  7. ST Chat Map

The map looks great! Its a very original idea. Why not create a SimTropolis map?
  8. GTA: San Andreas re-rated to AO (Adults only)

I never liked the GTA series, I always thought they were stupid and pointless. I don't feel sorry about GTA:SA getting the AO rating even though it was unfair in certain ways.
  9. What Music are you listening to right now?

I'm currently listening to one of my favourite songs, That's The Way by KC and the Sunshine Band. Nothing like a little bit of disco to refresh you.

  14. City Squad

Date: 7/12/2005 10:18:29 PM What about the custom buildings and lots? Every City Squad member would have to remove their plugins folder while making a city to ensure that not too much custom content is used. Custom content will be allowed in certain cities but only up to a maximum of ten custom buildings/lots will be permitted. The required BATs/lots will be listed as the dependancies when the city is uploaded.quote> I had already mentioned about that in the FAQ as seen just above. I'm still waiting for a response from Dirk. If I don't get a response from him, I'll probably contact another admin in a few days.

Excellent! A very unique and good-looking house!
  16. PML Advanced Residential Dome

It should be a futuristic industrial building for SimMars. Good work nonetheless!

  18. The Berlin Region

Thanks for all the comments! Your support is appreciated! Before I get on with Twin Rapids Provincial Park here's a small news update. Unfortunately, some of the pics may not work. Train Derailment Injures Three A recent train derailment of a Berlin North Special Freight (BNSF) train in the heavily industrialized town of Erfurt injured the engineer and two pedestrians. The engineer was treated for a broken rib and both pedestrians received minor cuts and bruises. The train wreck happened on November 15th at around 9 AM. The eight car train was traveling west to Spandau when it hit an icy strecth of rail line and lost it's gripping. The train was carrying a highly explosive gasoline. When the derailemt occured, the tank car holding the substance slammed into a hopper car and started to leak. When we heard about a BNSF derailment we knew we had to act fast said Mr. Travis Yawlair the spokesperson of the Regional Transportation and Travel Department. Berlin North (BN) is the region's founding train network he said BNSF is a division of BN specialised in carrying hazardous and unusual cargo that include chlorine, gasoline, cement, nitrate, acid, methane and other chemicals. Other cargo may include military equipment, steel girders, pieces of sewer systems and other government commodities. This particular train had gasoline. Gasoline is dangerous to the soil, water and sewer system and very explosive. Thankfully, the gasoline didn't explode. According to Yawlair, derailments aren't as uncommon as believed to be. Minor derailments happen almost every week he explained Usually we get the train rolling again in a matter of hours. In a major industrial town like Erfurt, you need to be awake 24/7. Major derailments like this are rare however. In all the derailment only caused about 200$ in dmamge. Chapter 4 - Twin Rapids Provincial Park A major achievement has been reached. Berlin's first regional park was built about two kilometers away from Erfurt. It's purpose was to increase tourism and clean the air of that area. The project costed about 2000$ to realise and several years to complete. Named after two twin rapids nearly side-by-side, this park provides many sporting activities like baseball, mini golf and tennis. It also has over five kilometers of hicking trails, a campground, an observation tower and some hot springs all nestled in rugged pine forests. Here's a tour of Twin Rapids Provincial Park. The park during it's construction The completed park Here are some of the features: Parking for 60 cars Pine Trails Large Ponds (East Pond) (West Pond) Consession stands and plazas Twin Rapids It mentions about a bunch of sporting activites and there not in the pictures. Months later the park became Berlin's number one attraction. Erfurt decided to pitch in and expand the park by about 30%. The new Twin Rapids Provincial Park The sporting and leisure activities Baseball Campground Observation Tower Tennis, mini golf and hot springs As you can see this park took a lot of time, effort and money. Coming Up Next: Linz: Early Beginnings Your Feedback: Do you like Twin Rapids Provincial Park? What would you add to it?
  19. City Squad

Date: 7/14/2005 8:32:11 PM Author: srcldennis How soon can we start?? Downloading that is. LOL,,, quote> My idea still has to be approved be administrators, the STEX will have to be modified slightly and off-site forums would have to be setup. Until then, you'll have to wait. Date: 7/15/2005 7:42:32 AM Author: huskerman007 I would let you host it on simvision but I would want the downloads in the Simvision Exchange though.quote> Huskerman, I will inform you as soon as City Squad is approved. Then I'll talk to you about off-site hosting.
  20. Upload a city

I've been trying to organize something called City Squad. Read more here . My idea still has to be approved but it would solve many of the issues with uploading cities.
  21. EDIFICIO EUROPA

Looks great, but does the ploppable come with residents?
  22. 4ms Tour Londres

Nice! We need more of these on the STEX.
  23. City Squad

Date: 7/13/2005 2:48:29 PM Author: srcldennis That sounds like a great idea. I can understand about not including custom lots, but what about the mods? The NAM for instance?quote> I think that the NAM would be a standard dependancy for all of the cities because it is so helpful with transportation. But other mods could make a difference in game play. Date: 7/13/2005 4:29:37 PM Author: the_new_simman Say you uploaded a 5MB file than 100 people downloaded it. What's 100 x 5? 500 MB just ofr 100 downloads. See how fast bandwidth gets eaten away? I bet I could see 1000's of people downloading cities, meaning 1 GB of bandwidth. That's a ton.
  24. City Squad

It would be a form of exchange but the number of uploads a day and the size of the files would be about the size of BATs. A city will be no larger then five megabytes unless special permission has been given otherwise. Uploads will be made no more then twice a day to save bandwidth.quote> Would that eat up too much bandwidth?
