I read with interest the 'CAM split' thread and it led me to wondering if CAM presents a new problem, what with the obvious compatibility issues between CAM and non-CAM simcity 4. For those of us who tend more to plop buildings than grow them, and create cities more for the artisticness of it, can we plop CAMeLots without actually installing CAM? I've seen CAMeLots I like but at the same time, I don't want to give up (or update) all my non-CAM custom content. Will it create freakish errorness if I plop CAM buildings into a non-CAM city? (yes, I know the city itself will be 'broken' in terms of growth and demand, and that I couldn't grow CAM buildings, I'm more interested in whether they can be plopped)

Road-top lot that can feed residential?
Sirithil replied to ssfsx17's topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
There are RTMT lots that sit on intersections, and I've found this works well. That's probably the best plan. Just make sure you drag roads over/through them again after plopping, or it messes up u-drive-it. -
Bedevere, a city journal ahead of it's time.

Nuuu, Jane got caught! Free Jane! Free Jane! Keep up the good work. -
I always heard the sound - pretty frequently, even - but never saw any actual rain. It did touch road tiles, I assumed it had to. Is there any way to change the sound effect to something, well, more soothing?

This is a great CJ, I'm still watching it! I love the picture of Jane, she's lovely. Did you do that with Sims 2? And I'll have to try the thing with the rain. Keep up the good work! -

Stardragon: On Peg's site www.simpeg.com you will find four 'reward' navy lots. PEG_Navy_Props_Vol1 is packaged with the first one, which is a battleship dock. The other three are, in order: an AEGIS cruiser dock (which comes with volume 2 of the peg navy props), a reserve destroyer pier, and a sub pen.

And who are you to decide what's wasteful? Yeah, it probably will be expensive to maintain. But if they can make money on it, by definition it's not a waste. And, uh, I should point out that unless you're climbing to the top of the mountain yourself every run, and you're always off trail, never using the lifts, never using the groomed snow, etc. etc. the experience is always going to be artificial. The terrain at a ski resort is cut and landscaped, at least some portion of the snow is man-made, and the inconvenient and exhausting part - climbing to the top - is removed entirely. Artificial. It's still fun, so what's your point?

Okay, I gotta know. Where'd you get that airport terminal? -

That'd be neat. Maybe even a 747 with a flip-up nose door.

Za: Preferably, that whole set of terminal buildings.

Anyone ever encountered the problems with missle launches?
Sirithil replied to Shadow_prophet's topic in SC4 Bugs & Technical Issues
When exactly do the missiles launch? I never get to see it. I hear the sound but I always miss the animation. That's a great military base, by the way! -
Are we getting close enough to get an estimate on a release date? This is utterly spectacular, and I'm very much looking forward to actually using it.

For those of you asking about #10 on my mystery mosaic, I have re-located it and the link is now available. Enjoy!

Nope, no it's not... if you look at the coastline of the UAE, the water is northwest.

What Do you do to help prevent global warming ?
Sirithil replied to tankmank's topic in General Off-Topic
I do... absolutely nothing to stop global warming. I recycle because otherwise the municipality won't take my trash. I use CFL's or LED's because I prefer the brighter light over incandescents. I turn stuff off when I leave the room because I like lower utility bills. But global warming? I don't give a damn about global warming. -
Damn... I want that terminal too x.x

Is there a mod for an ordinace to ban women drivers?
Sirithil replied to Mayor Dale's topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
If you're serious, I bet you could make one. Have it cut traffic by 50%. Naturally you'll need to make it expensive, to pay the death squads of turbaned nutjobs over at the Ministry for the Promotion of Virtue and the Prevention of Vice. -
Wow... who would have thought it was a water tower?? Anyway. Thank you!

Canadian discount store magnate and patron of the arts - he bankrolls a lot of musicals in Toronto. Honestly, I had it in my head that he was already dead.

i didn't watch it, did they even give out hints on how to cut emissions at all?quote> Well, Al Gore went out on stage at one of them and droned on for like ten minutes with some manner of 'seven point pledge' that people were supposed to take. I suspect he was tuned out inside fifteen seconds by the hordes of teenagers baked on bad weed. I love thier choice of words, "carbon neutral" what does that even mean anyways?quote> It means that they want you to buy 'carbon credits' which basically means you pay someone else to go plant a tree or something. It's the biggest scam ever, and is along the lines of, you want to lose weight, so you hire someone to go on a diet for you. Gore actually takes it a step further into scam territory, and buys his 'carbon credits' from a company he owns. If this just sounds like he's trying to spin his investing so you'll be less upset about the fact his house uses 20x the electricity that yours does... .you'd be right.
