Viceroyalty of Dominea: News, Politics, History & Current Events
slann posted a topic in SC4 City Journals
Dominea Magnus... Fabled Isle, Economic Giant, Political Centre - Jewel of the Empire... An Introduction Dominea is the southernmost, 21st and final core province of the Terran Imperium. The viceroyalty of Dominea is bounded to the north by the viceroyalties of Cerulia and Mithgard and to the east, west and south by the Boundless Ocean (Oceanus Infinitas) Dominea occupies a small part of the Imperium's mainland and the big islands of North Aeneon & South Aeneon, Varagas & the Godsend Islands. It is generally nominated as one of the furthest points within the core realm of the Imperium. Dominea's location is extremely strategic. It is one of the foremost maritime powers on our world - surpassed only by Isladia (the 1st viceroyalty from the Imperial Capital of the Imperium, Imperial City-Arcant). The capital of Dominea, Imperial City-Iridar, is situated between the two Aeneon islands upon the Dominion Corridor - one of the world's busiest sea routes. Dominea regulates the trade between the Imperium's core provinces to the new Imperial lands to the far south across the Oceanus Infinitas. It also maintains the brisk trade between the Imperium and the Eslan Confederation, Rynan Regime, Ondosini Consortium & the City States of Carrachin. Dominea is a beautiful land of towering mountains, hidden valleys, rolling plains set upon cliffs and the raging sea. Its temperate climate makes it a draw to millions of visitors from all over the world. Dominea is also noted for its beautiful metropolitan cities - all of Dominea's major cities are relatively small compared to that of the core provinces and married to the sea and their urban landscapes serve as a delightful contrast to the busier more crowded cities of the Imperium. This is the first of my CJs and it will be a first in a series of ten CJs that shall be slowly growing on Simtropolis. The Viceroyalty of Dominea: Valmont CJ is the pioneer CJ for Dominea - and I hope that you will like the graphics and the city itself that lay within these pages. I am truly honoured for winning the 2006 Trixie for Best Added Graphics in a CJ - and I would like to thank everyone for their support. All the pictures in this CJ is in JPEG format and is hosted offsite to save bandwidth for ST. However, I will be slowly making all the pictures to be within the 800x600 limit set by ST. Thank you for the moderators for allowing me to slowly update each update to conform to this rule. As a rule *grin*, I will be putting updated updates into a Table of Contents - so the pages listed will be fully 800x600 compliant *grin*. Table of Contents: Valmont The Table of Contents will be subdivided into 5 sections - namely the 1) chronological table of contents - with all the updates in a chronological order, the 2) personal messages section (specifically listing out all the personal message updates), the 3) Storyline updates - listing only updates pertaining to the storyline, the 4) Allies & Affiliations section - with listing of all CJs and CJ organisations linked to Dominea and the 5) Graphics of interest section - linking directly to the off-ST graphics of interests. Well - my CJ has been dormant for the better part of 2 years... but it has managed to move forward in the SCJU. After receiving my birthday wishes from Jacqulina - it stirred me to look back at the Dominea thread in Simtropolis - and I just have to put up an update I put up almost a year ago at the SCJU... ENJOY! And Jacqulina - thanks so much for your wishes! This is the thread showing the facilities and festivities of the 2nd Union Games held in Valmont starting from the 1st of July. It is the postponed games due to the Dominean Emergency (Rynan War) and is now duly conducted. Also - the 3rd Union Games host will be selected at the end of the 2nd Games! The 2nd Union Games is conducted from the Metropolis of Valmont within the Viceroyalty of Dominea on Aerth. It is preceeded by the 1st Union Games in Kinata SAR. The Games is hosted at the Union Games Precint in East Valmont by the River Valens. The Gareth Novo-Rhodensianus Stadium (also known as the Union Games Main Stadium) is the main stadium of the 2nd Union Games. All sporting arenas within the Union Games Precint is named after Union presidents. In front of the stadium is the Union Games Square with the Union Games VAMA (Valmont Area Mass-transit Authority) Underground Station directly opposite. This is a photo showing the iDOM office in the Union Games Precint (iDOM is Dominea's tourist information body) - this is the small round dome in the middle of the photo. Also present is the Union Games Tennis Stadium (named Stomont Atlanticus Arena) and the Union Games Football Finals Venue - the Muzz Caledonica Stadium. Overview of the entire precint. =""> This area is known as the Union Games Square. The UG Square is the area immediately in front of the Main Stadium and has some important transport functions. The VAMA underground stadium is linked to the Main Stadium via a wide square as well as the Union Games Circle Line (also under VAMA). This line is a dedicated line that connect all the major venues of the Games within the Precint as well as the car parks, Media Centre, the IDR (Imperial Dominean Railway) Union Games Station. To the west of the underground station (left if you are coming out of the station) is the new Union Games Federation HQ. This is a close-up of the Union Games Square in front of the main stadium. The floor of the plaza is inlaid with a gold-metal alloy that form lines emanating from the SCJU logo - showing that greatness flows from Unity within the Union. Also inscribed are the words Second Union Games, Valmont, Dominea within the circle and the UG motto - Many Nations, One Goal. A night view of the complex Another overview of the complex - this time centred on United World Plaza. The centre of the United World Plaza is a gigantic globe showing Earth - where a majority of the SCJU nations reside. Surrounding the globe is for large mosiac showing the 2nd Union Games' official logo. To the west of the United World Plaza is the Games Tower - the best observation deck to survey the wonderful complex as well as being the tallest tower on the east bank of the Valens. Also visible on the right side is the Aquatic Centre (named Fox Marquii Twin Aquatic Centre) as well as some of the 'capsule towers' that house atheletes during the games (the Union Games Atheletes World Village). A close-up of the Gareth Novo-Rhodensianus stadium with the Union Flag flying strong in the wind. Night view - this time centred on World Unity Plaza. Also coming into view is the Jeb Casanarii Indoor Arena - the main venue for indoor games as well as the popular Cash in, Carry Out (COCO) Park - a large shopping centre (brightly lit - bottom right). On the bottom of the photo is the Charles Cezarinus Gymnastic Stadium. The large building complex in the middle is the University of Valmont Sports Hospital (or Games Hospital) and administrative offices for the Games. EDIT: ADDING THE MOSIACS The Mosiacs Area from the World Unity Plaza, the Games Hospital, Adminstration Buildings going down to the Gymnastic Stadium. Once again the Atheletes Village is visible on the bottom left. Area from the River Valens - first showing the Fusion Power Plant (backup power), the high tech water control system (to ensure only the safest water to the union's best sportmen and women), the Jeb Indoor Arena as well as COCO Park. You can also see the security and safety infrastucture of the Games Precint - with the modern IDFA fire station, IDMP police station and IDES Fast response units. (IDFA - Imperial Dominean Fire Authority, IDMP - Imperial Dominean Metropolitan Police, IDES - Imperial Dominean Emergency Services) Area starting with the Main Stadium going down towards the Aquatic Centre with a big section of the Atheletes Village in view. At the bottom are two hotels - the Sebaden Imperial Union Games and Royal Alicante Valens Hotel. Area following the route of Union Games Avenue - the main thorougfare through the precint. In view is the Indoor Arena, the Games Tower, World Unity Plaza, the Main Stadium (shown here with its retractable roof closed), Union Games Square and the Football Stadium. There are other venues for the games - I will update them later as they are outside of the Games Precint. Also needing updating is the surrounding car parks, Media Centre etc etc and the IDR Station as well as the East Valmont Conference Centre (built in conjunction with the games) -

slann posted a topic in SC4 City Journals
The Culture & Heritage ReservatiON Organisation of the SCJU (CHRONOS) is an SCJU affiliated organisation that is loosely based on the UNESCO World Heritage Site organisation for in-game heritage sites. The motto for CHRONOS is Tempus vincit omnia (Time conquers Everything) Administered from the SCJU's Education, Science and Cultural Initiative, it is open to all SCJU members and members of friendly unions (which is being discussed at the union level). The criteria of selection is based on the UNESCO World Heritage Site one and REQUIRES in-game pictures of the site. The CHRONOS criteria is as follows:- Civic Sites (i) to represent a masterpiece of creative genius; (ii) to exhibit an important interchange of values, over a span of time or within a cultural area of the world, on developments in architecture or technology, monumental arts, town-planning or landscape design; (iii) to bear a unique or at least exceptional testimony to a cultural tradition or to a civilization which is living or which has disappeared; (iv) to be an outstanding example of a type of building, architectural or technological ensemble or landscape which illustrates (a) significant stage(s) in human history; (v) to be an outstanding example of a traditional human settlement, land-use, or sea-use which is representative of a culture (or cultures), or human interaction with the environment especially when it has become vulnerable under the impact of irreversible change; (vi) to be directly or tangibly associated with events or living traditions, with ideas, or with beliefs, with artistic and literary works of outstanding universal significance. (The Committee considers that this criterion should preferably be used in conjunction with at least ONE other criteria); Natural Sites (vii) to contain superlative natural phenomena or areas of exceptional natural beauty and aesthetic importance; (viii) to be outstanding examples representing major stages of earth's history, including the record of life, significant on-going geological processes in the development of landforms, or significant geomorphic or physiographic features; (ix) to be outstanding examples representing significant on-going ecological and biological processes in the evolution and development of terrestrial, fresh water, coastal and marine ecosystems and communities of plants and animals; (x) to contain the most important and significant natural habitats for in-situ conservation of biological diversity, including those containing threatened species of outstanding universal value from the point of view of science or conservation. The protection, management, authenticity and integrity of properties are also important considerations. A site that fulfils the criteria on both the civic and natural criteria can be considered MIXED sites of both civic and natural importance. -
Looking good 6cents! I think your avenue is interesting and have a definite feel of oppression to it Great work!

Culture & Heritage ReservatiON Organisation of the SCJU (CHRONOS)

The SCJU CHRONOS Civil & Natural Heritage Sites List (Update I: 01-08-2008) Listings approved in the past month (July) for listing in AUGUST. LISTED - Civil Heritage Site Temple of Piramesse, Province of New Rhodesia (PNR) Emain An Srúthan Milís, Imperial Kingdom of Atlantis (IKA) Tor Valens Old City Centre, Viceroyalty of Dominea (DOM) Strangford Old Town, Imperial Kingdom of Atlantis (IKA) LISTED - Natural Heritage Site LISTED - Mixed (Civil & Natural) Heritage Site Temple of Piramesse, Province of New Rhodesia (PNR) The temple was built in northern Egypt within the area of the Egyptian Delta, In the nineteenth dynasty, Ramesses II founded the new Capital of Piramesse (also spelled: Pi-Ramases), within this grand city the Temple of Anubis, was constructed. In 1960, due to the construction of the Great Dam of Refan and the consequent threat posed to several monuments and archaeological sites, ES&CI made an international call to save this rich historical patrimony. As a sign of gratitude for the help provided by New Rhodesia in saving the temple of Piramesse, the Egyptian state donated the temple to New Rhodesia in 1968. The temple was rebuilt in one of the most beautiful parks in New Rhodesia. It constitutes one of the few works of ancient Egyptian architecture which can be seen outside Egypt and the only one of its kind in the British Isles. Emain An Srúthan Milís, Imperial Kingdom of Atlantis (IKA) Location – Strangford, Imperial Kingdom of Atlantis Located in the historic town of Strangford this Celtic Burial Mound is one of the oldest in the world. In 500BC Celtic settlers arrived from western Ireland and with them brought the idea of nation building. Led by the second son of the Irish High Chief of Caledon they based themselves in the first and oldest inhabited settlement called Strangford (meaning Sea-Inlet ). The Celtic settlers developed a new culture, language and learning with one of the most important imports being the idea of defining borders. As such in 200BC after many years of exploring the entire landmass a new nation was created and was to be named after the family which led the colonisation and exploration, this new country would be called Caledon and in 170BC the First High Chief of Caledon died and was entombed in a new earthen mound. Stranmillis Fort or Emain An Srúthan Milís (Gaelic) remains the most important and historic site in the history of the former nation of Caledon and the Imperial Kingdom of Atlantis. 20 years ago a new museum of Strangford History was built and houses countless artefacts that were excavated from the site in the 20th and 21st Century. Tor Valens Old City Centre, Viceroyalty of Dominea (DOM) Location: Tor Valens Old City Centre, Tor Valens, City of Ard Valrin, Metropolis of Valmont, Viceroyalty of Dominea Brief Description The Tor Valens Old City Centre in Ard Valrin is the site of one of the oldest military settlements in Dominea and the southern empire. First established by the 1st wave of imperial expansion in Dominea, Tor Valens was subsequently destroyed after the Azrite rebellion and was subsequently re-established around 1100 years later (around 2900-3000PI). Tor Valens is situated on a tall bluff overlooking the River Valens, in the middle of the river valley and became the centre of imperial power in this corner of the empire. It serves as a nexus of imperial administration as well as being the largest city in the area during classical times. By the time of the Imperial Civil War, the city was at its zenith of glory and power. The Imperial Civil War saw the city razed and plundered - the city will never rise to its former glory again. Tor Valens was rebuilt by the new rulers of the region, the House Mellor (which becomes the Viceroyal House of Mellor-Iridani) - this time no longer as a city but as an imperial fort. The old city centre - with the forum and its temple on the highest point of the hill was restored and stronger fortifications were built around it. Over the centuries, further additions were added to this fort, including a keep and a cathedral. However, the surrounding city was never rebuilt and gradually returned to the wilderness. It was not until the recent millennium that a city surrounds this historical site - being the suburbs of the City of Ard Valrin, the new capital of the Duchy of the Southern Marches. Site Definition The Tor Valens site is divided generally into two major zones - one being the Historic Old City Centre as well as the Tor Valens Spring Reserve. The Historic Old City Centre is itself divided into two zones - one being the Classical Zone containing the pre-Imperial Civil War Forum, temples & residences and the Medieval Zone with the post-Imperial Civil War fortifications, keep and cathedral. The Tor Valens Spring Reserve is a natural spring from an underground aquifer that was the city/fort's most important asset - supplying water to its inhabitants and defenders since the distant beginnings of the empire. Recent investments by the Mellor-Iridani family and the Duchy of the Southern Marches has furnished the site with a new state of the art visitor centre & museum. The site is maintained by the Dominean Heritage Authority & Trust as well as conservationists from the nearby University of Valmont. Further Views of the Site A close-up view of the Classical Zone with the Forum (and its distinctive Imperial Rostrum - similar to the ones currently in use) prominently surrounded by temples and statues of legends and heroes The Medieval Zone with the Keep and Cathedral in view. The Cathedral remains a consecrated site and regular services are still being held. Another view of the Classical Zone The Tor Valens Spring Reserve with the Sebaden Tor Valens Historical Resort (which will be outside the proposed CHRONOS Heritage Zone) Strangford Old Town, Imperial Kingdom of Atlantis (IKA) Location - Strangford, Imperial Kingdom of Atlantis Very little is know of the people if any that inhabited this land before the last ice age, the ice destroyed any trace of settlement. During the last ice age we formed part of a large north European continent connected to what is now known as Ireland and Ireland was in turn connected with Britain. As such much of the Imperial Kingdom of Atlantis shares many of the same plant and animal species as the island of Ireland and like Ireland the Imperial nation also does not have any snakes J With the melting of the ice, the nation to be known as Caledon and later Atlantis became an island nation. The first settlers from Ireland arrived on the eastern shores roughly around 3000BC. The first sailed into a sea inlet which was to become Strangford (literally meaning Sea-Inlet). These new settlers brought with them pottery and agriculture as well as sheep and cattle that had been imported into Ireland from southern Europe. Over the next 1000 years the population grew and expanded westward to explore what was to be a large land. The age of Bronze heralded new advances and helped develop trade routes to Europe and the Isle of Britain. In roughly 500BC Celtic settlers arrived from Ireland and with them came the most important changes in the entire history of the Caledon nation. The Celts brought a new language, learning, new technology and one of the most important was the goal to define boundaries. Leading this new wave of settlement was the second son of the High Chief of Caledon. As the population matured and developed a new nation was to be formed and would be named after the influential Caledon family. In 200BC the nation of Caledon was born and its capital was to be Strangford………… From this historic town a nation grew and developed. Expeditions were sent out to the furthest coasts and for the first time the nation was mapped. A new social structure was established with the Caledon family as the Chief Clan. Christianity was also introduced to the new nation and all other pagan rituals were banned. The first Christian church and Abbey were build just north of Strangford in a place called Brehon. This period of growth and developed continued till 1245AD. In 1245AD the Normans invaded from their stronghold in what is known today as Galway, Ireland. They landed north of the capital Strangford and were met with strong resistance. They continued to push south toward the capital and after 4 years defeated the forces of Caledon. The nation was however spared widespread anarchy when Chief Dermott Caledon agreed to allow his daughter marry the Norman Commander, Raulfe Fitz-Amadeus. King and Queen Amadeus were so crowned the divine rulers of Caledon and so started the rule of the Amadeus family in Caledon which would last till the nation itself fell in 2150AD. The Normans built Strangford into a defensive city and port and the first Norman castle was constructed. The nation continued to develop and did not suffer the fate of Ireland. British rule never occurred. However, several English traditions were adopted, a new land owning class was established as well as a Royal Court. This was threatened in 1649 when Cromwell invaded Ireland brutally crushed all opposition. In 1653 several ships set sail from the west coast of Ireland to Caledon. The well trained and equipped Caledon forces has prepared for such an attack and on the 5th April 1653 the Cromwellian forces were defeated and their ships sunk in Strangford harbour. The English did not attempt another invasion again and instead over the years developed trade links between Ireland and Britain. Caledon benefited greatly from this new wealth and a decision was taken to built a new capital. The move from Strangford was a severe blow for the city and its reputation. It lost its Royal Palace and houses of government. It’s importance declined and Strangford itself declined, a new and larger port was also opened closer to the new capital, Queenstown. Strangford however remained an important city, it was home to the first hospital and private university in Caledon. It was also given a Lord Mayor in 1760, the only city at the time in Caledon to have such a civic position. During the 18th and 19th Century trade was exploited with the powerful Dutch empire and the influence of the the Dutch presence can be seen by the extensive Dutch style buildings in Stangford Old Town. In the early 1990’s the town was revitalised when a government programme was introduced to repair and preserve the Norman castle, old city walls and historic buildings from further environmental damage and protect against modern development. The old town was given ‘Historic Significance Status’ and a new period of growth started. Sections of the damaged castle and walls were rebuilt and the entire old town had roads removed and new paved walkways were put in place. The shorefront was also reclaimed and developed into a wonderful civic waterfront space. With the outbreak of the Europa-Larisa war the town was given special air protection to prevent missile or air attack damage. The end of the war brought national trauma when the last remaining members of the historic Royal Amadeus bloodline were killed in a missile attack on the capital Queenstown. In the period of national mourning that followed the death of King Amadeus his body was taken to Strangford to lie in state for 3 days in the former Royal Keep, the town where the bloodline started, after which King Amadeus was returned to Queenstown to be buried in the Cathedral of Kings. On the journey back from Strangford over 700,000 people lined the route to the capital from the birthplace of the Royal Family in a symbol of immense national solidarity. The towns importance in history was not yet over. In 2228 the National Movement for Reconciliation and Prosperity came to power with a mandate for change. It’s leader, Caleb Stormont, came to Strangford and announced the creation of a new nation. One that would aim to emulate the power and prestige of Caledon while using the skills and technology of this era to carve a nation that would be the envy of the world. Within 100 years this vision has been achieved, a new nation, this current nation was born and grew and indeed prospered. Strangford today is a town at the very heart of the nations of Caledon and Atlantis, it has been witness to the birth, death and rebirth of a nation all the while it retains its old town charm and sense of place. -
*grin* Jason - your CJ so far is excellent! I really like the way it is panning out! BTW, am truly honoured that you listed my humble CJ as one of your inspirations! Keep up the good work!

Viceroyalty of Dominea: News, Politics, History & Current Events
slann replied to slann's topic in SC4 City Journals
*grin* Dear all, after much 'persuasion' from Simfan - I am posting news of Dominea's participation in the recent SCJU storyline here in ST. Dominea has been dormant but I do realise how much this CJ and all of you guys mean to me when I thought it was lost *grin* So I will definately try and cook up something for ST! So here goes... Now... after almost a year - the 1st update of IBC Dominea for 2008 *grin* Faith ta Farcannon: Troubles in the Pacific island nation of Phoenoia reached a devastating climax yesterday with the sinking of a Phoenoian destroyer by New Rhodesian forces in the area. IBC Dominea special correspondant Richard ri Cephari is at the New Rhodesian capital to bring you the latest breaking news... Richard? Richard ri Cephari: Thank you Faith. I am standing here at the naval headquarters in New Rhodesia where officials from the NR navy has given us the latest updates on the ongoing drama in the Pacific. Faith ta Farcannon: Good - so what exactly is happening Richard? Richard ri Cephari: It is a remarkable twist in the tale here Faith. NR naval spokesperson has reported that NR actually did not attack Phoenoian naval forces unilaterally but rather in support of Phoenoian naval ships. The report says that at approximate 11:25AM local time, NR forces in the area observed a skirmish between three Phoenoian ships - of which two were pro-unionist and another is pro-isolationists. It now appears that the two pro-unionist ships are now sailing with NR forces to liberate their homeland. Faith ta Farcannon: So the rumours of the Phoenoian forces turning upon one another is true? Richard ri Cephari: We really cannot say at this time. NR is claiming it as such but I am sure the the Phoenoian senate will condemn this as an unprovoked attack upon its forces and that the two ships has been coerced into join NR by sheer brute force. Faith ta Farcannon: So how can we determine which side is telling the truth? Richard ri Cephari: We can't. At least not at this moment. However, the NR Admiralty has issued a statement via its spokesperson condemning the moves made by both New Burgundy and Sierrastare criticising NR's action. Faith ta Farcannon: So now the million dollar question Richard - where does Dominea stand? Richard ri Cephari: I guess I cannot answer that. All in all it is an extremely sticky situation for the Dominean government. Dominea has always been strongly pro-union with strong ties with SCJU nations - including New Burgundy and New Rhodesia. If Dominea is not careful, we may be drawn into a conflict between SCJU nations. Faith ta Farcannon: An actual war between SCJU nations? Is that even possible? Richard ri Cephari: Hard to say Faith - really! Tensions and tempers are running high at the moment. An earlier session at the SCJU secretariat, there was open arguments between delegates of the various deleg... Faith ta Farcannon: Sorry Richard - but I have to cut away from you at the moment. We have breaking news from the Department of External Affairs and Diplomacy right here in Valmont. Richard ri Cephari: No problems Faith - I will be standing by. Faith ta Farcannon: To our viewers just joining us. We are currently reporting that NR has announced that its action in the Pacific is in support of pro-union forces loyal to President Gabreies - and not a unilateral action. We are now cutting to DEAD in Valmont of which DEAD Earth Affairs spokesman, Baron Fyodir no Garivos is issuing a statement. Baron Fyodir no Garivos: My fellow Lords and Ladies of the realm, Ladies and Gentlemen. Dominea stands united with our close allies New Rhodesia in the defense of freedom. As such, it is my duty to inform you that Dominea will support NR's naval action in support of pro-union forces loyal to President Gabreles. We are a peace-loving nation and abhors violence. However we will not stand quietly in the face of the atrocities of the pro-isolationist regime currently occupying Phoenoia. We serve notice so that none will stand in our way to liberate a nation so ravaged by war and discontent. Nations, be it in the SCJU opposing us and our actions may find themselves standing opposite a resolute Dominea - prepared to unleash the full measure for justice. However, we seek compromise - we seek concensus. At this moment as we speak... diplomats from this office is delivering a note to the New Burgundian embassy seeking an audience with its highest officials to resolve this conflict between NR and NB. As a gesture of sincerity, Her Grace Lady Christina Mellor-Iridani will personally lead the delegation to New Burgundy to seek a reversal of NB policy at the moment. I read from excerpts of that note - "this government believes that the people of Phoenoia requires our aid to liberate them from their current circumstances. As such, we express our strongest support to NR and seek the NB government to join us in our efforts." From there she will proceed to meet with New Rhodesian officials and President Gabreles and address the SCJU General Assembly. So ends my prepared statement. I am open for questions Correspondent I: Lord Garivos. Lillile from TVD3. Will be get militarily involved? Baron Fyodir no Garivos: Yes if need be. The Acleis has confirmed that it is sending a second fleet of 15 ships to the area. Ships involved in this exercise will be lead by the venerable IDES Morbent Fell. The Morbent Fell battlegroup will join the current IDES Darius Westfall. Correspondent II: Melinda. Imperial Times. Will Lady Christina's visit to NR and her meeting with President Gabreles jeapordise our relationship with other SCJU nations? Baron Fyodir no Garivos: I do not think so. I am sure all nations will see the sense in the joint New Rhodesian - Dominean position and unite behind us to help President Gabreles return to Pheonoia... triumphantly. IBC Correspondent, Mariella Belgara: What else is Dominea doing now to assist in the humanitarian needs to the people of Phoenoia? Baron Fyodir no Garivos: Well, we are currently channelling aid to all unio areas is Phoenoia. So we sincerely hope that many more parts of the nation will adopt the unio - at least temporarily so that the aid can reach them. It is their choice! Faith ta Farcannon: We cut away from the press conference to bring you a concurrent announcement by the Acleis in Ce'rae. It appears that naval forces in the Pacific is being deployed quickly into the theatre. Here we are seeing naval helicopters taking off to search for potential enemy forces as our naval fleet increases its operating tempo to counter potential threats to Dominea's position. It has been announced that our forces will be in a joint fleet command... under a New Rhodesian commander. Below is the newspaper regarding the recent events -

Hey - guys - sorry to say this but due to the fact that I now hardly have the luxury of time to play SC4 - I guess Dominea is now dormant... I don't know if I ever will get the time to continue with its development - but thank you all so much for your great support!!! -

The Battle for Tor Mosa – Day 7 Arthur ni Anderson: Ladies and Gentlemen, I bring you breaking news. The Acleis has announced its withdrawal from Tor Mosa as reinforcements were diverted to counter a possible invasion by Rynan forces about 230km east of the city. Sarena? Sarena ce Thanthalos: Yes Arthur. The Acleis, via Exalt-General Borrodean, released to the press this graphic – showing the unfortunate fall of Saqar Bridge in Tor Mosa. It has been announced that the evacuation of the unfortunate city is almost complete. Imperial forces had managed to overcome the rebel garrison to the east of the city and have opened a secure corridor into Near Kalast. The new Imperial Military Prefect of Kalast, General Felix du al-Mohr said that this tactical withdrawal is temporary and that the Empire has no intention of giving up an inch of Kalast soil. It is now reported that Sacra, the southernmost city in Far Kalast is secure with its overwhelming loyalist population and the Acleis has secured most of Near Kalast from rebel influences. The Acleis also reports a major Rynan force gathering in the Regime city of Ryn’hanna and are preparing to move another major force down to Kalast from Isladia and Cerulia. On other news, the Imperial Observatory in Mithgard just informed us that the Near Aerth Object, now designated Asteroid NA-55411 has a trajectory that will bring it onto the planet… Arthur ni Anderson: Sorry to cut in again Sarena. I bring you live images from the news feed of our affiliate down in the Rynan Regime – RSS News. It seems that forces of the Rynan Regime have crossed the border about 230km from Tor Mosa at the Mor’harva border crossing. The Mor’harva crossing was abandoned by Imperial Forces about two months before. Here are official pictures released by the Acleis. Imperial border forces have opened fire… I repeat, opened Fire on the advancing Rynan Forces. Ladies and Gentlemen… We are witnessing the first shots of the first modern war between the Rynan Regime and the Empire. The last time both nations have come to open warfare it was about 200 years ago during the initial Kalast liberation by Imperial Forces. We now turn to our correspondent embedded in the Kalast VI covering the tactical withdrawal, Howard ru Armitage. Howard ru Armitage: Morning Arthur, I am here with the Kalast VI regiment deployed 10km north east of Tor Mosa, just beyond Arnsa Creek. We are now covering the tactical withdrawal of both the Kalast IX and the Civite XLI River Varigar out of Tor Mosa. Arthur ni Anderson: Can you tell me how the situation on the ground is? Howard ru Armitage: Well – the weather here is hot and windy but I gather that is not what you are after. The withdrawal is orderly but there is sporadic gunfire in the distance. Both units have lost about 25% of their combat strength. The Rebel artillery bombardment has stopped but we can see the smoke plume from here from the burning buildings in the centre of Tor Mosa in the distance behind me. I think the military intend to withdraw to a defensive line about 80km north of our current position and await reinforcements. Arthur ni Anderson: Well, I hope you have a safe withdrawal there. Back here in Iridar, there are rumours that the High Marshall shall be using the full extent of Dominean military technology to counter this new Rynan invasion. Once we get the latest news we will keep you informed. --- End of this Update! --- Oh BTW - this is for Simfan *grin* A closer look at the badly designed Rebel Flag -

Hi Everyone! Greetings from the Emerald Island - Ireland! This is just a reply update for now - but I am uplaoding pictures for an update soon Pip!: Thanks *grin* 6U: Hahahah - these rebels are sheep eaters too! Dominea will be reacting soon. Leech: Railgun? Dominea has no Railgun... *looks around suspiciously* wat railgun...? What do u know!? We have NO railgun!!! Oh, Leech! Hahahhaha - u are bloody funny *grin* Foxie!: Thanks Foxie! Glad that u r returning to ST *grin* The Dominean government gratefully accept SMI's support and prayers. Its people gratefully wish and pray that the citizens of SMI will have a prosperous and great year ahead. Jacqulina: Go get em! 20,000 next! *grin* Thanks for your compliments! Your activity and kind remarks is the reason why so many of us actively write our CJs! Yoman: Hahaha - blowing up the bridge would be an idea. Which is why it is in the contingency plan. The other bridge is not strong enough to support the weight of mechanised units and Dominean troops are severely outnumbered. Simfan34: The rebel flag? Of course I will be happy to oblidge. It is actually claw marks of the mountain tiger and the wordings at the bottom is the words in Kalasti script - Milkatari Kalastika Indipendencia - Kalasti Independence Army. Good suggestions - but Arnsa Creek is important to capture as it is the best way for a tactical withdrawal. Jay_allen1978: Thanks for visiting and your kind comments - hope you come back again! 2ch: Welcome back! Glad that you are observing *grin* I love ur CJ! and your BATs! Belfastuniguy: Thanks mate! And welcome to Dominea *grin* Hope to see u at the SCJU forums as well!
