comments... Greekman: Thanks for the comment as for the trails it is an Alberta thing. What I meant from Deerfoot trail is that it is just basically a rural highway. So basically it is a parkway. Amerikaner: Thanks for the comment!!! I love that haha. Isn't that what airports are lol...a huge maze? As for these pictures there is no grid. Getting used to working without it now. Thanks again. haljackey: Thanks for the comments. Deerfoot Trail won't be built for a little while but your right. It will enhance traffic flow and accessibility to the city and the airport. Equilibria: Thanks for the comment and any link to perimeter fencing would be appreciated. I am in for the nightmare to put in but I know how great it would look. I would really appreciate that. Deerfoot Trail will be a Rural Highway so until I actually build subdivisions and developments I will see if i have to upgrade existing infrastructure. I'm glad you liked the design of this airport I really appreciate your praise. rjkrox: Thanks for the comment and that's because I based the overall layout on Lethbridge, Alta (not anymore though). If you would have read the whole CJ you would have read that. Penguin007: Thanks for the comment. What landscaping are you talking about. A picture would be nice. It's all on the STEX. dfnva: Thanks for the PAGE STARTER and comments. Thats one of my favourite attributes to Revelstoke International. And as for our idea thats excellent. I just had to end the highway somewhere. anarchy0029: Thanks for the comments as always! MTLT_17: Thanks for the explanations and comments. I hope you enjoy this update. Have fun at the Rider Game on Saturday by the way. It wont have as much energy as you are used to though. sedimenjerry: Thanks for the comments and imput. Retrodude818: Thanks for the comment. The landscaping in front of the airport make it really stand out. Thats what I believe more cities should do. ky72x: Thanks for the comments!! Thats what I'm going for : genuity. I hope you like this update. Keep commenting. supercity124: Thanks for the comment and I will look into being your neighbour if your up for it! Urban23: Thanks for the comment. The terrain MOD is avaliable on the STEX. psander5: Thanks for the comments as always. I hope you enjou Update 11. As for everyone else thanks for viewing and here is UPDATE 11. As always any comments are appreciated! I hope you enjoyed this update. Keep reading. Cheers.
  4. Revelstoke

Alas, after a week without an update here is Update number 10. It's not large but keep in mind that custom airports are not easy to make. So before I post some pictures I will reply to some comments first. jacqulina: Thanks again for your comments as always. masochist: Thanks for the comment. And let me just say WOW thanks for featuring me on your blog. ALL of that is really nice of you. And thanks for everything. I hope to read some more of your comments. Thanks again masochist. Retrodude818: Thanks for the comment and it's great that you love my CJ. I will be continuing this for quite awhile just not daily updates like in the beginning. I'm glad you like the logo PS is excellent. penguin007: Thanks for the comment. I'm glad you like the effects that I have applied to my photos to achieve rain and lightning. It's not that complex but it does take some time. For the rest of you that have been anticipating this update here is Revelstoke International Airport. I hope you all enjoyed this short but successful update. Remember that custom airports take a lot of planning and trial and error runs. As always comments are highly appreciated. Cheers.
  5. Revelstoke

Hey guys sorry for the slow replies and actual update but I will have update 10 tomorrow. Cheers
  6. Revelstoke

And what an explosion of comments on here! Well this is no update....yet, just some replies to your comments. The airport is 75% done I would say. Ntq$310: Thanks for the comments, the thunderstorm effects did take awhile to perfect. anarchy0029: Thanks for the comments and I'm glad you like my news ticker manipulation. I hope you will like the airport! jacqulina: Thanks for your comments as always. The planning takes awhile too but it helps bring out realism. psander5: Thanks for your comments. My favourite shot is the downtown in the rain with lightning striking Mcallum Hill Offices. And yes the damage was from image manipulation. Simtastico: Thanks for your comment!. Im really glad you liked both the news, weather, and region. Schulmanator: Thanks for the comments. and I'm glad you like the effects. They took a long long time. I'm pretty sure in Regina there would be trees down too. We have enough rain here though. It's been a hot stormy summer. PhatHead: Thanks for the comments. Professionalism helps to add to realism; especially in this sort of an update. I'm glad someone laughed at the comment of "actual zones may vary". GreekMan: Thanks for the comment. The photos as I have said before have taken awhile to perfect. dfnva: Thanks for stopping by and commenting Dan. I'm glad to read that you have liked my photo shopping over these last updates. I hope you will be commenting on the airport. sedimenjerry: Thanks for the comment. Hope you like the airport. MTLT_17: Thanks for the comments Marshall. How could it look too real? Haha yeah working at YQR has helped a lot. Regina has a small one. Amerikaner: Thanks for your comment. That's one of my goals: to have one of the best region shots. As for photoshopping, well I couldn't post an image that wasn't. It all ads to the presentation. Revelstoke isn't a Southwestern City. Think of Alberta (southern). haljackey: Ahh, finally some real praise for these PS effects. Glad you have liked these past few updates and the storm. I have been playing around with the RHW and plan to upgrade the highway system soon! As for everyone else if you haven't comment please do so I would like some more feedback. I will have the airport update coming soon. Thanks! Cheers.
  7. Show us your Weather

Not only shold this be in the concepts forum but you should have an example. This is the second time you have posted not abiding by the rules.
  8. I think I see one-way roads in the screenshot. Try making roads that intersect with the avenue to be two-way roads (regular). A commuter won't use a road if there is no return trip. Hope this helps.
  9. Lakewood

To resize images (for example using imageshack)... click on the tab called resize image and select 800 x 600. As for your CJ. It looks excellent. Keep up the good work. Cheers
  10. Shorline Metro Area

Great start I think all your building go well together. Have fun plopping...it's not as fun as the real game tho! Cheers.
  11. Woodcrest

First picture looks awesome. I can tell (i think that you are not basing your city...or town) on grids. Thats a good thing. It adds a tonne of realism. PS you might want to think of changing your sig. Cheers.
  12. Coulla

Excellent pictures. Your downtown is astonishing. Your buildings have variety and they mix well together. Great work...Excellent work! Cheers.
  13. Tierra de la Oscuridad

Great pictures. You have excellent presentation. Cheers
  14. Revelstoke

With the beginning of Page 5 I have UPDATE 9. Replies to comments first. dfnva: Thanks for the comment and my first page starter! I`ll have the transportation map up soon or if you are eager to see it PM me. Hope you enjoy this update. Urban23: Congratulations on your first comment. Although that seems like an excellent idea my region does not have mountains for a couple km`s outside of the city. It is not uncommon for cities to be built on plains. After all its the most efficient way. As for the rivers..well I do have one river and if you even look on Google maps at some places (say southern Alberta...). There are not rivers every kilometer or so. Trees are sparse in my region. As I move further west you will see more vegetation. However, welcome to ST. For the rest of you here is Update 9. That`s it for Update 9. As always comments are appreciated. Cheers.
  15. City of Renlion

I must say this is an impressive start. Looking back I can't find anything wrong. Excellent work. Cheers.
  16. Renault, Missouri

Your downtown is great I love the greenways you have built. Cheers.
  17. Revelstoke

sc4portugal: Thanks for the comments. sedimenjerry: Thanks for the comments and as I said before I am still waiting to put in the RHW, so be patient. kelistmac: Thanks for the comments. jacqulina: Thanks for the comments; I'm glad you enjoyed the last update. dfnva: Thanks for the comments. The downtown area is one which I am highly proud of. Just like any major city all downtowns are vibrant (...well most...?) I'm also glad to hear you liked the layout and planningof Sunalta. Once you see the transportation map of it you will be amazed. NMUSpidey: Thanks for the comments and I'm sure anyone can create a realistic city after some practice. Schulmanator: Thanks for the comments. I'm glad you like the photo shopped pictures. The last 2 took quite some time to make them look as real as possible. And I agree with you on the suburbs comment. jutrock: Thanks for the comments and I can now say the downtown is my favourite part of Revelstoke...at least for now. haljackey: Thanks for the comments. We talked about the RHW in a PM. GreekMan: Thanks for the comments, and I'm glad you think this CJ is that good. I like to give the readers an idea of what to expect next in the proposed expansion pictures. MTLT_17: Thanks for the comments and even though the city may look like it's expanding fast it has a lot more work to go. As for everyone else thanks for viewing Revelstoke and I'll have update 9 here in the next day or two. Keep posting. Cheers.
  18. Tierra de la Oscuridad

Great update your BATs look excellent in your city. The textures mix well with avenues. Keep up the great work. Cheers.
  19. Technopia!!-City of Muizen

This looks good. One thing I will suggest is to get the slope mod for your bridges. Thats your choice thought. Excellent presentation. Cheers.
  20. Tierra de la Oscuridad

This looks great! I like the commercial area. It looks dense and busy. You can't even tell it's Sim City. Great CJ. Cheers.
  21. Schulmania

I have to agree with smarty I really like your building choice. Amazing!
  22. Fortune - Canada's 11th Province

Excellent update. What really stands out for me is the custom parking lots you have placed around your commercial district along the avenue. It looks great. Cheers.
  23. Three Rivers Region

This is very impressive. The last intersection with the tracks is amazing! Excellent work. This is really good work. Cheers.
  24. Revelstoke

Thanks for the comments everyone! Here is the biggest update yet. But first replies to your comments. Hawkeye9: Thanks for the comments, and I'm sure this is the best update so far. MTLT_17: Thanks for the comments again. I'm glad you like the cemetery and the school. Enjoy this update as I know you've had a preview. dfnva: Thanks for the comments. I'm glad you like my suburban areas and I especially like how you have noticed the flaw on Red Coat Trail. I have added additional parking (maybe you can see on the region view) but I won't show it for awhile. ky72x: Thanks for the comments and I'm finally glad someone else thinks cemeteries shouldn't be the standard maxis ones. The south entrance will be a lot more accessible and as I said with dfnva the parking issue has been resolved. I only had to demolish a few businesses but it did improve my transportation network. Get ready for Update 8 everyone. Please Click Here to View Larger Image As I will say again thanks for viewing and any comments are appreciated. Cheers!
  25. One Night in Metro

WOW. Great updates boisemetro. Your work is literally amazing. I love your selection and integration of BAT's. Purely amazing! Cheers.
