There was a Mac user who wrote a very insightful piece about how to avoid the too many plug in problem. She is, apparently, no longer on the site. I have a copy of her article in PDF. I can send it to you. I believe there is a link in the “Mac in a Nutshell article”. The fix in involves going into the simcity4 code and changing the file limit to whatever you want. The other suggestion about the too many  plugin is to segregate your dats files from your lots, models and description files (these are the .lot, .model and .desc files that you in the plugins you download) I have done this with the 32 bit game. Finally, the people on this site hate the Mac.
