(6015) So I just realized something scary. The day I first registered here at Simtropolis is closer in time to the day I was born than it is to today. Wow.
-
(6013) For a long time a page wasn't complete without me either, but I seem to have missed one now that people have started posting in here more frequently than once every couple months again.

(5969) They takes on different shapes

(5965) There is a running joke that Best Buy is the place where people go to try out electronics in person before ordering them from Amazon for less money. I have definitely done this myself at least once.

(5959) Oh hey it's been exactly two months since the last post in this thread.

(5956) I observed back in December that St. Thomas still had two K-Marts and they were doing good business as they were the only general big box stores on the island (Target, WalMart, etc. have no presence there). Will definitely leave a void in the market should they close.

So last month, this happened...
-
(5952) But is it a brother? Or is it a mother?

(5945) They're filming some scenes for the show Elementary in my neighborhood today.

Evergreen State College and the repercussions of violent "Social Justice"
Duke87 replied to Ocram's Razr's topic in Current Events
I see nothing in any of those video clips that looks like someone being "virtually kept prisoner". Harassment... yeah, there are a few examples of harassing actions in there. My question is, what did the "these racist teachers" do that the crowd is criticizing?- 7 Replies

(5940) What was Aunt Sally doing that she needed to be excused for, anyway?
-
(5937) And 2+3 =5, so if you had a set of standard-size trading cards that was numbered sequentially that high, card #5936 would go in the fifth pocket on the page.

(5934) Have we really gone over a month with no one posting in here? Well then. Okay, for a new discussion seed: with a recent visit to Alaska I have now been to 49 states. And can claim to have crossed the arctic circle, and experienced daylight at midnight.

Simple. Just say how the person above you is going to die. Can be silly or serious, but obviously silly is preferred. Be creative! aaand- go!

(5929) If we're talking SNES, Megaman X-X3 have some decent tunes.

(5925) Streets of SimCity has an awesome soundtrack

(5922) I've read plenty of internet based comics over the years (only still actively following a handful of them though). Never collected physical comic books, but I've seen plenty of movies and TV shows based on them.

(5916) Heh. Things are going well. Still actively wedding planning, we're getting married in December. Also we have a cat. Not sure if I mentioned that.

Sig Sauer now makes a handgun with an image of the American flag etched into the top, and the word "stand" engraved on the side of the barrel. On some level it's almost comical. Nothing screams "'MURCA!" quite like this. But it's also rather troubling given that this is presenting an openly hostile message towards a particular group of people over a political opinion.

Mom demands for Sleeping Beauty to be banned from school
Duke87 replied to MisterBlueStar4's topic in Current Events
This is ridiculous. Princess Aurora clearly didn't mind being woken up by Prince Charming kissing her. You'd have a legitimate beef about consent being an issue if she complained about it and he persisted but that's not what happened at all. She quite willingly rides off into the sunset with him with a huge smile on her face, for Pete's sake. There is no shortage of consent there. -
(5913) I can now say I have held the phone which is used to call the bullpen in an MLB stadium. That is an interesting thing to be able to say.

Again, spring cleaning deleted a lot of useless posts. So here we go again. Credit goes to The Milkman for creating the original thread. So, to quote that starting post: Say something honest about the person above you. Start with me.quote>

(5909) Yeesh Larks, glad you're in one piece!

(5900) I've done those types of long road trips on multiple occasions. Loads of fun, highly recommend. Greetings from Myrtle Beach, SC. I actually didn't drive here from NY! But that's because I'm here for work, not pleasure.

(5894) There seems to be a common lifecycle pattern with free hosting sites. They become popular. As a result of their popularity they become unable to cover their expenses on ad revenue alone. So they create a concept of premium membership and start trying to nudge customers into it. Most people don't bite, so they start trying to force people into it if they want to continue using the site. Then, most people abandon the service en masse in favor of some other new site that's popped up and is earlier in its lifecycle. The previous site then fades quickly into irrelevance, possibly outright going under. It's an endless cycle because no one is willing to pay for the service, but it's difficult to impossible to actually make money without people paying for the service.
