WOW nice region. I could never hand terroform. Just don't have have patience. I would say that you should start of by laying down highways and plan where you want your downtown to be. From there, start building your downtown, and add on more cities as suburbs. -
do u have any industrial demand. Its one of those stupid things that we can sometimes forget . Its normal. If not, do u have power or industry in the original city?
-
I totally agree with sam. Maxis created a game where low wealt= bad high wealth= good this creates a problem for you. One way to limit what grows in your city if of course all the amenities such as water, health, and education etc If you don't supply any of these, I doubt that a lot of middle class will move in, and high wealth will not ever become present. I downloaded a gascooker lot the other day(industry). I don't remember the name. It raised the demand for low wealth a bit.

those are some really nice suburbs great work

Hmmmm How come R-$ is always the antagonist in this game. To get the full feel fot the game, you need some low wealth, some middle wealt, and some high wealth. Maxis tries to make it so the low wealth= bad high wealth= good downloading some terrace houses that create better looking low wealth housing is a good idea, this allows you to take all of your attention away from is the industry far away enough to other parts of the game. If you enjoy high wealth, try zoning low wealth around your dirty industry so the poor people can get to their jobs easily and they will all clump up and not infest your city with apartment blocks.

I would have to say everything on the menu that you can build does some good for your city.

Look at my city of "Hikousen"; why arent the Commercial zones developing???
storms991 replied to chomusclavus's topic in SC4 Showcase
here is the solution to your problems. You are zoning zones way too big!!!!! I would recomend that you have two roads with 2x2commercial lots zoned that are adjacent and in front of each other. RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR CCCCCCCCCCCCCRCCCCCCCCCCC CCCCCCCCCCCCCRCCCCCCCCCCC CCCCCCCCCCCCCRCCCCCCCCCCC CCCCCCCCCCCCCRCCCCCCCCCCC RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR R being roads c being commercial high density any variation of that will do but the way you are zoning and building does not allow for the computer to split up the zones into smaller lots. -

????? random? this is a great CJ If you want us to constructively critisize we would. 1. Don't close a CJ for the reasons you have 2. WHY are you being so down on yourself 3. There is no reason to give constructive critisism because there is nothing bad about the friggin region! -

LOL!!!!!!!!!!! omg that is funny! (That house has too much character to be a McMansion)(It doesn't have wooden vinyl siding) I just have to comment on what Ill Tonkso had said in his post. My cousin lives in the states, and there is no such thing as walking to the local store. In the UK, I always take the bus to Town and I always walk to Spar. I to personally hate US urban sprawl. TOO much land, TOO big houses. In the space of one of those houses up there, you could easily build 3 terrace houses. I am from Leicester, UK -

LordTarren In the thread that was posted above, there are several links. The nigh light may be amazing, but the graphics and detail on the buildings are not very good and slopes are very bad. -

McMansions Discussion Thread
storms991 replied to DuskTrooper's topic in Architecture & Urban Planning
If you ask me, I would have to say I completetely despise and hate them. They are like parasites that infest your town and create areas of ugliness. I really believe that the US should start to build terrace houses and houses made solely out of brick instead of merely building the house out of wood and putting brick as siding to look pretty. Brick rules! -
I would also add a fourth runway inbetween the top ones, 1. smaller taxiways 2. more realistic
-
omg what a large picture (*gasp*) how bout Bullring Birmingham. Its an amazing building. pics sorry, but cant find many pics. PS, its a very complex builddings, so it would be good if someone BATted it that was from the Uk and has been there.
