zed: Yes they work perfectly fine, the only problem is the useability. You have to plop each tile separetaly so it's a bit tricky to get it right. The height is also fixed at 45m so you better not have a bumpy seafloor. I haven't been able to make a diagonal onslope yet either so it looks a bit strange when the bridge must come out from the land straight and then turn into the diagonal. It also doesn't allow ferry traffic to pass through. I have to test it alot more before any possible release

qurlix: Here be the pieces I requested! I looked into how you guys make pieces like these and found out that it wasn't too impossible. There's a 45m onslope piece and then some 45m highway pieces. They're in a tab-circle in the bottom of the highway-menu. I know about your 15m policy so if you don't want this pieces I'll probably release them myself if you don't mind. My little diagonal highway bridge btw, I have a new request, a bit more realistic this time: Diagonal On-slopes?

ardelica: But you can't plop a water plop on land ?

One thing that can make it better: IRL you almost always have the offramp before the onramp. This is because they want to keep the two ramps as far away from eachother as possible. So the ramp on the top/right sida of the avenue in your first pic would then be backwards if you know what I mean. Just my two cents

On-Slope Ground Highway to Elevated Highway
pjot replied to NightlinerSGS's topic in NAM & Transit Networks
If they can't make an elevated puzzle piece that connects to the draggable elevated highway you can't bridge it, looking at it that way they don't function like normal highways -

Diagonal Jagged Edges Mod This mod fixes the jagged edges that appear on half of the diagonals in the game making sunken highways look very ugly when turning the "wrong way". When using this mod the game will show more cliffs than it usually does so be careful with your slopes. What the mod really does is force the game to regard more tiles as cliffs since they are sloped correctly on all the diagonals. In the screenshots the height difference is 15m. If anyone thinks the mod is to/not enough radical You can pm me and I'll show you how to alter the value. All the credits of this mod goes to Jeronij who found out what to edit to make the edges go away. I strongly recommend using some walls with this mod. Included files: Maxis_DiagonalFix: Use this if you have no custom terrain installed. CP_DiagonalFix_STANDARD: Use this if you have Cycledoggs standard terrain. CP_DiagonalFix_SNOWCAPPED: Use this if you have Cycledoggs snowcapped terrain. CP_DiagonalFix_SNOWCAPPED_LOW: Use this if you have Cycledoggs snowcapped low terrain. CP_DiagonalFix_SNOWCAPPED_LOWER: Use this if you have Cycledoggs snowcapped lower terrain. How to use this mod: Maxis_DiagonalFix: Put this file in your plugins folder. CP_DiagonalFix_: Put the file suitable for your terrain where the TerrainParameters file is located. Then move that file out of the plugins folder. Dependencies: None of course If anyone has a terrain mod not included in this pack just make a post in the support thread and I'll include that one too. Post any questions there aswell. Again credits to Jeronij! -
I could but then the lots bugs when you've been in underground mode..

JayStimson: That's the problem when transit enabling for highways. They arn't textures but props Sure I could have a grass or concrete texture below the highway but since the games original highways doesn't I don't what that either. On the second question I guess I was a bit fuzzy I'm not trying to transit enable the same tile for two networks but a 2x1 on one end of the lot for elevated highway and one 2x1 in the other end for ground highway. I know that I need some rul and sc4path files for this to be working asif maxis had done it but I'd be satisfied even if the automatas drove like drills into the ground or if they didn't show up at all just as long as the pathfinding engine could guide the sims through the lot. PS. I've seen your walls and they look great!

flubby: Those are the Avenue and Rail onslope puzzle pieces, added to the NAM a long time ago I'd also like to squeeze in a little request, but it's really lame so don't cry now qurlix. I figure that the highway onslope puzzle pieces will be in the next NAM, but they won't be able to connect to real elevated highways, they will be elevated ground highway puzzle pieces, am I correct? I'd like to see pieces that are very high, say 45m instead of 15m aswell. And a 45m->15m onslope transition piece. Why? Beacause if you terraform your rivers good enough you can make them 30m deep and if you have you ground level at 15m (to be able to sunken highways) you could make diagonal highway bridges using the 45m pieces, no? I'm aware that this won't get anything near first priority but if it's not that hard it's worth a try

Yes, I did that. Just forgot to mention it since it's more or less a habit when using the reader but thanks anyway!

On-Slope Ground Highway to Elevated Highway
pjot replied to NightlinerSGS's topic in NAM & Transit Networks
Aren't those just puzzlepieces all of them? More like elevated ground highway pieces? I don't think they can connect to real elevated highway though. Maybe I'm missing something but I think that's the mayor problem. This is the same problem as the GLR onslope pieces, they can't connect to elevated rail. They are just mere elevated GLR puzzle pieces. Maybe I'm not right.. This is just how I thought it was -
There are still some problems such as the lack of overpasses and you should also flatten the ground below the highway before you place it. It looks a bit bumpy..

On-Slope Ground Highway to Elevated Highway
pjot replied to NightlinerSGS's topic in NAM & Transit Networks
NightlinerSGS: I think it was one of the NAM guys who said that. I also can't really understand how it can be so hard but since there is no such piece I guess it is. I don't think that they just don't want to do it. -
On-Slope Ground Highway to Elevated Highway

Where did you read that? Because if that piece exist I would sure like it even if it's a bit hackish -
On-Slope Ground Highway to Elevated Highway
pjot replied to NightlinerSGS's topic in NAM & Transit Networks
No, this modd does not exist. Atleast not for highways. I'm not sure about the technical reasons but I think it's impossible to make this piece because of pathing issues. -
I think occupied floor should be accurate, or tallest place you can get to without climbing ladders or anything like that. However people CAN build a taller building than the sears tower it's just a matter of who's gonna pay for it.

Monorails stopping at traffic lights?!?
pjot replied to Frigid's topic in SC4 Bugs & Technical Issues
Haha, this is really sick! Maybe you should build more schools so the monorail drivers in your city won't be so stupid
