I had a similar problem. I bought what I thought was a legal copy of the off eBay but the code would not work and therefore the patches would not work install. I ended buying the whole thing again from steam for $20 or something and when you do that the game comes with all the required patches etc already added (except darknite of course...) Good luck!!!

Thanks for the feedback everyone! The texturing is definitely the hardest part of BATting I find... Getting it just right is difficult and then it changes when you export anyway!! I need a lot more practice at making textures... T-Recks - Thanks for the encouragement... I actually thought that it wasn't really good enough for STEX, I just made it to get used to gmax and the BAT and of course for the novelty of having my house in the game vester - Thanks for that info! I saw that it looked a bit strange but had no idea what the problem would be, so I will definitely fix that and I will know for the future now too, thanks!! mnotes - Thanks like I said I find the texturing hard but I will get it into photoshop and dull the colour a little... Many many houses here in Sydney have the orange roof tiles and some of them are that orange believe it or not, having said that, ours isn't Anyway, thanks for looking and taking the time to help, it's much appreciated. I already have my next project planned... A local pub, I will keep posting!!

Sorry for the double post but it seems no one is interested in any of my stuff I have started with a very small modest BAT, it is my childhood house complete with colour scheme! Here are some shots of it in the game! This is the front view, it's a single story 3 bedroom house, although the game put 16 R$$ residents in, haha... Back view with the kitchen extention my parents added when they bought it back in the 70s... And some crappy night lights... This is my first BAT ever and I was going on tutorials to figure it all out, so I'm pretty proud of this effort BUT I know there's a lot to learn and am keen to hear what you guys think I could improve on... And re: the lot, I left it pretty bare out the back on purpose, as I just wanted to get it in the game annd test it... I will most likely add some more detail later on

Hello! I have somewhat of a favour to ask... I downloaded the amazing BAT from the STEX made by yoder7652 but of course when I plopped it in game I was missing some dependencies.... I was wondering if anyone would be so kind to check their plugin folders for these prop/texture packs... I have 4 of the 7 required... It's just that I love London so much and I miss it a lot, so I love using the London buildings in my cities BSC BAT Props D66 Vol07 BSC MEGA Props - Gascooker Vol01 BSC MEGA Props - JES Vol01 BSC MEGA Props - Misc Vol01 BSC_Park_Textures BSC MEGA Props - SG Vol 01 BSC Textures - MEGA Pack Vol 01 Like i said I have managed to track down/already had 4 of the seven. The other 3 I have done searches in STEX and LEX to no avail and of course the links in the read me file no longer work... (the Eye was uploaded in 2006, so no wonder!!) I would be forever grateful to anyone who had these and was able to upload them or email them to me Thanks in advance!!

Ahhh OK, great thanks for that Might I ask then, how do you get your textures? Do you make your own or do you use other people's?? If the latter do you use the same technique which I am trying (but getting an error in)?? Also, is there a way to make triangles? It seems to be the only shape missing, I mean there's even teapots, but no triangles...?? Sorry for so many questions, but I'm rather overwhelmed by everything haha!! -

Hello, I'm new to all this so not sure if I'm asking in the right place but it seemed appropriate here... I am working my way thru the Omnibus BAT tutorial and have got to the textures part. I have two problems; Firstly, I am trying to extract some textures from a .dat file and am following the tutorial for this on SC4devotion. This worked fine until I got into FSH image Manager, everytime I try to load any of the textures, I get this error: I literally have no idea what any of that means... Any ideas?? Secondly, when I am in gmax/BAT, the tutorial says this: Which is fine but when I try to do that I click standard (at the second arrow) and it goes straight to this: Now I see further down in the tutorial this is the window used for later on but missing the other two steps means I will only ever be able to use this one texture, which would look pretty bad... I must be doing something wrong....? Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks -

I guess from there being no response here no one knows where the missing end to page 4 is.... I assume anyone who comes by this tutorial are all in the same boat, no one with the know-how ever comes to this page Thanks for the kick start, great tutorial

All if these downtowns are so inspirational... Maybe one day mine will be good enough to show... Til then: I notice a couple of you have the gherkin in your downtowns, is this available on stex or lex?? Or is it custom? I've been thru stex pretty extensively but didn't see it on there...

All education and health amenities are for the tile (city) in which they reside on. Sims will not travel to another city for these things I'm afraid...

Hello, This is my first post as you can see, I have been lurking for some time but am looking for help with this particular city I am working on. Firstly, my region is quite large, the total pop. is close to 3 million over around 10 squares, mostly small and medium tiles. I use a money tree mod as feel like normal governments seem to pull money from thin air (or all of our pockets) to pay for things, I like having the freedom to give my city what it needs. Now this has lead to things growing a lot quicker than what it really should, and from what I imagine most of you guys would approve of... This particular city is around 30 years old and I thought was going pretty well, the population for it currently is around the 200k mark. Larger residential buldings began growing which upped the demand for CO which began to grow. Then a couple of very nice CO$$$ buildings grew and I was very happy with things. The problem was they all grew on avenues which haven't got enough traffic on them to keep the large C buildings interested so they then abandon due to low demand. So questions are, is this happening because they have grown too quickly? It strikes me as odd that they would grow in the first place if the demand wasn't there?? and am I correct in thinking that the best way for these buildings to prosper is by over population and the roads and avenues being dangerously busy...? It's strange because I have another city of over 400k that doesn't have this problem, although it's much older, I think around the 70 year old mark... Anyway, any thoughts would be greatly appreciated, thanks for your time

Thanks Nonny Moose I haven't used any demand cheats but I will keep that in mind. Re: the moolah cheat, I tried it but with no success, is there any trick to it that i'm missing?? Just type 'moolah' then how ever much you want...? I have started a new region now, I think that pollution thing ruined that whole region -

Well there wasn't any huge amount of growth... Of course just now I managed to get things back to almost normal, and I had to bulldoze a air pollution to energy plant (which i wasn't even using anymore cos of the cheat mod) and it sent my city into chaos, I had 400k sims abandon in about 2 mins.... I've almost got it back to how it was now but everything has screwed up.... Now every city I open in the whole region is screwed, it's now the CS$$$, CO$$ and CO$$$ who's demand has gone underground, I think that's related to above problem tho... I almost feel like throwing in the towel....... The taxes are at a neutral rate on all of the cities by the way... That is to say at 9%... PS, Roman I like your city -

Well, firstly i have NAM already... And I don't use any demand cheats, the only cheats I have is the money tree and a traffic air pollution cheat, which I only used because a week or so ago the R$$$ demand crashed and I finally figured out that this was the reason that happened. But now that's cleared up there is no dicernable reason for this new crash... The region has just over 4 million and there are two cities of over 500k that are effected the worst... Commute times are reletively high but only because all the sims persist in travelling to other cities despite there being jobs much closer in their city... Now some of the cities seem to have recovered on the R$$ front but still R$$$ demand is way underground... And btw, how do I retrieve in game photos, I can't seem to find them to upload them... Is it better just to print screen and do it that way?? -

Sorry for the double post but... Ok so things have moved along reletively positively since I used much of your advices and things were going well... Until all of a sudden the R$$ and R$$$ all over the region has gone underground. Every city I open both R's demands are maxed out in the negative. All the cities have excellent civic services of all kinds and there are no cities with any no job zots or anything. All of the cities have high desirebility for the most part in the areas where the populations are living, there's no air polution to speak of and I thought it may have been water polution (esp one city had pretty bad water polution) but I added some treatment plants but that still didn;t help... I'm really at a loss as to what this could be now.... -

Ok, Thanks for the replies, both answers make a lot of sense! I do have a lot of commercial zoning in this particular city so maybe rezoning some of that residential will help as well... I guess I get caught up in wanting to have big skyscrapers in every city and I know it doesn't work like that!! Thanks again for your help, much appreciated -
