Well my experiment in high wealth cities crashed and burned. I swear the sim stock market crashed! I suddenly had no job zots literally everywhere. All the fancy apts turned brown and I lost several thousand sims. Then of course the commercial area wasn't in demand anymore and all the pretty down town buildings were abandoned. The area is slowly returning to normal but it's taken a few sim decades and a total revamp of my strategy to turn things around. So ya learn something everyday. Luckily since I'm mayor for life I can't be booted out of office!!!

Now that my region is getting older the population of the colleges is increasing slowly but steadily. As an added bonus the demand for high tech industry is rising as well as higher wealth residence and commercial.

Well I used to live in Tennessee and there is a point in Mt. Juliet where on a clear day you can see the skyline of Nashville about 20 miles away! -

Sorry. Didn't mean to offend any farm workers or fast food workers!!! I'm a lowly little nurse myself. Not very high on the totem pole. I just meant according to the games own guild usually R$$$ won't work farms or dirty industry. That is all. Oh the person who gave two thumbs up on the name of the topic, thx. I had a history professor who talked about town and gown a lot so I figured that would be an appropriate name for the topic!!!

Thx for all the input guys. I do have the proreading ordanance (I need to go go college myself lol). I can add the junior sports as well. Better than my plan to take away their little sim x-boxes and play stations. I forgot as little kid sims they have to go to school. The college enrollment is growing its just slow! I want wave after wave of educated sims to work high tech jobs and offices now now now!!!!!! I guess I need some ignorant sims as well to work the farms, dirty industry, and the sim version of Micky D's !

I have about 7 cities in all so far and I play each one for 10-20 mins or when demand falls for say commercial in one city I go to another and add residential then go back to the 1st city or if I notice too many 'no job' zots I will go to my industrial city and there is usually a demand for industry. Then I zone industry and the zots in the other city goes away till next time. So far it seems to be working. This is the first time I have had my cities rely on each other so much rather than having a bunch on independent cities in the same region.
