Embankment 15m to 20m sunken Highway Sets (Request)

Can someone please, and I mean please model some lots or make some models that look liek realisitc embankments to sunken highways. I found one, but it looks very unrealistic when used the way I use them. The way they were ment to be used is different from my highway style. I need models that would hug the exit ramps, like the embankments you find in Matrix II the movie. In that movie there is a highway scean and the exit ramps are engulfed with walls and I want a set that does exactly that. It can also be fancy, or simple, as long as it HUGS the exit ramp in a way to make the grass not appear there. Also signs would be nice on them, and lamps, and other neat things to match a sunken ground highway. I tried and attempted to do it, but the splines will not snap to grid in gmax properly. I know how to make them snap, but they are off, WAY OFF!! I even followed tutets on this site, and I am about ready to give up, so if anyone can please make them for me! It would be very appricated! -
Actually this post is kinda to help remind new batters how to fix some issues with garbage, or unrealistic garbage use! The other day I downloaded a bunch of lots, most the gas stations and stores shops.... Like K-mart, Wal-Mart, ect... Well its funny how after they were plopped or grown in my city that the garbage levels sky rocketted.... It's only these shops and stores that do this to me, not sure if there are other buildings I downloaded that did the same thing, but I opened up iLive Reader and opened these Lots/Desc files... and guess what the Garbage levels were? some were reasonable like 10 or 20..... but others were like 200!!! or even 400!!! I know this might be cheating the authors original design, but I changed them to 0 imediatly!! It is rediculous how much garbage these push out! So be sure to set your garbage use to a reasonable number... I believe the numbers are in tons, so if you have a house, it would be less then 1 ton a month and might as well be 0 per each. Commercial would be most likely 2 tons per month each, like gas stations or stores... Big Commercial buildings might be over 10 tons... but not much higher then that. Industrial, depending on the type, coulc be anywhere from 1 ton to 40 tons. But seriously, some Batters need to start paying attention to the garbage issue, as it kills our cities once we go plopping your lots into them. To fix these issues open up iLive reader, this is if you missed plugin managers dilogs. And change the following to 0 or a resonable number! Pollution at Center ok, there are 4 values here, 1st is the air pollution this building generates, 2nd is water pollution it generates, 3rd is the ammount of garbage this generates, 4th is the ammount of radiation this generates. Example: Pollution at Center = 0x00000001, 0x00000002, 0x00000001, 0x00000000 This would be 1,2,1,0 Which would seem realistic numbering.... But goto your lot and look at these numbers... I saw some that said 0x000000FF, I mean come on!! Thats 255 tons of garbage a month per this building!!!!! It is best to pay attention to these values, as it will be a difference from a perfect city, to a failing one becuase of too much garbage!! Another interesting fact, make these values negative, and it will reduce the effect, the higher the negative number, the better the result, but thats if you like cheating? Pollution Radii This is the same thing as above, but the radius of the effect, again first one is Air Pollution, second water pollution, 3rd garbage radius, and Radiation radius.... You know what? I always keep these values 0,0,0,0 becuase thats clean, and it give undesireable effects to local buildings when they have pollution... Well I hope I been of help, and please, when making new bats consider the above options, and change them before distribution of your Lots/Bats...

ardecila, it is in tons... lol Becuase you know how I know? Plopped a 2x2 landfill, made some ploppables with 1 ton of garbage use, and when you ID the garbage, it says 1 ton per month. -

cogeo , umm... parks would produce garbage, becuase city services have to pick up garbage there as well, but not enough to make 1 ton. I am not sure SimCity will allow decimals, if it could, then the value would be small, like .5 tons per month. Edit: OMG!! I just realised something, 2200 pounds is a ton, and my family is a family of 4 and we hardly ever go over 150 pounds a month of garbage!!! So basically the garbage use is way out of real life scale!!! -

Even SimCity's defualt buildings are unrealistic... but half the time I see its for balance... I wish there was a Mod that changed the SimCity defualt values on each building to a more realistic value, becuase frankly, 7 to 12 people living in one house is incorrect, 1 ton garbabge a month from 1 house is unrealistic, and polution? I do not remember houses giving polution, unless the person lives there is a smoker! Plus the reporting of the population is inconsistant I noticed recently. Also, I dunno what city has big housing projects that are big as they are in SimCity.... I never seen them in Dallas, Texas, and never seen them in other major cities, I mostly see major Commercial buildings and small apartments. There are supposed to be Commercials and small apartments, not big ones like they are found in SimCity cities, then you have the light residentials on the outskirts, and farther out you have the small commercial shops, stores, and gas stations along avenues and major highways and roads... then the farther out, there is more farm land or Industrials and special recreational areas and parks, bigger then the ones found in town. I guess its hard though to make a game be realistic... but thats what someone should make, a MOD that improves values, not stick with the standard. As for those other Lots and props, well they should be re-edited to be more realistic, or not downloaded at all. Now, if your a cheater, and do not like realistic, then keep the values like they are, and make them unrealstic... but for people who want it realistic, well... I suggest the above mentioned, becuase SimCity defualts are far from realistic themself. Edit: I forgot to explain why the population is unrealistic. Well in a 2 bedroom house you will have no more then 4 people, 2 people on average unless they have children, then maybe 3. So base the housing and population off that scale. In 1 Bedroom apartment room, or a house you would have no more then 1 or 2 people in that house normally. So the following scale would be more realistic, and since Simcity defualts to not fill those houses up fully all the time, it would be more realistic. Bedrooms in house People max staying in house Garbage use 1 2 .1 tons 2 4 .2 tons 3 6 .3 tons 4 8 .4 tons Thats for houses. Now for apartment duplexes and other houses, do some research online to find out the max occupants to get a more accurate population. Same for Large appartment buildings. The Garbage would not be too high, but possibly no more then 10 tons a month. I did not mention commercials either, a gas stations employees would be like 1 to 5, so max would be 5 employees and the max garbage use would be 2 tons a month. A large commercial building depending on how many Offices, and type of buisness. I would say 1 employee per office room in the building, and add a few for cleaning crews, and employees that do not require an office. Garbage use would be no more then 1 ton per say 10 employees. -

I seen your post before Andreas Roth however, I disagree with downloading an extra program that someone made, when it can be done in plugin manager.... Which is another note to my above post... To avoid having to go about doing it in iLive, I think batters should change those values immediatly after making the lot in plugin manager... Plus, they are easier to read and change in plugin manager as well... -
Cambisa Island by MayorAce 2005 Well, this will be my first CJ, so I figured I would start out with a bang. I will be posting pics as I go along, and I kinda started this CJ a little late, as I started this City last night. Anyways, I will begin explain some things before I show off my screen shots and get them together on here. I will post them after this one, since I have so many pictures to show, and really I play SimCity 4 way too much, so the updates might be fast, but I will be updating daily or every other day most likely. What made me think of this Region and City name? Well, I was working on a Region named Realistic, which I was trying my best to make Realistic looking, from the main city center, to the farms in the outskirts, and the industries. However, one day I was searching here on SimTropolis for beach sets, since I felt my Realistic needed beaches. I then decided after getting the beach set, that I would try them out in my city, however there was no bouy's in the set, which had upset me. So I created a new bouy set to go with it. (Forgive me whoever made the beach set, they will know who they are, but I just can not remember there name for the life of me.) Anyways, after messing with the beach set and my bouy's I got this notion to create something new and uniuqe, with an idea I never thought of doing before. Well sorta not before, I always wanted to make islands, but not one so small and 1 region in size. So I decided to come up with this sweet little Island. The idea for the name... well lets just say it felt and sounded Island like to me. I wanted a name that seemed Island related. So thats how I came up with the idea and name. What sets are you using? Good question, I have so many sets I am using that I can not mention them all, so forgive me if I miss anyone on the list of MODs and Bats. The ones I have to thank mosts are the following: PEG Productions, Pegasus Who ever made NAM, forgive me again for forgetting your name. The Beach Set I got, forgive me for forgetting your name as well. Who ever made the Expanded UI mod. Jrn's Shore conforming sea walls. GDV's Mayor Tropical set GDV's Hut houses and many others, but I want to thank PEG the most becuase without any of his Lots, SimCity 4 would not be as addictive as it was. Did you cheat in making this? Yes! I have to, to make what I want, I am not after stradgy in this game, I am after Model design, kinda like building your own train set with all the pieces. Thats how I treat SimCity. I also made my Casino give $500,000 a month! So thats one of the cheats I used. Cheats I used in order: Custom Casino I did, gives $500,000 a month. howdryiam cheat fightthepower cheat you don't deserve it cheat Why only a 1 city region? I wanted the challenge, well challenge to me, since I cheat anyways, to make 1 city, and only 1 city that is Large in size for one region. Where did you get the terrain for your City? Well, I don't have photoshop anymore, so I use Paint Shop Pro, I did a gray scale of the terrain, and worked very hard making sure I had soft edges for pefect beaches, and wanted that nice C shaped Island as you see in the above pic. The fine cliffs I did in game with terrain tools and Mayor tools. I will explain future plans in the next posts along with current screen shots. Well I downloaded some custom Lots, I wonder if that would improve the population, brb going to run the city then take some screen shots if there are any improvements... Good god I envy people like you... I can model design, but not as good as you and others I seen do it... I really wish to know how yall get so complex without pulling hairs out of your heads! Very nice work, and hope to see the finished project soon!

Those cables add to the realism, but in all realistic... if viewed from above or in space... you wont see the cables that dark and fine.... I think it looked better without those cables... plus it might speed up your rendering for more important things, like the rest of the building. All-in-all, I love your project so far, and its very much beuitifull and resembles what your striving to make. I may not personally want it, becuase its not my style of buildings to use... but its very wonderfull, and I do not see how anyone would not want that besides my case! Keep up the great work, and hope to see the finished product!

Yes, I do have those, and use them... thanks for the suggestion, however, like vester said, its not what I am looking for... Matter of fact I want to know the person who made those, and ask them to attempt to remake them to work with my style of highways like the screen shots describe. Basicaly, have them hugging the on ramps. I will post a screen shot of how I use his in a few, but first I have some things to do, I am going from one project to the next.... Working on growable houses at the moment... -
How to Turn Ploppable BATs into Growable Buildings

You do know it is possible to make a growables without opening an existing Residential, Commercial, or Industrial Lot... The Building or Foundation so to speak defines what type of Zone, Name, ect, and What this Lot does. You will have to replace the building with the Building you created with Plugin Manager in LE. Example: After creating your BAT Model, open up your Plugin Manager. Select the folder Models, drag and drop the BAT Model from there to your Foundations. Then select the folder Models again, drag and drop the BAT Model from there to any of the RCI folders, such as R$, or R$$ and so on. After you set the values Troc explained earlier, click the Advanced tab, then select the drop down list next to Building foundation. Select from the list your Foundation you just created. Open up LOT editor, open any of the lots you wish to edit. Replace the building with the building you just created. Make sure your LOT size is big enough to hold the building. Next, after editing it, save as, and name it what ever you feel. Now open up iLive Reader, open the SC4Desc file you created with the plugin Manager, make sure all the values are exactly what you want, the values are the same ones you set when you created it in Plugin Manager. Now do the same, but this time open the SC4Lot version of it. Make sure your values in LD files, and Exmplar files match perfectly. Now below I will explain some values you need or can change, or need to add if not existant. Also explaining what values = to. Growth Stage 0x01 Stage 1 0x02 Stage 2 0x03 Stage 3 0x04 Stage 4 0x05 Stage 5 0x06 Stage 6 0x07 Stage 7 0x08 Stage 8 LotConfigPropertyZoneTypes 0x01 Light Density 0x02 Medium Density 0x03 High Density LotConfigPropertyWealthTypes 0x01 Low Wealth 0x02 Medium Wealth 0x03 High Wealth LotConfigPropertyPurposeTypes 0x01 Residential 0x02 Commercial 0x03 Industrial (Correct me if I am wrong on this one above!) Now on your LD file, make sure they match everything. Version = LotConfigPropertyVersion Compatability = Ignore this... Wealth = MUST MATCH THE WEALTH SIGN!!!! IE if Low wealth, then $, if medium then $$ and so on! Zone = RCI what ever your Lot is, if Residential, then R, COmmercial then C, if Industrial then I Stage Lot = Growth Stage Click aplly once they match! Then save! If you get an error about > 255!!! Ignore that!! It works perfect in game! -

Underestimated me? I may be new to the whole BAT thing and Modding for SimCity.... but I am not in anway new to using 3D programs such as gmax, or using computers... I learn relatively fast becuase everything is simular. So do not underestimate me, I have high determination at times... Thanks for the comments guys, I know your most likely wanting an update of some sort. Well remember my last post? Where I posted the change from a wall, to a slope? Well here is how it looks so far, still have the bugs, but getting better on the LOD, and I am going to do some Mesh smoothing to fix the corners and edges. Will be doing more updates, for now enjoy this eye candy.... I really wish someone else would do this, but I am doing this more for me then anyone to tell the truth, becuase I need them badly to make my Realistic Cities, Look more realistic. Oh by the way, I model fast, the only reason I am taking so long doing this, is becuase I took a short break to work on my cities in my Region Realistic. Downloaded some Lot Buildings and they look sweet in it! Anyways, comments are welcome as always, and I hope you enjoy this update... -

15 meters in height? Why not 16 meters? I will have to make it off to give the appearance of going behind the wall and below it. Right now the new version is 16m in hieght above 0 axis, and then another -16 below 0... so I should lower it 8, and raise the bottom of it by 8? Oh, btw it is a prop! -

So CJ's are not only about SimCity 4 Cities... nice pics... I like taking pics too, and I would go crazy with a digital cam! Just if I did not sell mt 5 Mega Pixel one! I took alot of pics when going to lousiana and going to a Casino. It snowed on the way back! So I got some lovely pics of that. I see you like taking pics too and showing them off, I love showing off pics too. Great CJ nonethee less!! Very good indeed! I must say, I never been to these places, but from the looks in your photos, it looks very nice! Maybe one day in my life I will visit Wales and other countries that are buetifull like that! -

Wow, thanks guys, its not even done and I am getting good comments... Maybe I should work harder on this! After so many hours wasted away, I still have not resolved the issue, and even tried re-alining the LOD's, apparently, the ramp don't like being overlapping. So I guess I will have to resize the model, or something. Gosh, I am so tired right now! I am supposed to be fixing my sleeping so I can get a Job, and here I am staying up for long amounts of time with this, and SimCity 4. I swear, I always been hooked to SimCity 4, but every since I visited here, and all these custom lots and mods, I am getting more addicted then I used to be! Lol I will post if I get anything figured out, will be going through alot of trail and errors. -

Haha, thanks again for the comments, and to tell the truth, I was trying to inspire others to make them.... not make them for others.... Lol, but if someone don't show thru soon I will have to do it myself. So this is a funny topic I made, when I am the one providing! Lol So... it would be nice to see what others can come up with. Now about the LOD, I am not familar with setting it up, or know where to begin to get it precise, I guess fulling with LOD I will learn, (Learn better fooling arround then reading it on some help page.) Anyways I guess I will give it a try. BTW, I did re-make those, and the texturing looks much nicer, and the sign as well... but I think I am going to change the whole approach to this. As AgentUhOh7 who posted the 1st post earlier said, I may have to make them sloped like this, \ instead of this l . Matter of fact, I am going to try this approach now. -

Thanks for the comments. The way I made them was export them from BAT and then made a 1x1 Lot from PEGs Seasonal trees lot. Then I resized the lot to fit the prop in there, then resized it back to 1x1 while keeping the model centered. Then I move the model ever how much is needed to fit that 1x1 lot. It was alot of trail and error, but I got it to fit perfect for the 1x1 peices strieghts. However, I am having problems with that exit/on ramp, and did the same thing on it as I did the other 1x1 Lot. See I could get the models from SimCity4 and put them together, but they are not properly imported from the S3D model. So when I do import them they are on a (up and down) l axis rather then a (left to right) -- axis. If someone could help me here in getting a full model of the on/off ramps, and not just pieces, it would be greatly appriciated! EDIT: vester_DK So thats what those are used for! I have those too... how funny! But your right, its not what I am looking for! -

Its really annoying, but here are some screen shots of my attempts at making them. These are not photoshoped, and are embankments I made, which uses PEG Seasonal Tree's. align=baseline> align=baseline> Although it may look good at first, besides being a little off, but then check this massive error out! It is possible, not impossible, just hard to get the dimentions correctly presice. I just now tried my attempt at it, but failed. In the meantime here is some pics I found online, that kinda fit what I am looking for as fillers for sunken Highways! width=500 align=baseline> http://bcd.tamhsc.edu/cedental/pearlext.jpg width=554 align=baseline> I can make the textures if needed, its the part of making the models precise thats hard! I am going to continue to try and post pics here, anyone else is welcome to join in and help me make some more realistic siding for our ground highways!
