ou guys are above an beyond awesome for all of the help! I tried the right click on the uninstall file to make sure I am running as an administrator but its not giving me that option. I'm pretty sure that I am an administrator on the computer if that makes sense? Again.....painfully tech UNsavvy here. And also....this is a Windows 8 OS. I will try to reload the CDs into the same exact location and try to uninstall them again and see if that does anything. Not that you are clinging to my every word, haha- but I will be travelling for the next few days so will try and update/ get new advise after that. Thanks again everyone!

Okay I'm just convinced I'm suffering from a lethal combination of lacking tech savvy and having a frustratingly stubborn computer. I can easily find the files to delete the original SimCity files. There is an "uninstall" tab to click. When I click it, a little message asks first "if I want to allow this program to make changes to my computer." I click yes, and then it asks "Do you wish to delete all saved cities as well?" I clicked yes, just because at this point I wouldn't mind completely starting over. Every time I get to this point and click okay though, then nothing happens. The game and its files are still on the computer. i can't open them to play, and I can't seem to uninstall them. It just keeps saying they are there, asks if i want to proceed with uninstalling, and then nothing..... What could I possible be missing as not to understand something as basic as uninstalling an old game?? Either way, thanks for the help guys

Ok but now I can't even get my computer to uninstall the game the conventional way, as once I put the disc for the old game in, it just won't read it. I'm sure there's a laughably simple solution...any suggestions?

Hey guys, So I am pretty bad when it comes to technology of any kind, which is why, after years of owning a Mac, i was relieved when I bought a new PC and my old Simcity and Simcity Rush hour Cd's still worked on the new computer. As many people do, I had some great downloadable content and really customized some new cities I built....just like the old days. Then I moved away to grad school and when I came back, my computer suddenly decided it would no longer run my SimCity CD's After a little research, I figured that I had to buy a new digital edition of SimCity Deluxe off of steam, and luckily it works again. Now however, A bunch of my mods have disappeared and then most, but not all of my downloaded buildings. As many have here I'm sure...I had all of the RCI buildings as ploppables on my landmarks list, alongside many new buildings downloaded from this very site. So I tried to re-download the ones that went missing, and while it says I've downloaded and placed them into the same folders...none of it is showing up in my game. I also can't seem to get the RCI ploppables back either. There are however maybe 30 old buildings I downloaded still in the list. Does anyone know what's happening to this game and why I can't seem to fix it? Any help would be great as I really love playing this for old time's sake.

Ok, this helps a lot, thank again. I realize that my computer is brand new and the game, pretty old, so I'm trying to keep my expectations low. I just miss the game! Thanks again!

Great thanks! But um.....I don't really understand what you're talking about. I'm kind of pc illiterate which is obviously making this more difficult for me, haha

I'm glad I cam a cross this. Is anyone else having an issue that once the game is finally loaded, the graphics are weird in-game? These huge gash-like things keep appearing across my screen and infrastructure and buildings kind of randomly disappear and reappear on me....any tips?

Ok, so I've encountered a new problem. What you guys said works, so thank you. But now my Graphics a re messed up. I keep getting huge gash-like effects over my map, streets and buildings randomly disappearing, etc. Has this happened to anyone else? Thanks again.

Hey! So I'm new here, but love the SimCity franchise. I used to play SimCity Rush hour all of the time, but went to college, bought a Mac and fell out of practice. Well I splurged and bought a new desktop with Windows 8, and I got Rush hour downloaded (Though can't get the game screen to look right, as in not stretched out) and would love to be able to download new custom content again. However I can't for the life of me get it to download some of the awesome files here, does anyone have some suggestion or experience they'd be willing to share? Any help would be awesome, and sorry this is so long!
