"Emo" and "Goth" Trends To Be Banned In Russia
Eastwinn replied to masochist's topic in Current Events
I'm getting the feeling that some people in this thread don't know that actual meaning of "emo." (Modern meaning, not the 90's one.) "Emo" is a social scene intertwined with a music scene. "Emos" do not necessarily cut themselves. Cutting yourself is often a method used to by people with varying levels of depression of distracting themselves from their problems. It's similar to when you step on your own foot to distract yourself from a painful bee string. The "Emo" music scene consists of many bands like: Panic! at the Disco Fall Out Boy 30 Seconds to Mars From First to Last (This band is a "screamo" band, "emo" with harsh vocals) Just wanted to clear that up. -
We all know of the Grandfather paradox. That disproves the possibility of time travel IMO.

To tell you the truth, I wouldn't care where the NAM is developed; As long as I get it, I'm fine. (The above post was written from the point of view of someone who actually still plays SC4 )

"Emo" and "Goth" Trends To Be Banned In Russia

What bands, for example, would they be banning? -
It's a shame, really. E-Drama does no good to begin with.

If a man hacking in fury at a block of wood make there an image of a cow, is that image a work of art? If not, why not?quote> I've been thinking about this for a while now. I know my answer and I'm curious to other's opinions. This is from A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man. I have not read this autobiography, but instead, saw this quote while browsing on another forum. It turns out that this has implications even on Simtropolis. "If someone posts helpfully in hopes of receiving an award, is it still helpful?" and "If someone donates helpfully only to get the STEX collection discs, are they still being helpful?" are some roughly worded examples. It's a question that I think could tell a lot about a person. Opinions?

"Who Framed Roger Rabbit" is what came to my mind too. I remember watching that movie more than once as a child but I don't remember a kangaroo. I don't think that's it.

If I had a paypal account and some money I'd buy a thong just so I could say I have one.

Every Time I Die. That's it but it was killer.

I always hesitate. Unlike Duke, I aim directly for the seem. I try to get the middle of my foot directly over top it. It's like a little balancing game. I don't know why I do it. I think it stems from when my Mom warned me as a child not get too close to the back of next step because it could crush my foot. I don't really believe that anymore, but it's a sticky habit nonetheless.

I like a lot of different kinds of metal, "indie" and progressive but grunge always comes out on top in the end. As far as grunge goes, my top 6: 1. Pearl Jam 2. Alice in Chains 3. Bush 4. Nirvana 5. Soundgarden 6. Toadies and then metal.. 1. Every Time I Die 2. All That Remains 3. Pantera 4. Anthrax 5. Norma Jean (the first album) 6. Necrophagist

I agree with duke completely. Racism is just leftover from a time when it was needed for survival (like most every feature we include). It's also interesting how you can see the change in attitude about racism, sexism and the like in things like old books, old TV shows and sometimes, even old people.

Yeah, but leather doesn't smell like someone who hasn't washed their hair in a week I personally don't get the fascination with shoes. I understand that I simply don't understand why girls are so interested being that I'm a guy, but sometimes I feel like a pair of 1 size too small, dirty black tennis shoes and a pair a flip flops where my toes don't hang out is all I really need. Maybe I'm just different? I don't know; it doesn't matter really because it can only save me money .

I've got to do this... Top Ten Guitar Solos: 1. Alive - Pearl Jam - Mike McCready - Words do not describe the most awesome climax ever. 2. - Guns N' Roses - Slash - Such a beautiful solo, especially with all the other instruments3. - Pink Floyd - David Gilmour - What to say about Comfortably Numb.. Well, It's awesome4. - Pantera - Dimebag Darrel - One of the hardest to play on here. Also includes a killer outro5. Skynyrd - Ed King; Allen Collins - Everyone knows this one 6. - Pearl Jam - Mike McCready - Not only the solo, but the whole song itself is amazing7. Sultans of Swing - Dire Straits - Mark Knopfler - The fills really make this song. 8. - Buckethead - Buckethead - Shredriffic, yes, but also quite a solo9. - Necrophagist - Muhammed Suiçmez - A brutal song that breaks down into a surprising style of solo. No doubt the hardest to play on this list10. - Guns N' Roses - Slash - A cover of the Bob Dylan song, definitely done right

Also, if anyone has authored an article in the Omnibus and has an up-to-date copy of it, that would also be very useful.
