Architects or students architecture

Thanks, I'll chew on this for a while, although I would still like to hear the word from the architects. Tell me about long years in school, my mom went through 8 years of medical school. Paid off well too! Very helpful for a $%&^! aren't you? Keep the tips coming! -

Because of my interest in my buildings and designing them for SimMars, my folks have been suggesting that I get a degree in Architecture. So I may be an architecture student in the future... Tell me, would getting a degree in civil engineering first help in any way towards getting a good job as an architect? Because the nearest school to that teaches architecture is 2 provinces away, and I could go to the local University and get a degree in civil engineering first if I needed to... And how are the job prospects? Is there enough room for the both of us? (I'm just kidding here... but I really would like to know how the job market is) -

It is coming together well Pooty, except that you have to think outside the....earth.... Just a few suggestions: -round out the outside corners of the building -plop a conveyer belt or two (the prop team might have one?) -add some more support bracing for those cranes, 'cause they look like they'll fall over and take the building with them -add trims, shapes anywhere....make it look more edgy, it is too smooth. Good Work EDIT: Now I find it ironic that I suggested to round out the corners and still make it look edgy! -

I will be unavailable from July22 - July28. I'm going on a short vacation to Vancouver...stopping in Kelowna along the way. Ughhhh...I hate the drive to Vancouver....nice scenery, but SOOO long... Oh well, better than driving through Saskatchewan *snicker*

Hey Vid, that's actually a good idea. I'll second HBC, since the company is like 400 years old. Also was once more powerful than entire countries, owning most of North America. Edit: Oops, sorry for flooding your thread SG, but you ARE one of our favorite designers right now...so I think we are a little anxious for your next project, whatever it is.

We have a Java Hut in downtown Calgary (although I've never been to it myself. I hate coffee, and it takes an hour to get downtown). Here are some of my suggestions: -Futureshop -The Keg (did I suggest this before?) -Chapters/Indigo Bookstores -Staples (Vid also suggested) -Sport Mart or Sport Check -No-Name Barber shops and Salons -Chili's (I know I suggested this one before) -Canadian Tire (I suggested this one too) -No-Name Car repair shops

Well, with that Hooters lot, SG has definitely topped my list of BATTERS. It is simply fantastic, and something every city needs. Now we need some more essentials, such as: Chili's (BABY BACK RIBS!!) Timmy's (Tim Hortons) A&W (mmmmmm.....woot beer) Boston Pizza Eastside Mario's More gas stations (Esso, etc...) Small bank branches (RBC, TD, ScotiaBank, Bank of Montreal, etc...) Hardware stores (Home Depot, Canadian Tire, Rona) And always I must urge you to: JOINSIMMARSJOINSIMMARSJOINSIMMARSNOINSIMMARSJOINSIMMARSJOINSIMMARSJOINSIMMARS
