  1. It seems as a tile can't both have a transparent base texture and be transit enabled at the same time. Is this the case? I've made a 2x2 lot and placed some highway props on it. I saved it in the lot editor and went into SC4tool to transit enable (TE) it. I tried it in game and everything worked perfectly so I took the next step: Transparency. In ilives reader I removed the 0x00000002 properties that belonged to the base textures to make the tiles transparent. When I tried the lot in game again they were transparent but not TE:d anymore. I also tried the other way around. I created the lot, deleted the base textures and when I tried to TE it in SC4tool, but I couldn't. I'm not sure if this is a limitation of the game, SC4tool or if I've screwed up somewere along the way. It seems as the 0x0000007 (TE) property is more related/depentant to it's 0x00000002 (texture) property than I thought. Maybe that's a known fact, that the TE property won't work without a texture property for the same tile? Another thing I've noticed when I was making another lot was that I couldn't TE one lot for both ground and elevated highway. I tried to TE the lot in SC4tool and everything seemed perfect, but in game I couldn't place ground nor elevated highways anywere. I've TE:d many lots for both rail and road, rail and street, road and street and they've all worked in game. So why not highways? Anybody who knows this who can help me clear my mind a bit? And YES I've searched the forums!

    anandus: If you're using Firefox you could download Tabbrowser Preferences and force the browser to open every java-popup in a new tab. That way the STEX links will all open in their own tab

    Well great update, though I have a little question about STEX. Will the links be Javascript to popup a window only? Because I always used to middle-click (in Firefox) to get the lots/BATs in separate tabs. Now I get a new tab with the adress set to javascript:// Another small thing: A missed "Y" on the left. "Keword Search" <-> "Keyword Search" EDIT: Nevermind the javascript thing, I've made it work

    The easiest way is to like Constantina said give them want they need (water, power, clean air clean streets) and then plop a few parks nearby and they should pop up everywhere.

    Just to put an end to the PNG/JPG discussion: JPG can look just as good as PNG if you save it at full quality which you unfortunately can't using mspaint. I would also prefer PNG as it's the format intended to replace both GIF and JPG in a near future. Also because of it's ability to be transparent but still looking good, unlike the GIF which can have a maximum of 256 colors (really limited). Duke87: If you really want to you could send me your avatar as a BMP and I'll save it at no loss as a jpg, it's just a pm away
  20. NAM crashing my game?

    The game crashes because the puzzlepieces always try to align themself somewhat good. However when you hover them on a station they don't know where to align and just keep on spinning/trying and your computer won't allow it to do this. This is called a infinite loop and one of the most common things to crash a program/game.
  21. This piece exists and will be a part of the next NAM. The problem with it is what I noticed when I made my diagonal-bridge pieces found here in the NAM requests. The textures are a bit screwed up from one angle.

    hamsterTK: My thought was that by not including any bridges in the pieces themself people could BAT many bridges to use with these pieces. Variety is always the best

    I like this alot! If the monorail is modded it'll be alot easier to have r$$$ suburbs (very common here in Sweden).

    qurlix: I modified the ground highway puzzle pieces alpha made by Teirusu, so they're in a separate dat that has to load after the main NAM dat. Here's some new screenshots: Puzzle pieces on land. Puzzle pieces one by one. This is how I think you should use these. The pillars are external props on lots. I thought this would be the best solution because then people can create their own bridges in the BAT using overhanging props. I think this is better than having more puzzle pieces with pillars. I've fixed the pathing on the onslope piece so it's smooth now, it was a really bumby ride for our little sims before. I also PMd you the link to the download.
  25. Do I need Industry??

    It doesn't have to fail at all. I almost never have much industry in my cities. However I use lots of mods (some of them are probably more cheats than mods). The sims won't care if they work in C or I so you could download the Radical Ordinances which lets you control the demand for C. Using this you can create a really high C demand and your sims will have a place to work. Otherwise you could always mod a civic building like a school or a hospital to have very many workers. I've had hospitals with up to 3000 workers. Hope this helps you!
