  1. If it isn't possible to edit the amount of resources then is it possible to edit the speed on which they are extracted? or the amount that is extracted? It would certainly increase the profit margin although that would result in it being depleted much faster. God damn it, I wish it were possible to edit the resources in the maps. Oh well, nothing to do about it. Kingdark
  2. Resources

that answers my question as well. A damned shame though. I would love unlimited resources. Is there a workaround with a trainer of some sort?
  3. I would definitely like the option of having near limitless resources. In fact, is it possible to place resources (y)ourselves? Some maps are absolutely terrible. resource connection wise
  4. well, regardless if it possible or not... If it is we know that Maxis lied if not... they told the truth.
  5. and people were saying that it could be possible, I suppose that'll teach me what to believe
  6. Resource Mods

I would be VERY interested in a mod like this. I mean, how are you supposed to get rich if resources are gone so quickly?
  7. When I played the game when I had it (simcity 4) I couldn't even built a city on the smaller plot. I suppose that means I sucked back then.
  8. I for one am looking forward to the time when resources no longer run out as quickly.
  9. What is more important? Having more resources or having bigger maps? I wouldn't be able to give you a final answer because both are equally important. Having more resources for a longer time would mean you can build up slower. You don't need to be in such a rush to make most of it. And the matter of resources leads me to another matter. Am I the only one that thinks that some placed resources are totally WEIRD? I mean, the meter tells you that it has a full slot of be it water, wind, coal etc but when you open the map you find that they are in very weird places. I rememeber in an earlier update that the resources were inaccessable because they are 'in' a mountain or a hill. in other words, imposssible to exploit. So that would mean an option so that WE get to decide where the resources are placed which would mean on its turn you get to plan your city MUCH easier. Then there is the fact that (as already mentioned in some topic(s) that the resources are depleted very quickly. Sometimes in less then a year other times you get to last more then a few years if you're lucky. If the resources were to last longer and you get a good steady income then the map size issue becomes less important because once it gets going, and you don't do anything stupid then it'll KEEP going. That leads me to my final subject: the map sizes. I really wonder if it were possible or not. I mean, if it WERE possible wouldn't maxis have already included it? Bigger maps would be fun to play that's true. and I remember them saying that playablility would be an issue? (or something like that) but why not make it a region with no more then a handful of cities or if worst come to worst only a single city? The last matter I want to bring up is the (offline) global market. Is it possible to edit its values? because computers are currently worth around 165K when I played last night. So once production for computers gets going you're going to be stinking RICH. That is if you can manage to get your resources to last long enough and you don't need to import resources instead. Which will cut down on your profit margin by a lot and... well it's a damned circle. So, my question is: what's your opinion? what would you prefer? more/longer lasting resources, the ability to place your (un or limited) resources yourself or bigger maps? OH! That reminds me, I may have an work around for having bigger maps, well the map size won't change but what if the modders change the size of the buildings? make it smaller? If it takes less space, you can place more... Although I can't be the only one who thought of this.... Kingdark
